shock compression and spallation of a eutectic high-entropy alloy(HEA)AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1)with lamellar structure are investigated via plate impact loading with free-surface velocity measurements.The as-cast and postmortem samples are characterized with transmission electron microscopy,electron back-scatter diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.An accurate Hugoniot equation of state is determined.Af-ter shock compression to∼12 Gpa,both the L1_(2)and B_(2)phases retain their ordered structures.Dense dislocations in the{111}slip planes,stacking faults and deformation twins are found in the L1_(2)phase,along with fewer dislocations in the{110}slip bands in the B(2)phase.shock-induced deformation twin-ning within the L1_(2)phase of this HEA is observed as a new deformation mechanism under various load-ing conditions.For spallation,both ductile and brittle damage modes are observed.The micro voids and cracks prefer to nucleate at the phase boundaries chiefly,then in the B(2)phase.Under similar shock stress,the spall strength of AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1)HEA is about 40%higher than those of other reported dual-phase HEAs due to the high stability of its semi-coherent phase boundaries.

Multiple ballistic impacts are carried out on a 2024-T4 aluminum alloy by spherical steel projectiles(5-mm diameter)at~400 m s^(-1),to investigate its dynamic deformation and damage.The ballistic impact process is captured with high-speed photography.postmortem samples are characterized with optical imaging,three-dimensional laser scanning,microhardness testing and electron backscatter diffraction.With increasing number of impacts,crater diameter increases slightly,but crater depth and crater volume increase significantly,and strain accumulation leads to microhardness increase overall.Crater parameters all follow power-law relations with the number of impacts.Twin-like deformation bands and macroscopic deformation twins are produced by impact as a result of spontaneous dislocation self-pinning under high strain rate,large shear deformation.Under multiple impacts,shear strain accumulation in the arc-shaped region of the crater induces deformation twinning when it exceeds a critical value(~1.1-1.6).It is highly possible that the deformation twins are related to deformation bands,since they both share one set of the{111}pole with the initial matrix grain.A finite element method model is optimized to reproduce experimental observations and interpret deformation mechanisms.

We report the detection of aγ-ray bubble spanning at least 100deg2 in ultra-high energy(UHE)up to a few peV in the direction of the star-forming region Cygnus X,implying the presence super peVatron(s)accelerating protons to at least 10 peV.A log-parabola form with the photon indexΓ(E)=(2.71±0.02)+(0.11±0.02)×log10(E/10 TeV)is found fitting the gamma-ray energy spectrum of the bubble well.UHE sources,“hot spots”correlated with very massive molecular clouds,and a quasi-spherical amorphousγ-ray emitter with a sharp central brightening are observed in the bubble.In the core of~0.5°,spatially associating with a region containing massive OB association(Cygnus OB2)and a microquasar(Cygnus X-3),as well as previously reported multi-TeV sources,an enhanced concentration of UHEγ-rays is observed with 2 photons at energies above 1 peV.The general feature of the bubble,the morphology,and the energy spectrum,are reasonably reproduced by the assumption of a particle accelerator in the core,continuously injecting protons into the ambient medium.

Introduction One of main scientiﬁc goals of the Large High Altitude Air shower Observatory(LHAAsO)is to accurately measure the energy spectra of different cosmic ray compositions around the‘knee’region.The Wide Field-of-View(FoV)Cherenkov Telescope Array(WFCTA),which is one of the main detectors of LHAAsO and has 18 telescopes,is built to achieve this goal.Multiple telescopes are put together and point to connected directions for a larger FoV.Method Telescopes are deployed spatially as close as possible,but due to their own size,the distance between two adjacent telescopes is about 10 m.Therefore,the Cherenkov lateral distribution and the parallax between the two telescopes should be considered in the event building process for images crossing over the boundaries of FoVs of the telescopes.An event building method for Cherenkov images measured by multiple telescopes of WFCTA is developed.The performance of the shower measurements using the combined images is evaluated by comparing with showers that are fully contained by a virtual telescope in simulation.Results and conclusion It is proved that the developed event building process can help to increase the FoV of WFCTA by 30%while maintaining the same reconstruction quality,compared to the separate telescope reconstruction method.

superconducting transmon qubits with fixed frequencies are widely used in many applications due to their advantages of better coherence and less control lines compared to the frequency tunable qubits.However,any uncontrolled interactions with the qubits such as the two-level systems could lead to adverse impacts,degrading the qubit coherence and inducing crosstalk.To mitigate the detrimental effect from uncontrolled interactions between qubits and defect modes in fixed-frequency transmon qubits,we propose and demonstrate an active approach using an off-resonance microwave drive to dress the qubit and to induce the ac-stark shift on the qubit frequency.We show experimentally that the qubit frequency can be tuned well away from the defect mode so that the impact on qubit coherence is greatly reduced while maintaining the universal controls of the qubit initialization,readout,and single-qubit gate operations.Our approach provides an effective way for tuning the qubit frequency and suppressing the detrimental effect from the defect modes that happen to be located close to the qubit frequency.

