TianXing:A Linear Complexity Transformer Model with Explicit Attention Decay for Global Weather Forecasting

In this paper,we introduce TianXing,a transformer-based data-driven model designed with physical augmentation for skillful and efficient global weather *** data-driven transformer models such as pangu-Weather,FengWu,and FuXi have emerged as promising alternatives for numerical weather prediction in weather ***,these models have been characterized by their substantial computational resource consumption during training and limited incorporation of explicit physical guidance in their modeling *** contrast,TianXing applies a linear complexity mechanism that ensures proportional scalability with input data size while significantly diminishing GpU resource demands,with only a marginal compromise in ***,TianXing proposes an explicit attention decay mechanism in the linear attention derived from physical insights to enhance its forecasting *** mechanism can reweight attention based on Earth's spherical distances and learned sparse multivariate coupling relationships,promptingTianXing to prioritize dynamically relevant neighboring ***,to enhance its performance in mediumrange forecasting,TianXing employs a stacked autoregressive forecast *** of the model's architecture is conducted using ERA5 reanalysis data at a 5.625°latitude-longitude resolution,while a high-resolution dataset at 0.25°is utilized for training the actual forecasting ***,the TianXing exhibits excellent performance,particularly in the Z500(geopotential height)and T850(temperature)fields,surpassing previous data-driven models and operational fullresolution models such as NCEp GFs and ECMWF IFs,as evidenced by latitude-weighted RMsE and ACC ***,the TianXing has demonstrated remarkable capabilities in predicting extreme weather events,such as typhoons.

Drone photography is an essential building block of intelligent transportation,enabling wide-ranging monitoring,precise positioning,and rapid ***,the high computational cost of transformer-based methods in object detection tasks hinders real-time result transmission in drone target detection ***,we propose mask adaptive transformer (MAT) tailored for such ***,we introduce a structure that supports collaborative token sparsification in support windows,enhancing fault tolerance and reducing computational *** structure comprises two modules:a binary mask strategy and adaptive window self-attention (A-WsA).The binary mask strategy focuses on significant objects in various complex *** A-WsA mechanism is employed to self-attend for balance perfomance and computational cost to select objects and isolate all contextual *** experiments on the challenging CarpK and VisDrone datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed ***,it achieves a mean average precision (mAp@0.5) improvement of 1.25%over car detector based on you only look once version 5 (CD-YOLOv5) on the CarpK dataset and a 3.75%average precision(Ap@0.5) improvement over cascaded zoom-in detector (CZ Det) on the VisDrone dataset.

Arsenic exposure and oxidative damage to lipid,DNA,and protein among general Chinese adults:A repeated-measures cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Arsenic-related oxidative stress and resultant diseases have attracted global concern,while longitudinal studies are *** assess the relationship between arsenic exposure and systemic oxidative damage,we performed two repeatedmeasures among 5236 observations(4067 participants)in theWuhan-Zhuhai cohort at the baseline and follow-up after 3 *** total arsenic,biomarkers of DNA oxidative damage(8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine(8-OHdG)),lipid peroxidation(8-isoprostaglandin F2alpha(8-isopGF2α)),and protein oxidative damage(protein carbonyls(pCO))were detected for all *** we used linearmixed models to estimate the cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between arsenic exposure and oxidative ***-response curves were constructed by utilizing the generalized additive mixed models with thin plate *** adjusting for potential confounders,arsenic level was significantly and positively related to the levels of global oxidative damage and their annual increased rates in dose-response *** cross-sectional analyses,each 1%increase in arsenic levelwas associated with a 0.406%(95%confidence interval(CI):0.379%to 0.433%),0.360%(0.301%to 0.420%),and 0.079%(0.055%to 0.103%)increase in 8-isopGF2α,8-OHdG,and pCO,*** importantly,arsenic was further found to be associated with increased annual change rates of 8-isopGF2α(β:0.147;95%CI:0.130 to 0.164),8-OHdG(0.155;0.118 to 0.192),and pCO(0.050;0.035 to 0.064)in the longitudinal *** study suggested that arsenic exposurewas not only positively related with global oxidative damage to lipid,DNA,and protein in cross-sectional analyses,but also associated with annual increased rates of these biomarkers in dose-dependent manners.

Locations around the equator provide unique habitats for microalgae presumably with exceptional *** develop microalga-derived product systems,we previously created a(sub)tropical microalgal *** this study,two Chlorella strains(MEM176 and MEM193),adaptive to typical tropical climate,were isolated from the *** production performance was evaluated where both strains showed a robust growth in high temperatures and light ***,the strains MEM176 and MEM193 produced 503.6-mg/(L·d)and 411.3-mg/(L·d)biomass,respectively,with high contents of *** commercial and nutritional values were emphasized by amino acid compositions(e.g.,proline,valine,and phenylalanine).particularly,higher amounts of proline were revealed in MEM176(47.9 mg/g dry biomass(DW))and MEM193(47.9 and 59.2 mg/g DW)than available commercial *** with MEM193,MEM176 produced 129.7%more lipids in which unsaturated fatty acids(particularly linoleic acid andα-linolenic acid)account for 65%of the total ***,it is promising to explore the potential of these Chlorella strains as food additives via outdoor cultivation in tropical area,notably MEM176 that exhibits superiority as sources of essential amino acids and valuable fatty acids.

