Understanding charge transport mechanisms in thin-film transistors based on random networks of single-wall carbon nanotubes(sWCNT-TFTs)is essential for further advances to improve the potential for various nanoelectronic ***,a comprehensive investigation of the two-dimensional(2D)charge transport mechanism in sWCNT-TFTs is reported by analyzing the temperature-dependent electrical characteristics determined from the direct-current and non-quasi-static transient measurements at 80-300 *** elucidate the time-domain charge transport characteristics of the random networks in the sWCNTs,an empirical equation was derived from a theoretical trapping model,and a carrier velocity distribution was determined from the differentiation of the transient ***,charge trapping and de-trapping in shallow-and deep-traps in sWCNT-TFTs were analyzed by investigating charge transport based on their trapping/de-trapping *** comprehensive analysis of this study provides fundamental insights into the 2D charge transport mechanism in TFTs based on random networks of nanomaterial channels.

One of the outcomes of the thought provoking and stimulating conference for me was the realisation that some of the problems experienced in the Chinese context are similar to the ones Hungarian foreign language education faces. The first such issue is the efficiency of language teaching in Hungary. According to a European Union survey （European Commission, 2012）, Hungary occupies the bottom place with regard to the number of Hungarians who can speak languages other than their mother tongue. This is despite the fact that the number of teaching hours during the first two years of foreign language teaching is among the highest in Hungary within the EU （European Commission/EACEA/ Eurydice, p. 105）, and that recommended minimum for annual instruction time for foreign languages in compulsory education is more than the time spent teaching foreign languages in Austria, which is 1 lth among the 28 EU countries regarding the knowledge of foreign languages （European Commission/EACEA/Eurydice, pp. 106-7）. secondly, it seems that in Hungary, too, there is a gap between the input and the output in that the input does not always result in intake materialising in the learners＇ output. One perhaps weak excuse for the dire state of Hungarian language education may be that Hungarian, similarly to Chinese, is not an Indo-European language, albeit it is not as different from English as Chinese.

In this paper,we report on the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the nano structured Baordered phases of rare-earth manganites obtained from the optimally doped solid solutions Ln0.70Ba0.30MnO3(Ln=Pr,Nd).The materials were studied by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy and sQUID-magnetometry *** is found that states with different degrees of cation ordering in the A-sublattice of the ABO3 perovskite can be obtained by employing special conditions of chemical *** particular,reduction of the parent compounds results in the formation of a nanocomposite containing ferrimagnetic anion-deficient ordered phase *** of the composite does not change an average size of the nanocrystallites,but drastically alters their phase composition to stabilize ferromagnetic stoichiometric ordered phase LnBaMn2O6 and ferromagnetic superstoichiometric disordered phase Ln0.90Ba0.10MnO3+δ.It is shown that the magnetic properties of the materials are determined by the joint action of chemical(cation ordering)and external(surface tension)pressures.

This study investigated the impact of multiple-Doppler radar data and surface data assimilation on forecasts of heavy rainfall over the central Korean Peninsula;the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model and its three-dimensional variational data assimilation system(3DvaR) were used for this purpose. During data assimilation,the WRF 3DvaR cycling mode with incremental analysis updates(IAU) was used. A maximum rainfall of 335.0 mm occurred during a 12-h period from 2100 UTC 11 July 2006 to 0900 UTC 12 July *** radar data showed that the heavy rainfall was due to the back-building formation of mesoscale convective systems(MCss).New convective cells were continuously formed in the upstream region,which was characterized by a strong southwesterly low-level jet(LLJ).The LLJ also facilitated strong convergence due to horizontal wind shear,which resulted in maintenance of the *** assimilation of both multiple-Doppler radar and surface data improved the accuracy of precipitation forecasts and had a more positive impact on quantitative forecasting(QPF) than the assimilation of either radar data or surface data *** back-building characteristic was successfully forecasted when the multiple-Doppler radar data and surface data were *** data assimilation experiments,the radar data helped forecast the development of convective storms responsible for heavy rainfall,and the surface data contributed to the occurrence of intensified low-level *** surface data played a significant role in enhancing the thermal gradient and modulating the planetary boundary layer of the model,which resulted in favorable conditions for convection.

A series of tricyanoiron(Ⅲ) complexes with the general formula mer-[FeⅢ(5-Xsap)(CN)3]2-(X = H, Me, MeO, Cl or Br, sapH2 = N-salicylidene-o-aminophenol) have been synthesized. These complexes were characterized by IR, EsI-Ms, UV/Vis, elemental analysis and magnetic measurements. The structures of (PPh4)2[FeⅢ(sap)(CN)3] and (PPh4)2[FeⅢ(5-Mesap)(CN)3] have been determined by X-ray crystallography. These low-spin d5 tricyanoiron(Ⅲ) complexes are potential building blocks for the construction of molecule-based magnets.