Background stocker cattle diet and management influence beef cattle performance during the finishing stage,but knowledge of the dynamics of the rumen microbiome associated with the host are lacking.A longitudinal study was conducted to determine how the feeding strategy from the stocker to the finishing stages of production affects the temporal dynamics of rumen microbiota.During the stocker phase,either dry hay or wheat pasture were provided,and three levels of monensin were administrated.All calves were then transported to a feedlot and received similar finishing diets with or without monensin.Rumen microbial samples were collected on d 0,28,85 during the stocker stage(s0,s28 and s85)and d 0,14,28,56,30 d before slaughter and the end of the trial during the finishing stage(F0,F14,F28,F56,pre-Ba,and Final).The V4 region of the bacterial 16s rRNA gene of 263 rumen samples was sequenced.Results Higher alpha diversity,including the number of observed bacterial features and the shannon index,was observed in the stocker phase compared to the finishing phase.The bacterial amplicon sequence variants(AsVs)differentiating different sampling time points were identified.Dietary treatments during the stocker stage temporally impact the dynamics of rumen microbiota.For example,shared bacteria,including Bacteroidales(AsV19)and streptococcus infantarius(AsV94),were significantly higher in hay rumen on s28,s85,and F0,while Bacteroidaceae(AsV11)and Limivicinus(AsV15)were more abundant in wheat.Monensin affected rumen microbial composition at a specific time.Transportation to feedlot significantly influenced microbiome structure and diversity in hay-fed calves.Bacterial taxa associated with body weight were classified,and core microbiotas interacted with each other during the trial.Conclusions In summary,the temporal dynamics of the rumen microbiome in cattle at the stocker and finishing stage are influenced by multiple factors of the feeding strategy.Diet at the stocker phase may temporarily affect the microbial composition duri

The full array of the Large High Altitude Air shower Observatory(LHAAsO)has been in operation since July 2021.For its kilometer-square array(KM2A),we optimized the selection criteria for very high and ultrahigh energyγ-rays using data collected from August 2021 to August 2022,resulting in an improvement in significance of the detection in the Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared with that of previous cuts.With the implementation of these new selection criteria,the angular resolution was also significantly improved by approximately 10%at tens of TeV.Other aspects of the full KM2A array performance,such as the pointing error,were also calibrated using the Crab Nebula.The resulting energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range of 10-1000 TeV are well fitted by a log-parabola model,which is consistent with the previous results from LHAAsO and other experiments.

Adipose browning has demonstrated therapeutic potentials in several diseases.Here,by conducting transcriptomic profiling at the single-cell and single-nucleus resolution,we reconstituted the cellular atlas in mouse inguinal subcutaneous white adipose tissue(iWAT)at thermoneutrality or chronic cold condition.All major nonimmune cells within the iWAT,including adipose stem and progenitor cells(AspCs),mature adipocytes,endothelial cells,schwann cells,and smooth muscle cells,were recovered,allowing us to uncover an overall and detailed blueprint for transcriptomes and intercellular cross-talks and the dynamics during white adipose tissue brown remodeling.Our findings also unravel the existence of subpopulations in mature adipocytes,AspCs,and endothelial cells,as well as new insights on their interconversion and reprogramming in response to cold.The adipocyte subpopulation competent of major histocompatibility complex class Ⅱ(MHCⅡ)antigen presentation is potentiated.Furthermore,a subcluster of AspC with CD74 expression was identified as the precursor of this MHCⅡ^(+)adipocyte.Beige adipocytes are transdifferented from preexisting lipid generating adipocytes,which exhibit developmental trajectory from de novo differentiation of amphiregulin cells(Aregs).Two distinct immune-like endothelial subpopulations are present in iWAT and are responsive to cold.Our data reveal fundamental changes during cold-evoked adipose browning.

The International Fossil plant Names Index(IFpNI,2014-onwards)not only serves as an online gateway to the fossil plant name registry for the global scientific community,but also serves as a comprehensive and dynamic archive of fossil plants(Doweld,2016,2022).since its establishment in 2014,the IFpNI has accumulated more than 80,000 entries of fossil plant names,along with information on over 10,000 documents and over 6000 paleobotanists,all supported by exhaustive data,demonstrating the scope of the IFpNI's work(IFpNI,2014-onwards).

Chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)-modified T-cell therapy has achieved remarkable success in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).Measurable/minimal residual disease(MRD)monitoring plays a significant role in the prognostication and management of patients undergoing CAR-T-cell therapy.Common MRD detection methods include flow cytometry(FCM),polymerase chain reaction(pCR),and next-generation sequencing(NGs),and each method has advantages and limitations.It has been well documented that MRD positivity predicts a poor prognosis and even disease relapse.Thus,how to perform prognostic evaluations,stratify risk based on MRD status,and apply MRD monitoring to guide individual therapeutic decisions have important implications in clinical practice.This review assesses the common and novel MRD assessment methods.In addition,we emphasize the critical role of MRD as a prognostic biomarker and summarize the latest studies regarding MRD-directed combination therapy with CAR-T-cell therapy and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HsCT),as well as other therapeutic strategies to improve treatment effect.Furthermore,this review discusses current challenges and strategies for MRD detection in the setting of disease relapse after targeted therapy.