Different fates of sb(Ⅲ)and sb(V)during the formation of jarosite mediated by Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans

poplar plantations are often established on nitrogen-poor land,and poplar growth and wood formation are constrained by low nitrogen(LN)***,the molecular mechanisms by which specific genes regulate wood formation in acclimation to LN availability remain ***,we report a previously unrecognized module,basic region/leucine zipper 55(ptobZIp55)–ptoMYB170,which regulates the wood formation of populus tomentosa in acclimation to LN ***55 was highly expressed in poplar wood and induced by *** wood anatomical properties and increased lignification were detected in ptobZIp55-overexpressing poplars,whereas the opposite results were detected in ptobZIp55-knockout *** and transgenic analyses revealed that ptobZIp55 directly binds to the promoter sequence of ptoMYB170to activate its *** phenotypes of ptoMYB170 transgenic poplars were similar to those of ptobZIp55 transgenic poplars under LN *** molecular analyses revealed that ptoMYB170 directly bound the promoter sequences of lignin biosynthetic genes to activate their transcription to increase lignin concentrations in LN-treated poplar *** results suggest that ptobZIp55 activates ptoMYB170 transcription,which in turn positively regulates lignin biosynthetic genes,increasing lignin deposition in the wood of *** in the context of acclimation to LN availability.

The ketogenic diet(KD) has attracted attention in recent years for its potential anticancer effects. KD is a dietary structure of high fat,moderate protein, and extremely low carbohydrate content. Originally introduced as a treatment for epilepsy, KD has been widely applied in weight loss programs and the management of metabolic diseases. previous studies have shown that KD can potentially inhibit the growth and spread of cancer by limiting energy supply to tumor cells, thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, reducing oxidative stress in normal cells, and affecting cancer cell signaling and other processes. Moreover, KD has been shown to influence T-cell-mediated immune responses and inflammation by modulating the gut microbiota, enhance the efficacy of standard cancer treatments, and mitigate the complications of chemotherapy. However, controversies and uncertainties remain regarding the specific mechanisms and clinical effects of KD as an adjunctive therapy for cancer. Therefore, this review summarizes the existing research and explores the intricate relationships between KD and cancer treatment.

Inference for High-Dimensional streamed Longitudinal Data

With the advent of modern devices,such as smartphones and wearable devices,high-dimensional data are collected on many participants for a period of time or even in *** this type of data,dependencies between and within data batches exist because data are collected from the same individual over *** the framework of streamed data,individual historical data are not available due to the storage and computation *** is urgent to develop computationally efficient methods with statistical guarantees to analyze high-dimensional streamed data and make reliable inferences in *** addition,the homogeneity assumption on the model parameters may not be valid in practice over *** address the above issues,in this paper,we develop a new renewable debiased-lasso inference method for high-dimensional streamed data allowing dependences between and within data batches to exist and model parameters to gradually *** establish the large sample properties of the proposed estimators,including consistency and asymptotic *** numerical results,including simulations and real data analysis,show the superior performance of the proposed method.

Two New Nonconforming Quadrilateral Finite Element Methods for the Brinkman problem

In this paper, two new efficient fully nonconforming polynomial finite element methods on arbitrary convex quadrilaterals are constructed to solve the Brinkman problem. Both elements have 12 local degrees of freedom and are uniformly first-order convergent. For the first element, we carefully design a shape function space of only degree four, which is convenient for practical computation. Meanwhile, the velocity solution obtained by our second element has O（h2） convergence order in the case of Darcy limit. These new elements can be regarded as modifications of a known element to effectively improve the computational efficiency, only the shape function space is properly changed. We verify our theoretical findings by numerical examples.

Giant phonon anomaly in topological nodal-line semimetals

The band topology has been revealed to bring a wide array of novel electronic transport phenomena, but its interaction with phonon properties remains largely unexplored. Here we propose that continuous topological singularities with variable Fermi wave vectors can lead to giant effects on phonon transport in nodal-line semimetals. Using first-principles calculations, we show that such an exotic feature is present in a well-known topological semimetal Zrsise, in which the unique nodal-line can guarantee considerable momentum-continuous phonons to satisfy the stringent condition of Kohn anomaly and thereby dramatically strengthen the electron-phonon coupling. Moreover, the momentum-continuous anomaly phonons with eight arms of vertical Fermi surface drive intense phonon-electron scattering that is even comparable with intrinsic phonon-phonon scattering, giving rise to a reduction of ∼45% on room temperature lattice thermal conductivity. Our findings not only uncover giant phonon anomaly in topological nodal-line semimetals but also provide guidance for exploring the vital influence of electronic band topology on thermal transport bridged by the electron-phonon coupling. © 2023
