Meteorite impact craters as hotspots for mineral resources and energy fuels:A global review

The ever-increasing recovery rate of natural resources from terrestrial impact craters over the last fewdecades across the globe offers new avenues for further exploration of mineral and hydrocarbon resources in such *** of today,60 of the 208 terrestrial craters have been identified to host diverseresources such as hydrocarbons,metals and construction *** potential of craters as plausibleresource contributors to the energy sector is therefore,worthy of consideration,as 42(70%)of the 60craters host energy resources such as oil,gas,coal,uranium,mercury,critical and major minerals as wellas hydropower *** others,19 craters are of well-developed hydrocarbon *** associated with craters are also classified similar to other mineral resources such as progenetic,syngenetic and epigenetic *** these,the progenetic and syngenetic mineralization are confinedto the early and late excavation stage of impact crater evolution,respectively,whereas epigenetic deposits are formed during and after the modification stage of crater ***,progenetic andsyngenetic mineral deposits(like Fe,Ni,Pb,Zn and Cu)associated with craters are formed as a directresult of the impact event,whereas epigenetic deposits(***)are hosted by the impactstructure and result from post-impact *** the progenetic and syngenetic deposits,the shockwave induced fracturing and melting aid the formation of deposits,whereas in the epigenetic deposits,the highly fractured lithostratigraphic units of higher porosity and permeability,like the centralelevated area(CEA)or the rim,act as *** this review,we provide a holistic view of the mineral andenergy resources associated with impact craters,and use some of the remote sensing techniques toidentify the mineral deposits as supplemented by a schematic model of the types of deposits formedduring cratering process.

Effect of fuel additives on agricultural straw pellet quality

An investigation was conducted to determine the effect of addition of different levels of AK2,a fuel additive that reduces ash fusion for agricultural biomass,on the physico-chemical properties of biomass *** different biomass straws,barley,oat,and wheat were ground at two hammer mill screen sizes of 0.8 mm and 1.6 *** ground biomass sample was mixed with three levels of AK2,0.05%,0.10%,and 0.15%by mass and also a blank(no AK2)was set aside for *** were made using single-pelleting unit at a pre-set load of 4400 N corresponding to a pressure of 138.9 *** quality of pellets were determined by measuring pellet density,relaxed density,durability,and the specific energy required to make a *** having higher durability values(74%-88%)were obtained from ground straw at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm and AK2 level of 0.15%compared to other ***,hydrogen,nitrogen,and sulfur content of blank pellets and those with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm were *** made with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm,manufactured by pilot-scale pellet mill,were gasified and the tar content was *** tar content of pellets with 0.15%AK2 was significantly lower than blank pellets.

Knowledge,attitude and anxiety pertaining to basic life support and medical emergencies among dental interns in Mangalore City,India

BACKGROUND: This cross-sectional study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude and anxiety pertaining to basic life support(BLs) and medical emergencies among interns in dental colleges of Mangalore city, Karnataka, ***: The study subjects comprised of interns who volunteered from the four dental colleges. The knowledge and attitude of interns were assessed using a 30-item questionnaire prepared based on the Basic Life support Manual from American Heart Association and the anxiety of interns pertaining to BLs and medical emergencies were assessed using a state-Trait Anxiety Inventory(sTAI) Questionnaire. Chi-square test was performed on sPss 21.0(IBM statistics, 2012) to determine statistically signifi cant differences(Pssessed knowledge and ***: Out of 183 interns, 39.89% had below average knowledge. A total of 123(67.21%) reported unavailability of professional training. The majority(180, 98.36%) felt the urgent need of training in basic life support procedures. Assessment of stress showed a total of 27.1% participants to be above highstress level. Comparison of assessed knowledge and stress was found to be insignifi cant(P=0.983).CONCLUsION: There was an evident lack of knowledge pertaining to the management of medical emergencies among the interns. As oral health care providers moving out to the society, a focus should be placed on the training of dental interns with respect to Basic Life support procedures.

New carbazole based dyes as effective co-sensitizers for DssCs sensitized with ruthenium(Ⅱ) complex(NCsU-10)

Herein, we report the design and synthesis of three new D-A type metal-free carbazole based dyes（s1-3）as effective co-sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cell（DssC） sensitized with Ru（Ⅱ） complex（NCsU-10）.In this new design, the electron rich carbazole unit was attached to three different electron withdrawing/anchoring species, viz. 4-amino benzoic acid, sulfanilic acid and barbituric acid. The dyes were characterized by spectral, photophysical and electrochemical analysis. Their optical and electrochemical parameters along with molecular geometries, optimized from DFT have been employed to apprehend the effect of the structures of these co-sensitizers on the photovoltaic performances. Further, s1-3 dyes were co-sensitized along with a well-known NCsU-10 dye in order to broaden the spectral response of the co-sensitized devices and hence improve the efficiency. The photovoltaic performance studies indicated that, the device fabricated using s1 dye as co-sensitizer with 0.2 mM of NCsU-10 exhibited improved PCE of 9.55% with JsC of 22.85 mA cm-2, VOC of 0.672 V and FF of 62.2%, whereas the DssC fabricated with dye NCsU-10（0.2 mM） alone displayed PCE of 8.25% with JsC of 20.41 mA cm-2, VOC of 0.667 V and FF of 60.6%. Furthermore, electronic excitations simulated using time-dependent DFT, were in good agreement with the experimentally obtained results of the co-sensitizers, indicating that the exchange-correlation function and basis set utilized for predicting the spectra of the co-sensitizers are quite appropriate for the calculations. In conclusion, the results showed the potential of simple organic co-sensitizers in the development of efficient DssCs.

Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt complicated by the development of hepatocellular carcinoma

Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt,also known as Abernethy malformation, is a rare congenital malformation. It causes shunting of blood through a communication between the portal and systemic veins such as a patent ductus venous. We report 3 cases of Abernethy malformation complicated by the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Additionally, we comprehensively reviewed all previously reported cases and highlighted common features that may help in early diagnosis and appropriate *** with Abernethy malformation may have an increased propensity to develop hepatocellular carcinoma. All 5 previously reported cases, plus the three of our patients, have a type 1（complete） shunt suggesting a role for absent portal blood flow in the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt should be sought for in cases with raised serum ammonia, hepatic encephalopathy or hepatocellular carcinoma in the absence of cirrhosis.

Ferromagnetic–paramagnetic transition temperature in bulk and nanostructured La_(0.7)sr_xCa_(0.3-x)MnO_3(x=0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) manganite materials

series of bulk and nanostructured La0.7srxCa0.3-xMnO3（x = 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20） manganites were synthesized and characterized using different techniques. In the series, both the bulk and nanostructured La0.7sr0.10Ca0.20MnO3 and La0.7sr0.20Ca0.10MnO3 manganites have orthorhombic and rhombohedral structures, whereas La0.7sr0.15Ca0.15MnO3 manganite has rhombohedral and orthorhombic structures, respectively. Online ultrasonic velocity and attenuation measurements were taken through an indigenously designed ultrasonic setup, and the analysis was done from 300 to 400 K during the aging of the samples to explore the structural/phase transitions. The bulk and nanocrystalline La0.7srxCa0.3-xMnO3 perovskite samples show the particle size distribution in the range of 197-943 and 24-93 nm, respectively. The addition of sr^2＋ alters the size of particles, which decrease in size. The observed anomaly in ultrasonic velocities, attenuations, and elastic moduli is correlated with the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic（FM-PM） transition temperature（TC） in both bulk and nanocrystalline perovskites. In addition, the shift in TC and the magnitude and width of observed anomaly are correlated with the value of x to study the behavior of TC.

Interleaved high-gain boost converter powered by solar energy using hybrid-based MPP tracking technique

This paper presents a solar-powered interleaved high-gain boost converter(IHGBC)that increases voltage gain with fewer ripples in the output voltage in comparison to existing DC-DC *** goal of this research is to develop a hybrid-based maximum power point tracking(MPPT)approach with the combination of a flower pollination(FP)algorithm assisted with a perturb&observe(P&O)MPPT approach for solar photovoltaic(sPV)systems integrated with *** ensure effective usage of both FP and P&O algorithms,this study incorporates and validates the hybrid-based MPPT *** proposed solar-powered IHGBC with a hybrid-based MPPT algorithm has been computationally modelled and simulated using MATLAB®and simulink®for both uniform and non-uniform irradiation and analysed for voltage gain,ripples in the output waveforms and convergence *** proposed hybrid-based MPPT is based on a number of flowers that forecast the initial global peak,assisted by P&O in the last stage for faster convergence to attain the maximum power point(MPP).As a result,the hybrid-based MPPT approach alleviates the computational issues encountered in P&O and FP-based MPP *** proposed hybrid MPPT is compared with conventional MPPT for sPV and the results show that the solar-powered IHGBC using a hybrid-based MPPT technique has negligible oscillations of 0.14%with a high-voltage gain of 7.992 and a fast convergence rate of 0.05 seconds compared to individual P&O-based MPPT and FP-based MPPT *** simulation results of the proposed MPPT with IHGBC outperform the conventional MPPT with high-gain converters.

Recent developments in information technology can be attributed to the development of smart cities which act as a key enabler for next-generation intelligent systems to improve security,reliability,and *** healthcare sector becomes advantageous and offers different ways to manage patient information in order to improve healthcare service *** futuristic sustainable computing solutions in e-healthcare applications depend upon Internet of Things(IoT)in cloud computing *** energy consumed during data communication from IoT devices to cloud server is significantly high and it needs to be reduced with the help of clustering *** current research article presents a new Oppositional Glowworm swarm Optimization(OGsO)algorithmbased clustering with Deep Neural Network(DNN)called OGsO-DNN model for distributed healthcare *** OGsO algorithm was applied in this study to select the Cluster Heads(CHs)from the available IoT *** selected CHs transmit the data to cloud server,which then executes DNN-based classification process for healthcare *** extensive simulation analysis was carried out utilizing a student perspective healthcare data generated from UCI repository and IoT devices to forecast the severity level of the disease among *** proposed OGsO-DNN model outperformed previous methods by attaining the maximum average sensitivity of 96.956%,specificity of 95.076%,the accuracy of 95.764%and F-score value of 96.888%.
