We explore the capabilities and limitations of 3D printed microserpentines(µserpentines)and utilize these structures to develop dynamic 3D microelectrodes for potential applications in in vitro,wearable,and implantable microelectrode arrays(MEAs).The device incorporates optimized 3D printedµserpentine designs with out-of-plane microelectrode structures,integrated on to a flexible Kapton®package with micromolded PDMs *** flexibility of the optimized,printedµserpentine design was calculated through effective stiffness and effective strain equations,so as to allow for analysis of various designs for enhanced *** optimized,down selectedµserpentine design was further sputter coated with 7–70 nm-thick gold and the performance of these coatings was studied for maintenance of conductivity during uniaxial strain ***/conforming analysis of the final devices(3D MEAs with a Kapton®package and PDMs insulation)were performed to qualitatively assess the robustness of the finished device toward dynamic MEA applications.3D microelectrode impedance measurements varied from 4.2 to 5.2 kΩduring the bending process demonstrating a small change and an example application with artificial agarose skin composite model to assess feasibility for basic transdermal electrical recording was further demonstrated.

Today's antennas have to operate in multiple resonant frequencies to satisfy the need of recent advances in communication *** paper presents split ring resonator based triangular multiband antenna whose antenna performance is enhanced with the help of frequency selective surfaces(Fsss).The antenna has multiple resonances at s,C,and X *** array of 4×3 crisscross-shaped unit cells are arranged to form the Fss *** antenna is fed with a microstrip line feeding *** proposed antenna operates at 3.5 GHz,4.1 GHz,5.5GHz,9.4GHz,and 9.8 GHz with a better return loss and *** and measured results yield a good match.

Drip irrigation provides an efficient method of fertilizer delivery and allows precise timing and uniform distribution of applied nutrients. Fertilizer application through drip irrigation (fertigation) can reduce fertilizer usage and minimize groundwater pollution due to fertilizer leaching from excessive irrigation. For this purpose, field experiments were carried out in the farmers’ field at Thoppur, Dharmapuri District, Tamil Nadu, during 2010-2012 to study the effect of spacing and fertilizer levels on the flowering, pod yield and economic viability of Bhendi Hybrid (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) under drip fertigation system. The treatments consisted of two spacings (M1—60 × 45 cm and M2— 60 × 30 cm) and eight drip fertigation levels (s1—Drip fertigation with WsF at 125 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s2—Drip fertigation with WsF at 100 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s3—Drip fertigation with WsF at 75 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s4—Drip fertigation with WsF at 100 per cent RDF, s5—Drip fertigation with sF at 125 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s6—Drip fertigation with sF at 100 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s7—Drip fertigation with sF at 75 per cent RDF + Azophosmet + Humic acid, s8—Drip fertigation with sF at 100 per cent RDF), and were replicated thrice in a split plot design. Results showed that the earliest flowering (26.21 days), 50% flowering (51.31), number of flowers per plant (25.33) and highest pod yield of 596.70 g/plant, 24.91 t/ha was registered in drip fertigation at 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizers as water soluble fertilizer combination with Azophosmet and humic acid under wider spacing. The economics of the study clearly showed that drip fertigation at 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizers as water soluble fertilizer along with Azophosmet and humic acid under wider spacing was found to record higher BCR of 2.99.

As more electric utilities and transmission system operators move toward the smart grid concept,robust fault analysis has become increasingly *** paper proposes a methodology for the detection,classification,and localization of transmission line faults using synchrophasor *** technique involves the extraction of phasors from the instantaneous three-phase voltages and currents at each bus in the system which are then decomposed into their symmetrical *** components are sent to the phasor data concentrator(PDC)for real-time fault analysis,which is completed within 2–3 cycles after fault *** advantages of this technique are its accuracy and speed,so that fault information may be appropriately communicated to facilitate system *** proposed algorithm is independent of the transmission system topology and displays high accuracy in its results,even with varying parameters such as fault distance,fault inception angle and fault *** proposed algorithm is validated using a three-bus system as well as the Western system Coordinating Council(WsCC)nine bus *** proposed algorithm is shown to accurately detect the faulted line and classify the fault in all the test cases presented.

