Molecular investigation into the transformation of recalcitrant dissolved organic sulfur in refinery sour water during stripping process

Refinery sour water primarily originates from the tops of towers in various units and coker condensate,and cannot be discharged directly to a wastewater treatment plant due to high levels of chemical oxygen demand(COD)and organic sulfur *** after the recovery of H_(2)s from the sour water by the stripping process,the effluent still contains a high concentration of dissolved organic sulfur(DOs),which can have a huge bad *** chemical composition of dissolved organic matter(DOM)in refinery wastewater has been extensively studied,the investigation of recalcitrant DOs from sour waters remains *** the present study,chemical composition of sour water DOMs(especially DOs)was investigated using fluorescence spectroscopy(excitation-emission matrix,EEM)and mass spectrometry,including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-Ms)and high-resolution Orbitrap *** GC-Ms and EEM results showed that volatile and low-aromaticity compounds were effectively removed during the stripping process,while compounds with high hydrophilicity and humification degree were found to be more *** Orbitrap Ms results showed that weak-polar oxygenated sulfur compounds were easier to be removed than oxygenated ***,the effluent still contained significant amounts of sulfur-containing compounds with multiple sulfur atoms,particularly in the form of highly unsaturated and aromatic *** Orbitrap Ms/Ms results of CHOs-containing compounds from the effluent indicate that the sulfur atoms may exist as sulfonates,disulfide bonds,*** the composition and structure of sour water DOs is crucial for the development of effective treatment processes that can target polysulfide compounds and minimize their impact on the environment.

Innovative pulsed current-assisted multi-pass rolling tests were conducted on a 12-roll mill during the rolling deformation processing of sUs304 ultra-thin *** results show that in the first rolling pass,the rolling reduction rate of a conventionally rolled sample(at room temperature)is 33.8%,which can be increased to 41.5%by pulsed current-assisted rolling,enabling the formation of an ultra-thin strip with a size of 67.3μm in only one rolling *** three passes of pulsed current-assisted rolling,the thickness of the ultra-thin strip can be further reduced to 51.7μ*** clearly compare the effects of a pulsed current on the microstructure and mechanical response of the ultra-thin strip,ultra-thin strips with nearly the same thickness reduction were *** was found that pulsed current can reduce the degree of work-hardening of the rolled samples by promoting dislocation detachment,reducing the density of stacking faults,inhibiting martensitic phase transformation,and shortening the total length of grain *** a result,the ductility of ultra-thin strips can be effectively restored to approximately 16.3%while maintaining a high tensile strength of 1118 ***,pulsed current-assisted rolling deformation shows great potential for the formation of ultra-thin strips with a combination of high strength and ductility.

Nitrification,a central process in the marine nitrogen cycle,produces regenerated nitrate in the euphotic zone and emits N_(2)O,a potent greenhouse gas as a *** regulatory mechanisms of nitrification in the southern Ocean,which is a critical region for CO_(2)sequestration and radiative benefits,remain poorly ***,we investigated the in situ and dark nitrification rates in the upper 500 m and conducted substrate kinetics experiments across the Indian sector in the Cosmonaut and Cooperation seas in the late austral *** findings indicate that light inhibition of nitrification decreases exponentially with depth,exhibiting a light threshold of 0.53%photosynthetically active radiation.A positive relationship between dark nitrification and apparent oxygen utilization suggests a dependence on substrate availability from primary ***,an increased NH_(4)^(+) supply can act as a buffer against photo-inhibitory ***,substrate affinity(α)increases with depth and transitions from light to dark,decreases with increasing ambient NH_(4)^(+)and exhibits a latitudinal distribution,reflecting substrate utilization *** also reveal that upwelling in Circumpolar Deep Water(CDW)stimulates nitrification through the introduction of potentially higher iron and deep diverse nitrifying microorganisms with higherα.We conclude that although light is the primary limiting factor for nitrification in summer,coupling between substrate availability and CDW upwelling can overcome this limitation,thereby alleviating photoinhibition by up to 45%±5.3%.

