Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is a significant health concern affecting pregnant women worldwide. It is characterized by elevated blood sugar levels during pregnancy and poses risks to both maternal and fetal health. Maternal complications of GDM include an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life, as well as hypertension and preeclampsia during pregnancy. Fetal complications may include macrosomia (large birth weight), birth injuries, and an increased risk of developing metabolic disorders later in life. Understanding the demographics, risk factors, and biomarkers associated with GDM is crucial for effective management and prevention strategies. This research aims to address these aspects comprehensively through the analysis of a dataset comprising 600 pregnant women. By exploring the demographics of the dataset and employing data modeling techniques, the study seeks to identify key risk factors associated with GDM. Moreover, by analyzing various biomarkers, the research aims to gain insights into the physiological mechanisms underlying GDM and its implications for maternal and fetal health. The significance of this research lies in its potential to inform clinical practice and public health policies related to GDM. By identifying demographic patterns and risk factors, healthcare providers can better tailor screening and intervention strategies for pregnant women at risk of GDM. Additionally, insights into biomarkers associated with GDM may contribute to the development of novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic approaches. Ultimately, by enhancing our understanding of GDM, this research aims to improve maternal and fetal outcomes and reduce the burden of this condition on healthcare systems and society. Exploring Trees Diversity and Ecological Value of Mountain Forests in the Blue Nile Region of sudan

We carried out this research at Abu-Gaddaf Natural Forest Reserve (ANFR) which is located east of Blue Nile River, in Blue Nile state, sudan. It aims at exploring tree composition assessing their diversity indices, and ecological importance values. For survey of types and estimation of density of tree species in the forest, we randomly distributed 97 circular sample plots (0.1 hectare (ha)). In each sample plot we identified all trees to the species level, recorded their frequencies and computed species diversity and importance value indices (IVI). A total of 13 tree species, which belong to 12 genera and nine families, were identified in the tree layer of the forest. Mean tree density in ANFR was 116 trees/ha, composed mainly of Boswellia papyrifera (Del.) Hochst. (48), followed by Combretum hartmannianu (19) and Lannea fruticosa (18). Fabaceae was the most common family followed by Combretaceae and Malvaceae. B. papyrifera Delile Hochst was the most abundant while Acacia seyal was the least abundant species. species richness (R = 1.71), evenness (E = 0.69), dominance (0.24) indices and simpson’s Index of Diversity (D' = 0.76) suggest a moderate diversity, moderate numbers of individuals in each species and a moderate community stability. The research provides empirical results on diversity and ecological importance value of species, signifies the urging need to safeguard threatened species and to prioritize them for conservation, as well as the need to promote management of abundant species to provide multiple forest ecosystem services.

Identification of potential soil water retention using hydric numerical model at arid regions by land-use changes

Assessment of soil water retention in arid region is an input required parameter in precision water management at large *** were carried out in Tanta catchment in the middle Nile Delta,Egypt(30145 N,30155 E),where collecting soil samples covered different hydrological soil groups and *** on the natural resource conservation service curve number model(NRCs-CN),CN approach was used to investigate the effect of spatio-temporal variations of different land-uses on soil water *** soil water retention from 1990 to 2015 was reduced by 118.1 m^(3) per hectare with decreasing cropland *** encroachment from 1990 to 2015 was increased by 2.13%by decreasing cropland with 15.3%(5300 ha in 2015).This resulted in losing the potential soil water retention by 625,968.42 m^(3) water for the whole catchment *** of land degradation was pronounced,where 2.65%,29.35%,and 1.11%of the initial crop land-use in 1990 were converted to bare soil,fallow,and urban area,respectively in *** of(s)value of the NRCs-CN model with GIs technique provides useful measure to identify land-use changes of potential water storage capacity at catchment scale.

Risk Assessment Mapping of Landscape Development Based on Ecological service and Goods in Malaysia Lowland Tropical Rainforest

Amongst the impacts of converting forest to agricultural activities are soil erosion and degradation of ecology service values and goods （EsVG）. The soil erosion can be seen as on-site impacts, such as the problems of decreasing soil fertility and also its off-site impact such as the problems of sedimentation of the nearby rivers, whilst the degradation of EsVG are more holistie in nature, These impacts can be devastating in environmental, biological, and socio-economic manners. This paper reports the study undertaken on the impacts of agricultural development in 0.8 million ha of forest dominated landscape in Pasoh Forest Region （PFR）, Malaysia, within period of 8 years from 1995 to 2003. Three folds of impacts on agricultural development examined and analysed, are：（i） relationship of total soil loss and changes in land use pattern, （ii） mapping trends of EsVG for PFR in 1995 and 2003, and （iii） risk assessment of EsVG based on simulation of converting 339,630 ha of primary forest into mass-scale oil palm plantation. Results of this study indicated that although only minor changes of about 1464 ha （about 0.2% of PFR） of primary forest was converted to agricultural activities, it have significantly increased the total soil loss from 59 to 69 million ton/ha/yr. The mean rate of soil is loss for PFR is 0.8 mil ton/ha/yr and if translated into EsVG term, the soil loss costs about Us$ 4.8mil/yr. However, majority of the soil loss within all land use classes are within range of very low-low risk categories （〈10 ton/ha/yr）. EsVG for PFR were costing Us$ 179 millions in 1995, declined to Us$114 millions in 2003 due to 0.2% reduction of forested land. The EsVG of converting 339,630 ha primary forest into mass plantation cost less than original forest within period of 20 years examined; the 20th year of conversion, the EsVG of plantation and to-remain as forest cost Us$ 963 and Us$ 575 millions, respectively.
