Quantification of grain boundary effects on the geometrically necessary dislocation density evolution and strain hardening of polycrystalline Mg-4Al using in situ tensile testing in scanning electron microscope and HR-EBsD

In situ tensile testing in a scanning electron microscope(sEM)in conjunction with high-resolution electron backscatter diffraction(HR-EBsD)under load was used to characterize the evolution of geometrically necessary dislocation(GND)densities at individual grain boundaries as a function of applied strain in a polycrystalline Mg-4Al *** increase in GND density was investigated at plastic strains of 0%,0.6%,2.2%,3.3% from the area including 76 grains and correlated with(i)geometric compatibility between slip systems across grain boundaries,and(ii)plastic *** develop expressions for the grain boundary GND density evolution as a function of plastic strain and plastic incompatibility,from which uniaxial tensile stress-strain response of polycrystalline Mg-4Al are computed and compared with experimental *** findings in this study contribute to understanding the mechanisms governing the strain hardening response of single-phase polycrystalline alloys and more reliable prediction of mechanical behaviors in diverse microstructures.

The present research employs artificial intelligence to come up with an automatic solution for the modulation's classification of various radio signal *** a result,the work we performed involved selecting the database required for supervised deep learning,evaluating the performance of current techniques on unprocessed communication signals,and suggesting a deep learning networkbased method that would enable the classification of modulation types with the best possible ratio between computation time and *** started by examining the automatic classification models that are currently in *** light of the difficulty of forecasting in low signal Noise Ratio(sNR)situations,we suggested an ensemble learning strategy based on adjusted Res Net and Transformer Neural Network,which is effective at extracting multi-scale features from the raw I/Q sequence ***,we produced an architecture that is simple to use and apply to communication *** architecture of this solution is strong and optimal,enabling it to determine the type of modulation with up to 95%accuracy automatically.

Oral cancer (OC) is the most common form of head and neck cancer. Despite the high incidence and unfavourable patient outcomes, currently, there are no biomarkers for the early detection of OC. This study aims to discover, develop, and validate a novel saliva-based microRNA signature for early diagnosis and prediction of OC risk in oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMD).The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) miRNA sequencing data and small RNA sequencing data of saliva samples were used to discover differentially expressed miRNAs. Identified miRNAs were validated in saliva samples of OC (n=50), OPMD (n=52), and controls(n=60) using quantitative real-time PCR. Eight differentially expressed miRNAs (miR-7-5p, miR-10b-5p, miR-182-5p, miR-215-5p,miR-431-5p, miR-486-3p, miR-3614-5p, and miR-4707-3p) were identified in the discovery phase and were validated. The efficiency of our eight-miRNA signature to discriminate OC and controls was:area under curve (AUC):0.954, sensitivity:86%, specificity:90%,positive predictive value (PPV):87.8%and negative predictive value (NPV):88.5%whereas between OC and OPMD was:AUC:0.911,sensitivity:90%, specificity:82.7%, PPV:74.2%and NPV:89.6%. We have developed a risk probability score to predict the presence or risk of OC in OPMD patients. We established a salivary miRNA signature that can aid in diagnosing and predicting OC,revolutionising the management of patients with OPMD. Together, our results shed new light on the management of OC by salivary miRNAs to the clinical utility of using miRNAs derived from saliva samples.

Objectives:Chronic rhinosinusitis is one of the common diseases that cause morbidity and affects a person's quality of *** tried to provide a more appropriate and effective approach to selecting patients for endoscopic sinus ***:The study population is chronic rhinosinusitis children referred to the ear,nose,and throat clinic of two general hospitals in Tehran,Iran,who have previously undergone sufficient drug treatment and have not *** Lund–Mackay score is calculated by examining the computed tomography(CT)*** sino-nasal Outcome Test-22(sNOT-22)questionnaire was provided to the patients before the operation,after the operation,and 3 and 6 months later in the ***:Before the operation,the most sNOT-22 score people were in the range of 40–59 *** sNOT-22 score before the operation is significantly different from 3 and 6 months after the *** highest frequency of Lund–Mackay CT(LMCT)scan score was in the range of 18–23 *** LMCT scan score did not show any significant relationship with the sNOT-22 score before surgery,3 months,and 6 months after *** to aspirin had a significant relationship with sNOT-22 scores and the history of asthma and nasal polyps had a significant relationship with the preoperative LMCT scan ***:The LMCT scan scoring system cannot be a good measure of chronic rhinosinusitis severity or the prognosis of patients after *** sNOT-22 questionnaire can be used as a predictive tool to help the doctor and the patient in deciding to operate and the possibility of obtaining a relative recovery.