Precipitable Water （PW） derived from Global Positioning system （GPs） measurements and numerical weather prediction （NWP） model analysis data were compared to further evaluate the effcacy of applying GPs-derived PW to the NWP model. The spatial and temporal variations of GPs-derived PW during a rainfall event were also examined. GPs-derived PW measurements show good agreement with the behavior of water vapor at a high spatial resolution during the analysis period. Temporal anomalies of GPs-derived PW moving along with the front are successfully detected by the GPs array. Large positive anomalies of GPs-derived PW are indicated immediately before a rainfall event, and the intensity of these positive anomalies do not seem to decrease significantly as the precipitation system passes. These results indicate that the Korean GPs network may have great potential as a PW sensor over the Korean Peninsula. In contrast with GPs-derived PW, NWP-derived PW shows negative biases. These biases appear to stem mainly from the differences between modeled and actual GPs site elevations, as GPs sites were generally located at elevations lower than those employed by the NWP model. However, there still exists a discernable dry bias after a PW correction is applied to NWP-derived PW. GPs-derived PW better reflects the spatial and temporal moisture variations of precipitation systems, as compared to NWP-derived PW. These results provide entirely new information for improving the regional NWP system, since GPs-derived PW produced with data from the Korean GPs network may be incorporated into the NWP model to improve rainfall forecasts.

Objective The nearly parallel N-s-trending rifts in southern Tibet represent the E-W extension of the Tibet Plateau. Most data which constrained the age of the extensional deformation come from isotopic dating of the dikes probably related to the activity of the nearly N-s faulting and micas from hydrothermal activity and the low- temperature thermochronology of plateau uplift. Previous research shows that there are at least three different ideas about the age of the rifts：（1） older than 16-12 Ma, （2） 14- 10 Ma, and （3） 8-4 Ma （Fig. la）. For the old sedimentary strata represented the beginning of the rifting, the dating of the sediments helps to better define the initial rifting age.

High-resolution spectral radiance measurements were taken by a spectral radiometer on board a heli- copter over the Us Oklahoma southern Great Plain near the Atmospheric Radiation Measurements (ARM) site during August 1998. The radiometer has a spectral range from 350 nm to 2500 nm at 1 nm resolution The measurements covered several grass and cropland scene types at multiple solar zenith angles. Detailed atmospheric corrections using the Moderate Resolution Transmittance (MODTRAN) radiation model and in-situ sounding and aerosol measurements have been applied to the helicopter measurements in order to re- trieve the surface and top of atmosphere (TOA) Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) characteristics. The atmospheric corrections are most significant in the visible wavelengths and in the strong water vapor absorption wavelengths in the near infrared region Adjusting the BRDF to TOA requires a larger correction in the visible channels since Rayleigh scattenng contributes significantly to the TOA reflectance. The opposite corrections to the visible and near infrarred wavelengths can alter the radiance dif- ference and ratio that many remote sensing techniques are based on, such as the normalixed difference vege- tation index (NDVI). The data show that surface BRDFs and spectral albedos are highly sensitive to the veg- etation type and soldr zenith angle while BRDF at TOA depends more on atmospheric conditions and the vi ewing geometry. Comparison with the Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy system (CEREs) derived clear sky Angular Distribution Model (ADM) for crop and grass scene type shows a standard deviation of 0.08 in broadband anisotropic function at 25°solar zenith angle and 0.15 at 50° solar zenith angle, respectively.

Purpose:This study investigates the impact of Confucius Institutes on China’s international education ***,it examines whether the establishment of Confucius Institutes has a gravitational effect on the scale of foreign students coming to ***,it discerns whether there are any association between the establishment of Confucius Institutes and the attributes of foreign students based on the type of program they ***,it identifies whether there are any differences in the impact of Confucius Institutes based on constraints such as the number of foreign students,income levels,cultural distance,and geographical ***/Approach/Methods:Based on the trade gravity model and the push–pull theory,we estimated a two-way fixed-effects model using panel data of all source countries from 1999 to ***:Results show that Confucius Institutes have helped China attract more foreign students on Chinese government scholarships,with each Institute increasing such enrolment by 1.3%.However,Confucius Institutes have resulted in a drop in the total number of foreign students studying in China,especially nondegree *** substitution effect means that the Institutes actually help China improve the composition of its foreign *** heterogeneity analysis shows that the substitution effect is primarily driven by the main source ***,this study suggests that China should establish more Confucius Institutes in Africa and Eastern Europe to maximize the catalyzing effect of Confucius ***/value:In contrast to previous studies on foreign scholarship in China,this study examines all 190 source countries from 1999 to *** comprehensive study also explores the heterogeneous effects of foreign students on trade across economic,cultural,and geographical domains.

How Participatory is Participatory Flood Risk Mapping? Voices from the Flood Prone Dharavi slum in Mumbai

Participatory flood risk mapping(PFRM) is a well-recognized and widely implemented tool for meaningful community involvement in disaster risk reduction(DRR). The effectiveness of PFRM remains anecdotal. The PFRM exercise has rarely been applied identically in two different places by two different organizations, which produces varied and uncertain outcomes. In the absence of any agreed and comprehensive framework for participatory DRR, existing studies struggle to provide a scientific account of how the structure, design, and process of PFRM ensure the effective participation of local *** study, examines what factors and methods make PFRM an effective participatory DRR tool. In this study,we first identified the process-based criteria of participation. Then we briefly introduced a participatory flood risk mapping exercise conducted in a flood-prone informal settlement in Dharavi, Mumbai. The exercise was carefully designed to meet the process criteria of effective participation. Finally, using qualitative research methods, we evaluated the effectiveness of our PFRM from the local community perspective. The findings show that ensuring community livelihood security and true involvement of marginalized groups, preparing an action plan, and incorporating fun and cultural connotations into the facilitation process are critical components that enhance community participation through PFRM in DRR.
