Background:There is increased use of early nasal continuous positive airway pressure(NCPAP)to manage respiratory distress in preterm infants but optimal methods and factors associated with successful wean are not well defined.A systematic review was performed to define the corected gestational age(CGA),weight to wean NCPAP and the methods associated with successful weaning of the NCPAP among preterm infants,along with factors affecting ***:searches were made of PubMed using the keywords-NCPAP,CPAP,weaning,withdrawal,preterm,and infants from its inception to January 1st,2014,for studies in all languages but limited to *** reviews(including cross references)were also *** included all randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials where preterm neonates were randomized to different NCPAP weaning *** of CGA,weight and methods used for weaning NCPAP were extracted along with factors which affect its ***:seven studies met the search *** successful wean was at 32 to 33 weeks CGA and at 1600 *** different methods were used for weaning were sudden,gradual pressure wean and gradual graded time off *** for readiness,success and failure to wean were *** affecting successful weaning were intubation,anemia,infection and gastro-esophageal ***:The successful wean was at 32 to 33 weeks CGA and 1600 *** for readiness,success and failure to wean are well *** weaning may be associated with a shorter weaning *** trials are needed comparing weaning methods using defined criteria for readiness and success of NCPAP wean and stratify the results by gestational age and birth weight.

The longitudinal dispersion of solute in open channel flow with short period progressive waves is investigated. The waves induce second order drift velocity in the direction of propagation and enhance the mixing process in concurrent direction. The 1-D wave-period-averaged dispersion equation is derived and an expression for the wave-current induced longitudinal dispersion coefficient （WCLDC） is propased based on Fiscber＇ s expression （1979） for dispersion in unidirectional flow. The result shows that the effect of waves on dispersion is mainly due to the cross-sectional variation of the drift velocity. Furthermore, to obtain a more practical expression of the WCLDC, the longitudinal dispersion coefficient due to seo and Cheong （1998） is modified to incluee the effect of drift velocity. Laboratory experiments have been conducted to verify the propased expression. The experimental results, together with dimensional analysis, show that tbe wave effect can be reflected by the ratio between the wave amplitude and wave period. A comparative study between the cases with and without waves demonstrates that the magnitude of the longitudinal dispersion coefficient is increased nnder the presence of waves.

Microelectrode arrays(MEAs)have enabled investigation of cellular networks at sub-millisecond temporal ***,current MEAs are limited by the large electrode footprint since reducing the electrode’s geometric area to sub-cellular dimensions leads to a significant increase in impedance thus affecting its recording *** report a breakthrough ultra-microelectrodes platform by leveraging the outstanding surface-to-volume ratio of nanowire-templated out-of-plane synthesized three-dimensional fuzzy graphene(NT-3DFG).The enormous surface area of NT-3DFG leads to 140-fold reduction in electrode impedance compared to bare Au microelectrodes,thus enabling scaling down the geometric size by 625-fold to ca.2µm×2µ*** out-of-plane morphology of NT-3DFG leads to a tight seal with the cell membrane thus enabling recording of electrical signals with high signal-to-noise ratio(sNR)of>*** work highlights the possibility to push the limits of the conventional MEA technology to enable electrophysiological investigation at sub-cellular level without the need of any surface *** presented approach would greatly impact our basic understanding of signal transduction within a single cell as well as complex cellular assemblies.

[目的]全髋关节置换术(THR)治疗老年股骨头坏死已取得良好疗效,但对于年轻患者来说,若实施THR手术必须保留更多的骨与软组织,否则远期会导致灾难性后果。传统的长柄髋关节假体切除范围大,不利于术后功能恢复。为此,本文介绍一种全新的短柄髋关节假体,并对其近期临床疗效进行分析。[方法]2006年7月～2008年3月,21例(29髋)患者接受了短柄髋关节假体置换术。手术时平均44岁。其中8例患者行双侧关节置换。假体采用更大直径金属对金属股骨头。术中保留全部股骨颈和转子间肌肉软组织。术后平均随访1年,所有患者行X线和临床检查、Harris评估、以及髋关节功能改善程度和患者满意率调查。[结果]平均Harris评分由术前48分提高至术后88分。术后3～4个月所有患者可以全负重行走。1例术中骨折,术后愈合,未留后遗症。1例术后持续疼痛,原因不明,其他功能恢复正常。1例术后9个月无菌性松动,行再次返修。所有病例未发现髋臼杯松动或移位。[结论]本组病例近期临床效果满意,更多的保留股骨颈和肌肉组织可为术后提供更好的正常生理负载,帮助关节重新塑形。全新的短柄髋关节假体符合生物力学原理,具有发展前景。

The spatial distribution of bacterial communities inhabiting sediment is heterogeneous at different spatial scales,but mostly ***,it is postulated that the heterogeneity of the bacterial community composition varies at the same scale of the heterogeneity of sediment chemical *** large spatial scale(km) diversity in sediment from a brackish water lagoon(Chilika Lake,India) is studied,considering the large scale physical and chemical characteristics of land cover,climate,pH,and ***-two samples(24 stations,3 seasons:winter,rainy,and summer) of sediment from Chilika Lake were analyzed by 16 s ribosomal ribonucleic acid(rRNA) gene sequencing,and the relations with land cover and other physico-chemical paramete rs are *** re samples were collected after a severe cyclonic storm(Phailin) passed near the lagoon in 2013,to see the impact of the tropical storm on the spatial and tempo ral distribution of bacteria in the *** results demonstrate clear spatial relations between physico-chemical parameters(e.g.,salinity),land surfaces(e.g.,drainage area),and the distribution of sediment microbial communities.

A cross-sectional survey of 489 male subjects in the age group 15 to 65 years engageddirectly or indirectly in mango cultivation along with 208 control subjects was carried out to find their socio-economic, environmental and health conditions. The conditions like high illiteracy rate (49.5%), poverty (PCI less than Rs 100 per month, 52.2%), poor housing (mud houses, 66.7%) unsafe water supply (78.6%) were prevailing in the surveyed population. The high respiratory morbidity may be attributed to high prevalence of smoking andprolonged inhalation of organic dusts during farming operation associated with illiteracyand poor socio-economic status. Gastrointestinal disorders were related to poor hygienic conditions, smoking and consumption of contaminated water. The symptoms pertaining to CNs, skin and eyes were found to be associated with exposure to pesticides

A single scan has been performed in Differential scanning Calorimetry (DsC) at a heating rate of 15oC/min under non-isothermal conditions to investigate the crystallization kinetics of glassy se90sb10-xAgx alloys (where x = 2, 4, 6, 8). For this purpose, Handerson’s theory based on non-isothermal method for thermal analysis of single-scan DsC data has been used. The activation energy of crystallization and order parameter has been determined and composition dependence of these parameters has been discussed.