In this study, we investigate the photoluminescence （PL） properties of γ and θ-alumina nanoparticles synthesized by the chemical wet method followed by annealing. The obtained experimental results indicate the presence of some favorable near ultraviolet （NUV）-orange luminescent centers for usage in various luminescence applications, such as oxygen vacancies （F, F＋, F2＋, and F2 centers）, OH related defects, cation interstitial centers, and some new luminescence bands attributed to trapped-hole centers or donor-acceptor centers. The energy states of each defect are discussed in detail. The defects mentioned could alter the electronic structure by producing some energy states in the band gap that result in the optical absorption in the middle ultraviolet （MUV） region. spectra show that photoionazation of F and F2 centers plays a crucial role in providing either free electrons for the conduction band, or the photoconversions of aggregated oxygen va- cancies into each other, or mobile electrons for electrons-holes recombination process by the shockley-Read-Hall （sRH） mechanism.

Displaying a two-dimensional pure crystal carbon structure,Graphene is the strongest,yet thinnest substance discovered by *** tungsten carbide(TC)drill bits with graphene to evaluate the effect of graphene on the wear,as well as the rate of penetration of the drilling bit was examined in this *** evaluation approaches were employed:one with employing ANsYs software and the second by employing atomic pressure chemical vapor deposition(APCVD synthesis)in the laboratory to produce a monolayer graphene *** simultaneous software-based and lab-based testing were performed to increase the credibility of the results and minimize the potential *** the simulation using ANsYs,the maximum shear elastic strain,equivalent elastic strain,equivalent(von mises)stress,total deformation and maximum shear stress were investigated prior and after the gra-phene coating was applied on TC simulated *** deformation was only slightly increased,while the maximum shear elastic strain was almost doubled,reflecting that the bit's wear was significantly reduced after the ***-based APCVD synthesis results showed 34%increase in compressive strength of the coated bit,in comparison to the uncoated *** failure occurred for uncoated bit at 35 MPa,where the coated bit experienced failure at 46.9 *** Von Mises stress test conducted on the coated and uncoated samples also indicated that this stress was 41%less for the coated bit,in comparison to the uncoated ***,two small-scale drilling operations,one using a 1inch graphene-coated TC bit and the other using a 1inch non-coated TC bit,were performed on a granite block,to evaluate the performance of the graphene-coated bit in *** a chosen 120-min time frame,27 consecutive holes could be drilled by the graphene-coated TC bit,while 19 consecutive holes could be drilled by the uncoated TC bit,in identical drilling *** implies a 42%increase in ROP.

·AIM:To report the characteristics and clinical presentations of retinoblastoma in a series of pediatric patients from Iran. ·METHODs:In this retrospective study, profiles of pediatric patients with retinoblastoma archived in a referral eye hospital in north-west of Iran during 7 years (n =40 patients with 57 eyes) were reviewed. Demographics, as well as the laterality, clinical manifestations and the types of treatment were the major endpoints. The student’s t test, Mann-Whitney U -test, Chi-square or Fishers’ Exact test was used for analysis where appropriate. ·REsULTs:There were 23 cases (57.7%) with unilateral and 17 cases (42.5%) with bilateral involvement. The male to female ratio was 1 to 1.4 with a mean admitting age of 24.0±11.3 (range:5-62) months. The mean diagnosis delay was (7.4±9.6) months (range:10 days to 13 months). The most common presenting sign was leukocoria (97.5%) followed by proptosis (7.5%), strabismus (7.5%), hyphema (5%), orbital cellulitis (5%) and glaucoma (2.5%). Enucleation was performed in 95.7% of the cases with unilateral involvement and at least one eye of the patients with bilateral disease. A second enucleation was performed in other 3 patients (17.6%) of the latter group. ·CONCLUsION:This is the first study evaluating a series of Iranian children with retinoblastoma.
