WLAN-log-based superspreader detection in the COVID-19 pandemic

Identifying“superspreaders”of disease is a pressing concern for society during pandemics such as *** represent a group of people who have much more social contacts than *** widespread deployment of WLAN infrastructure enables non-invasive contact tracing via people’s ubiquitous mobile *** technology offers promise for detecting *** this paper,we propose a general framework for WLAN-log-based superspreader *** our framework,we first use WLAN logs to construct contact graphs by jointly considering human symmetric and asymmetric ***,we adopt three vertex centrality mea-surements over the contact graphs to generate three groups of superspreader ***,we leverage sEIR simulation to determine groups of superspreaders among these candidates,who are the most critical individuals for the spread of disease based on the simulation *** have implemented our framework and evaluate it over a WLAN dataset with 41 million log entries from a large-scale *** evaluation shows superspread-ers exist on university *** change over the first few weeks of a semester,but stabilize throughout the rest of the *** data also demonstrate that both symmetric and asymmetric contact tracing can dis-cover superspreaders,but the latter performs better with daily contact ***,the evaluation shows no consistent differences among three vertex centrality measures for long-term(i.e.,weekly)contact graphs,which necessitates the inclusion of sEIR simulation in our *** believe our proposed framework and these results can provide timely guidance for public health administrators regarding effective testing,intervention,and vaccination policies.

Dobutamine Infusion and Absence of Pulmonary Hypertension Are Associated with Decreased Mortality in a Cohort of 249 Patients with Cardiogenic shock

Objective: Prognostic analysis of 249 patients admitted for cardiogenic shock (Cs) of various origins. Background: Little is known about prognosis of Cs from non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. Methods: Retrospective monocentric study of patients referred to an ICU during 2 years. Results: Despite aggressive management including intra-aortic balloon pump (31%), extra-renal replacement therapy (36%), extra-corporeal life support (8%), and catecholamine infusion (97%), in-hospital mortality was 46%. Toxic Cs or Cs related to deficiency carried a better outcome (mortality 5%). Post-myocardial infarction or post-cardiac arrest Cs was associated with higher mortality. In the multivariate analyses, only sAPs II (OR 1.037;1.013 - 1.056;p = 0.0001), pulmonary hypertension (OR 4.8;1.3 - 17;p = 0.02), extra-renal replacement therapy (OR 2.9;1.3 - 6;p = 0.006), and dobutamine infusion (OR 0.44;0.2 - 0.96;p = 0.04) were significantly associated with in-hospital mortality. Conclusion: Dobutamine infusion was associated with a better outcome. Higher sAPs II, pulmonary hypertension, and extra-renal replacement therapy were associated with increased in-hospital mortality.

Objective: To describe neurologic outcomes in children infected with HIV in t he era of highly active anti- retroviral therapy (HAART), including rates of pr ogressive HIV encephalopathy (PHE) and clinical sequelae among PHE survivors. st udy design: Neurobehavior and school placement was assessed prospectively in the year 2000 in 126 children infected with HIV. PHE, developmental delay, and atte ntion deficit disorder (ADHD) were the main outcome variables analyzed. Predicto rs of PHE were assessed in controlled analysis among age- matched controls. Res ults: The rate of active PHE in 2000 was 1.6% (n = 2), and the prevalence of a rrested PHE was 10% (n = 13). Residual motor and cognitive sequelae and need f or special education was found in the majority of survivors. PHE relapse occurre d in 3 (23% ) children with previously arrested PHE. Viral load (VL) was the on ly significant factor associated with *** or PHE was not associated with ADH D. Isolated developmental delay was not associated with HIV. Conclusions: PHE is an infrequent and reversible complication of HIV infection that responds to HAA RT and that may relapse if control of the virus is lost. Children with arrested PHE show higher rates of residual neurologic, cognitive, and scholastic impairme nts compared with children who never had PHE. Children with arrested PHE are the group of children with HIV infectionmost at risk for PHE, in the form of a rela pse.

Epidemiology of Renal Failure in Children at the Pediatric University Hospital Charles De-Gaulle of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso)

Objective: Renal failure (RF) is a serious condition that is still insufficiently evaluated in our context. We wanted to know its epidemiology at the Pediatrics University Hospital Center Charles De-Gaulle (PUHC-CDG) of Ouagadougou. Patients and Methods: We retrospectively studied all children aged from three to fifteen years old who were diagnosed with renal failure (RF) in the Department of Medical Pediatrics, from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013. RF was defined by a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) less than 80 mL/min/1.73msup>2sup>, estimated by the formula of Pottel et al., which ignored the size that was rarely found in the medical records. The department constantly lacked pediatric blood pressure monitors or urinary strips. Results: In total, 119 cases of RF (3.3% of all admissions) were collected. They were about acute RFs (ARFs), chronic RFs (CRFs), and Unclassified RFs (URFs), respectively in 28.6%, 2.5% and 68.9% of cases. The overall average age of patients was 6.7 ± 3.4 years old. The average GFR was 35.2 ± 22.2 mL/min/1.73msup>2sup>. The mechanism of ARF was presumed to be organic in 26 cases (76.5%). The most common presumed etiology was malaria (47.9%). Twelve patients (10.1%) died. Conclusion: RF was common at the PUHC-CDG but it was unclassified in over half of the cases. The diagnosis was based on the estimation of the GFR by Pottel et al.’s formula which was a good alternative to the schwartz’s formula. The improvement of human and material resources would certainly help for a screening and characterization of RF at the PUHC-CDG.

In the present investigation, we fabricated strontium (sr2+) incorporated CsPbI2Br-based inorganic perovskite solar cells in ambient conditions. The morphology, crystallinity, absorption, elemental composition and photoluminescence analysis of the bare CsPbI2Br and CsPb1-xsrxI2Br perovskite thin films were studied systematically to investigate the role of sr2+ incorporation. It is observed that the surface morphology of the CsPbI2Br perovskite thin film has been improved by partial substitution of Pb2+ by sr2+ which facilitates photoactive black phase-stabilization and defect passivation. The champion device having CsPb0.98sr0.02I2Br composition exhibited a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 16.61% which is much higher than the bare device (13.65%). Furthermore, our CsPb0.98sr0.02I2Br-based devices maintain > 85% of its initial efficiency over 100 h in ambient conditions.