AIM To determine if exacerbation of pre-existing chronic colitis in Winnie(Muc2 mutant) mice induces colonic *** Winnie mice and C57BL6 as a genotype control, were administered 1% w/v dextran sulphate sodium(Dss) orally, followed by drinking water alone in weeklong cycles for a total of three cycles. After the third cycle, mice were killed and colonic tissue collected for histological and immunohistochemical evaluation. Inflammation and severity of dysplasia in the colonic mucosa were assessed in H&E sections of the colon. Epithelial cell proliferation was assessed using Ki67 and aberrant β-catenin signalling assessed with enzyme-based immunohistochemistry. Extracted RNA from colonic segments was used for the analysis of gene expression using real-time quantitative PCR. Finally, the distribution of Cxcl5 was visualised using *** Compared to controls, Winnie mice exposed to three cycles of Dss displayed inflammation mostly confined to the distal-mid colon with extensive mucosal hyperplasia and regenerative atypia resembling epithelial dysplasia. Dysplasia-like changes were observed in 100% of Winnie mice exposed to Dss, with 55% of these animals displaying changes similar to high-grade dysplasia, whereas high-grade changes were absent in wild-type mice. Occasional penetration of the muscularis mucosae by atypical crypts was observed in 27% of Winnie mice after Dss. Atypical crypts however displayed no evidence of oncogenic nuclear β-catenin accumulation, regardless of histological severity. Expression of Cav1, Trp53 was differentially regulated in the distal colon of Winnie relative to wild-type mice. Expression of Myc and Ccl5 was increased by Dss treatment in Winnie only. Furthermore, increased Ccl5 expression correlated with increased complexity in abnormal crypts. While no overall difference in Cxcl5 mucosal expression was observed between treatment groups, epithelial Cxcl5 protein appeared to be diminished in the atypical e

Purpose: To assess the response and adverse events associated with infliximab treatment for refractory,noninfectious pediatric uveitis. Design: Retrospective noncomparative case series of pediatric patients with refractory uveitis treated with infliximab. Participants: six patients were identified. Diagnoses of the participants included idiopathic uveitis (n=1),juvenile rheumatoid arthritis with uveitis (n=3),idiopathic retinal vasculitis with uveitis (n=1),and bilateral pars planitis,with vitreitis and papillitis of the left eye (n=1). Uveitis developed in the patients (5 female,1 male) at a mean age of 9.0 years (± 5.0 years; range,0.9-14.8 years). All patients had bilateral eye involvement. These patients were refractory to or dependent on topical steroids (n=4),oral prednisone (n=3),or both,and were also refractory to the following therapies: methotrexate (n=6),cyclosporine (n=3),mycophenolate mofetil (n=3),etanercept (n=3),and daclizumab (n=1). Intervention: All patients initially received infliximab at doses between 5 and 10 mg/kg at 2-to 4-week intervals,and then were maintained at 4-to 8-week intervals at doses of 5 to 18 mg/kg. Mean follow-up time on treatment has been 48.1 weeks (± 14.9 weeks; range,32-74 weeks). Main Outcome Measures: Primary outcome measures included the quantitative measurement of the amount of ocular inflammation in different locations within the eye. Patients were monitored for infusion reactions as well as other potential side effects. The children’ s clinical status,complete blood counts,and liver function panels were monitored by pediatric rheumatologists every 6 weeks. Results: All 6 patients showed reduction in their intraocular inflammation after infliximab therapy was initiated. Furthermore,control of ocular inflammation was achieved while receiving infliximab therapy. Topical and systemic corticosteroids were able to be discontinued in all patients except for 1 patient,who is currently weaning off prednisone. The only adverse
