Coating with viscous formulations has been essential in numerous industries as it can be a means for providing functionalization, additional properties, as well as other benefits. However, there have been scarce studies that have investigated and proposed methodologies in literature. Continuous coating of powders with viscous liquids poses as a promising technology, which has been mentioned in some studies, but has not yet been thoroughly investigated. This paper employs the use of image processing and analysis, in combination with statistical analysis of particles to evaluate the effectiveness of foams.and liquids as a means of coating powder beds. Two different sizes of twin screw mixers that are working in continuous operation are employed, and a new continuous foaming device is fabricated and used for the experiments of coating. The effect of materials.and process parameters (as for example rotational speed, and flowrate) on the quality of coating are investigated. Image analysis is used to assess the coating quality. The results clearly showcase the potential of using twin screw mixers for coating purposes.and not only for mixing. The hypothesis that using large bubble foams to improve the coating of viscous liquids on particles is proven correct, as they provide higher quality coatings compared to their equivalent liquids, when used in the twin screw mixer. surprisingly, using a larger scale twin screw mixer, does not show a subs.antial effect on the mixing, regarding quality, however there is still a requirement for mix optimization for achieving scale-up of this process. These results provide a new pathway for coating powders with viscous formulations in industrial applications, requiring less energy and effort in this process, and can pave the way towards introducing more sustainable industrial methodologies for coating.

The Paleocene mudrocks in Ghana’s Tano Basin have received limited attention despite ongoing efforts to explore hydrocarbon resources.A thorough geochemical analysis is imperative to assess these mudrocks’petroleum generation potential and formulate effective exploration *** this study,a comprehensive geochemical analysis was carried out on ten Paleocene rock cuttings extracted from TP-1,a discovery well within the Tano *** analytical techniques,including total organic carbon(TOC)analysis,Rock–Eval pyrolysis,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,and isotope ratio-mass spectrometry,were employed to elucidate their hydrocar-bon potential and organic ***ﬁndings in this study were subsequently compared to existing geochemical data on Paleocene source rocks in the south Atlantic marginal *** results indicated that the Paleocene samples have TOC content ranging from 0.68 to 2.93 wt%.The prevalent kerogen types identiﬁed in these samples were Type Ⅱ and Type Ⅲ.Molecular and isotope data suggest that the organic matter found in the Paleocene mudrocks can be traced back to land plants.and lower aquatic *** mudrocks were deposited in a transi-tional environment withﬂuctuating water salinity,charac-terized by sub-oxic redox *** indices,both bulk and molecular,indicated a spectrum of maturity levels within the Paleocene mudrocks,s.anning from immature to marginally mature,with increasing maturity observed with greater *** comparison,the organic composition and depositional environments of Paleocene source rocks in the Tano Basin closely resemble those found in the Niger Delta Basin,Douala,and Kribi-Campo Basins,the Kwanza Formation in Angola,and certain Brazilian marginal ***,it is worth noting that Paleocene source rocks in some of the basins,such as the Niger Delta and Brazilian marginal basins,exhibit rela-tively higher thermal maturity levels compared to those observed in the current Paleocene samp

skin-to-skin contact(ssC)consists of positioning the diaper-clad infant against the parent’s chest and is considered a nursing practice rooted in family-centered care(FCC).1 ssC implies simultaneous parental presence and helps to facilitate their involvement from the earliest hours of their preterm infants’lives as this intervention is delivered by parents.1 FCC has gained worldwide popularity in recent years to promote parental presence and active participation of parents in care during neonatal intensive care units(NICUs)hospitalization.2 Both practices relate to developmental care(DC),which regroups specific interventions aimed at reducing stress.and improving infant neurological development.

Comparative analysis of impact of human occupancy on indoor microbiomes

Educational facilities serve as community hubs.and consequently hotspots for exposure to pathogenic ***,it is of critical importance to unders.and processes shaping the indoor microbiomes in educational facilities to protect public health by reducing potential exposure risks of students.and the broader *** this study,the indoor surface bacterial microbiomes were characterized in two multifunctional university buildings with contrasting levels of human occupancy,of which one was recently constructed with minimal human occupancy while the other had been in full operation for six *** levels of human occupancy in the older building were shown to result in greater microbial abundance in the indoor environment and greater proportion of the indoor surface bacterial microbiomes contributed from human-associated microbiota,particularly the skin *** was further revealed that human-associated microbiota had greater influence on the indoor surface bacterial microbiomes in areas of high occupancy than areas of low *** with minimal impact from human occupancy in a new construction,the indoor microbiomes in the new building exhibited significantly lower influence from human-associated microbiota than in the older building,with microbial taxa originating from soil and plants representing the dominant constituents of the indoor surface bacterial *** contrast,microbial taxa in the older building with extensive human occupancy were represented by constituents of the human microbiota,likely from *** findings provide insights into processes shaping the indoor microbiomes which will aid the development of effective strategies to control microbial exposure risks of occupants in educational facilities.

Background Fever of unknown origin(FUO)continues to challenge clinicians to determine an etiology and the need for *** study explored the most common etiologies,characteristics.and average cost of hospitalization for FUO in a pediatric population at an urban,tertiary care hospital in Washington,*** Records from patients admitted to Children's National Health system between september 2008 and April 2014 with an admission ICD-9 code for fever(780.6)were *** charts of patients 2-18 years of age with no underlying diagnosis.and a temperature greater than 38.3℃for 7 days or more at time of hospitalization were *** diagnoses,features of admission,and total hospital charges were *** 110 patients qualified for this *** majority of patients(n=42,38.2%)were discharged without a *** was followed closely by infection,accounting for 37.2%(n=41)of *** disease was next(n=16,14.5%),followed by miscellaneous(n=6,5.4%)and oncologic diagnoses(n=5,4.5%).The average cost of hospitalization was 40,295 Us *** This study aligns with some of the most recent publications which report undiagnosed cases as the most common outcome in patients hospitalized with *** that,often no diagnosis is found may reassure patients,families.and *** cost associated with hospitalization for FUO may cause clinicians to reconsider inpatient admission for diagnostic work-up of fever,particularly given the evidence demonstrating that many patients are discharged without a diagnosis.

Bone mineral, adipose tissue and energy metabolism are interconnected by a complex and multilevel series of networks. Calcium and phosphorus are utilized for insulin secretion and synthesis of high energy compounds. Adipose tissue store lipids.and cholecalciferol, which, in turn, can influence calcium balance and energy expenditure. Hormones long-thought to solely modulate energy and mineral homeostasis may influence adipocytic function. Osteoblasts are a target of insulin action in bone. Moreover, endocrine mediators, such as osteocalcin, are synthesized in the skeleton but regulate carbohydrate disposal and insulin secretion. Finally, osteoblasts.and adipocytes originate from the same mesenchymal progenitor. The mutual crosstalk between osteoblasts.and adipocytes within the bone marrow microenvironment plays a crucial role in bone remodeling. In the present review we provide an overview of the reciprocal control between bone and energy metabolism and its clinical implications.
