We propose the usage of formal languages for expressing instances of NP-complete problems for their application in polynomial transformations. The proposed approach, which consists of using formal language theory for polynomial transformations, is more robust, more practical, and faster to apply to real problems than the theory of polynomial transformations. In this paper we propose a methodology for transforming instances between NP-complete problems, which differs from Garey and Johnson's. Unlike most transformations which are used for proving that a problem is NP-complete based on the NP-completeness of another problem, the proposed approach is intended for extrapolating some known characteristics, phenomena, or behaviors from a problem A to another problem B. This extrapolation could be useful for predicting the performance of an algorithm for solving B based on its known performance for problem A, or for taking an algorithm that solves A and adapting it to solve B.

The present investigation is based on the results of a directionally solidified （Ds） sn-9 wt%Zn-2 wt%Cu alloy, including primary/secondary/tertiary dendrite arm spacings of the sn-rich matrix, the morphologies of the eutectic mixture and the corresponding interphase spacing, the nature and proportion of the Cu-Zn intermetallic compound （IMC）. The main purpose is to establish interrelations of these microstructure features with experimental solidification thermal parameters, such as cooling rates and growth rates （v）, macrosegregation and hardness. such interrelations are interesting for both industry and academy since they represent a tool permitting the preprogramming of final properties based on the design of the microstructure. In the case of sn-Zn-Cu alloys, hardly anything is known about the combined effects of the length scale of the microstructure and fraction and distribution of the primary IMC on hardness. The alloy microstructure is composed of a β-sn dendritic region, surrounded by a eutectic mixture of α-Zn and β-sn phases and the γ-Cu5Zn8 IMC. The eutectic interphase spacing varies in the range 1.2-3.6 μm, with the α-Zn phase having a globular morphology for ν 〉 0.5 mm/s and a needle-like morphology for ν 〈 0.3 mm/s. A modified Hall-Petch-type experimental expression relating hardness to the interphase spacing is proposed.

H py/ori is probably the most prevalent human pathogen worldwide. since it was initially suggested in 1983 by Marshall and Warren to be implicated in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, H pylori has also been implicated in gastric carcinoma and was classified as a class I carcinogen. In the last two decades, a noteworthy body of research has revealed the multiple processes that this gram negative bacterium activates to cause gastroduodenal disease in humans. Most infections are acquired early in life and may persist for the life of the individual. While infected individuals mount an inflammatory response that becomes chronic, along with a detectable adaptive immune response, these responses are ineffective in clearing the infection. Hpylori has unique features that allow it to reside within the harsh conditions of the gastric environment, and also to evade the host immune response. In this review, we discuss the various virulence factors expressed by this bacterium and how they interact with the host epithelium to influence pathogenesis.

Canola and oat forage potential may be affected by climatic conditions when sown *** objective of this study was to evaluate the forage canola and oat potential in four early sowing dates(september 11 and 25;October 9 and 23)during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 cycles in Matamoros,Coahuila,*** cycle duration,chemical composition,dry matter(DM),crude protein(CP),and net energy for lactation(NEL)yields were *** temperatures and long photoperiods affected crops seeded on september 11,accelerating growth and reducing canola(26.6%-31.7%)and oat(15.8%)DM *** of september 25,canola cv IMC 205 reached DM yields(7746 kg ha^(-1)-9276 kg ha^(-1))similar to those obtained by oat(8115 kg ha^(-1)-9507 kg ha^(-1)),while canola cv Hyola 401 obtained such yields only until October *** chemical composition was better than that found in oat,with higher CP,but lower acid detergent fiber(ADF)and neutral detergent fiber(NDF)*** equaled oat CP yields(972 kg ha^(-1)-1215 kg ha^(-1))in the first sowing date,while in the other three other canola sowings reached higher yields(1193 kg ha^(-1)-1889 kg ha^(-1)).As for NEL yields,no difference was observed between both *** best sowing date for canola is from september 25 on,with CP production advantages over oat.

Diverse models have been proposed for explaining the electrical performance of memristive devices. In principle, the behavior of internal variables associated to each one could be extracted from experimental results. In a former work, thermally grown TiOmemristive structures were built and characterized to obtain the constitutive relationship(magnetic flux versus charge). The aim of this work is to continue that analysis by determining the microscopic parameters within the frame of a simple model. We use the already obtained memristance dependence of time and the basic expressions from the non-linear model proposed by strukov et al. to compute the state-variable,the mobility of the doping species, the speed of the boundary between the doped and the undoped regions, the voltages and the electric fields on the distinct regions. The power dissipation and its time evolution are also presented. Moreover, a quite different window function from those formerly proposed, which was estimated from experimental data, is also determined. This information provides a straightforward picture of the ionic transport during one cycle of a square voltage waveform within the framework of this simple model. Finally, a quality factor is proposed as the key parameter for actual memristors viewed under the same model.

Adsorption of cobalt by using inorganic components of sediment samples from water bodies

The adsorption of cobalt ions was evaluated using sediment samples from water bodies to investigate the adsorption properties of sediment and the behavior of these natural materials in the presence of nuclear and industrial waste. The two sediments(s1 and s2) were treated to eliminate humic and fulvic acids and then they were characterized by several techniques. The minerals found in both the sediments(X-ray diffraction) were quartz and albite; plus, goethite and muscovite in s1, and kaolinite and montmorillonite in s2. Point of zero charge(PZC) of s1 and s2 was 6.00 and 5.22, respectively. The specific area of s1(63.3 m2/g) is higher than s2(1.5 m2/g). Adsorption kinetics data for s1 and s2 were best fitted to the pseudo second-order model. The removal efficiency of s1 for cobalt was 96% with an adsorption capacity(qe) of 0.93 mg/g, and for s2 was 45% with a qeof 0.40 mg/g. The experimental data of the adsorption isotherms were adjusted to Langmuir and Freundlich models for s1 and s2, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters(enthalpy, entropy, and Gibb’s free energy) indicated that the adsorption processes were endothermic, spontaneous, and chemisorption mechanism. The results show that the adsorption capacities of the sediments depend on their composition. These water sediments have important adsorption properties for cobalt, and they can be used in the treatment of nuclear and industrial aqueous wastes.