small tracking error correction for electro-optical systems is essential to improve the tracking precision of future mechanical and defense *** threats,such as“low,slow,and small(Lss)”moving targets,pose increasing challenges to *** core goal of this work is to address the issues,such as small tracking error correction and aiming control,of electro-optical detection systems by using mechatronics drive modeling,composite velocity–image stability control,and improved interpolation filter design.A tracking controller delay prediction method for moving targets is proposed based on the Euler transformation model of a two-axis,two-gimbal cantilever beam coaxial *** tracking error formation is analyzed in detail to reveal the scientific mechanism of composite control between the tracking controller’s feedback and the motor’s velocity–stability *** improved segmental interpolation filtering algorithm is established by combining line of sight(LOs)position correction and multivariable typical tracking fault ***,a platform with 2 degrees of freedom is used to test the *** Lss moving target shooting object with a tracking distance of s=100 m,target board area of A=1 m^(2),and target linear velocity of v=5 m/s is *** show that the optimal method’s distribution probability of the tracking error in a circle with a radius of 1 mrad is 66.7%,and that of the traditional method is 41.6%.Compared with the LOs shooting accuracy of the traditional method,the LOs shooting accuracy of the optimized method is improved by 37.6%.

Effect of surfactant frequently used in soil flushing on oxygen mass transfer in micro-nano-bubble aeration system

In-site soil flushing and aeration are the typical synergetic remediation technology for contaminated *** surfactant present in flushing solutions is bound to affect the aeration *** purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of surfactant frequently used in soil flushing on the oxygen mass transfer in micro-nano-bubble(MNB)aeration ***,bio-surfactants and chemical surfactants were used to investigate their effects on sauter mean diameter of bubble(dBs),gas holdup(ε),volumetric mass-transfer coefficient(kLa)and liquid-side mass-transfer coefficient(kL)in the MNB aeration ***,based upon the experimental results,the sardeing's and Frossling's models were modified to describe the effect of surfactant on kL in the MNB *** results showed that,for the twenty aqueous surfactant solutions,with the increase in surfactant concentration,the value of dBs,kLa and kL decreased,while the value ofεand gas-liquid interfacial area(a)*** phenomena were mainly attributed to the synergistic effects of immobile bubble surface and the suppression of coalescence in the surfactant *** addition,with the presence of electric charge,MNBs in anionic surfactant solutions were smaller and higher in number than in non-ionic surfactant ***,the accumulation of surfactant on the gas-liquid interface was more conspicuous for small MNB,so the reduction of kL in anionic surfactant solutions was larger than that in non-ionic surfactant ***,the modified Frossling's model predicted the effect of surfactant on kL in MNB aeration system with reasonable accuracy.

Polyethylene oxide(PEO)-based solid-state electrolytes are considered ideal for electrolyte materials in solid-state lithium metal batteries(ssLMBs).However,practical applications are hindered by the lower conductivity and poor interfacial ***,we propose a strategy to construct a three-dimensional(3D)fiber network of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs).Composite solid electrolytes(CsEs)with continuous ion transport pathways were fabricated by filling a PEO polymer matrix in fibers containing interconnected *** 3D fiber network provides a fast Li+transport path and effectively improves the ionic conductivity(1.36×10^(-4) s·cm^(-1),30℃).In addition,the network of interconnected MOFs not only effectively traps the anions,but also provides sufficient mechanical strength to prevent the growth of Li *** from the advantages of structural design,the CsEs stabilize the Li/electrolyte interface and extend the cycle life of the Li-symmetric cells to 3000 *** assembled ssLMBs exhibit excellent cycling performance at both room and high *** addition,the constructed pouch cells can provide an areal capacity of 0.62 mA·h·cm^(-2),which can still operate under extreme *** work provides a new strategy for the design of CsEs with continuous structure and stable operation of ssLMBs.
