Heat-shock proteins （HsPs） play an undisputed role for maintaining cellular functioning under environmental challenges and protein denaturing conditions. Compelling evidence points to an evolutionary important role of HsPs and a strict evolutionary control of these proteins as a balance between benefits and costs. While there is a great potential for using HsP expression for detecting natural adaptation and exposure to stress in natural populations, some obstacles and key issues await investigation. From an ecological perspective these key issues needs to be resolved in order to fully appreciate the complex responses and adaptations to stress and to increase our understanding of HsPs and other molecular chaperones for stress adaptation and potential use as biomarkers. Here, the current knowledge and understanding of HsPs is reviewed and a number of key issues including the interpretation of elevated HsP levels, the complications of extrapolating between laboratory and field conditions, the effects of choice of traits and methodology and the larger intra-and extracellular networks of interactions that HsPs participate in are discussed [Current Zoology 56 （6）： 703-713, 2010].

In ductile mode cutting of brittle materials using di amond tools, such as ductile cutting of silicon and quartz for wafer fabrication , one of the key conditions for achieving ductile chip formation is to get the r ight ratio of tool cutting edge radius to the undeformed chip thickness. It has been shown that the undeformed chip thickness has to be in the order of nanomete rs and that the tool cutting edge radius has to be smaller than the undeformed c hip thickness. Therefore, nanoprecision measurement of diamond cutting tools has become a key issue for ductile mode cutting of brittle materials. In this paper , a non-destructive nanoprecision measurement method for diamond tool cutting e dge radius is presented. The basis of the method is that the exact profile of th e tool cutting edge can be perfectly copied by indenting the tool cutting edge o n the surface of a rigid-perfect plastic material, and that the copy of the pro file can be measured at nanoprecision level. Ideally, the first aspect of th e method is to make a perfect copy of the tool cutting edge profile by indentati on on the surface of a rigid-perfect plastic material which has no elastic spri ng back, so that a true copy of the tool cutting edge is maintained for subseque nt measurement. since no rigid-perfect plastic material can be found in realit y, actual materials of rigid-elastic-plastic nature have to be used for the in dentation in the measurement method, and the material elastic error compensation coefficients have to be determined to cancel out the effect of elastic spring b ack. For the minimization of error compensation, criteria for the selection of t he optimal materials for the indentation measurement are found to be: 1) high ri gidity and high density, 2) large Young’s elastic modulus, and 3) low yield strength. The Gurupi Belt,in north-northeastern Brazil,is a mobile belt developed in the south-southwestern margin of the sao Luis cratonic fragment and crops out as a tectonic and erosional window within the Phanerozoic ***,petrographic,geochemical,geochronological,and Nd isotopic information(new and published)constrain the timing and types of magmatic associations present in the belt and the tectonic settings in which they *** Rhyacian was the main period of magmatic activity,which can be grouped into two main stages.(1)~2185-2130 ma:pre-collisional,juvenile,calc-alkaline magnesian and calcic ferroan granitoid suites,and minor calc-alkaline and tholeiitic mafic plutonism(now amphibolites),formed in intra-oceanic to transitional/continental arcs;and intra-or back-arc volcano-sedimentary basin.(2)~2125-2070 ma:syn-(two-mica granites)to late-collisional(potassic to shoshonitic granites and quartz-syenite)plutonic suites produced after crustal thickening and melting,with localized migmatization,that intruded during the compressive D1 deformational phase and concomitantly with greenschist to amphibolite *** is a zonation of the Rhyacian episodes,with intra-oceanic stages occurring to the northeast,and the continental arc and collisional phases occurring to the southwest,indicating the presence of an active continental margin to the southwest,and subduction from NE to sW(present-day configuration).This magmatic framework is a continuation to the south of what is described for the sao Luis cratonic fragment to the north,and the orogenic scenario is identical to what is observed for the same period in the West African Craton(Eburnean/Birrimian orogen),which additionally supports previous geological *** the Neoproterozoic,a few magmatic occurrences are *** extensional event allowed the intrusion of an anorogenic,nepheline syenite at ca.730 ma,which was followed by the intrusion of a crustal,calc-alkaline microtonalite,of uncertain

A comprehensive approach to an equation of state for hard spheres and Lennard Jones fluids

The objective of this study was to compare the in vitro digestibility of wheat straw by rumen microorganisms of water buffalo of Khuzestan in Iran and Holstein *** vitro digestibility of dry matter(Dm) and neutral detergent fiber(NDF) was measured by procedure of Tilley and *** results of this experiment indicated that the Dm digestibility of wheat straw by rumen microbial population of Khuzestani buffalo was higher than that by rumen microorganism of Holstein cow(49.35 and 40.14 g/100 g,respectively)(Pstibility of wheat straw was 46.71 and 30.89 g/100 g for rumen microbial population of buffalo and cow,respectively(Psame diet,the Dm and NDF digestibility by rumen microorganism of Khuzestani buffalo was 1.22 and 1.51 folds higher than Holstein cow,respectively.

We present a simple method of obtaining various equations of state for hard sphere fluid in a simple unifying way. We will guess equations of state by using suitable axiomatic functional forms （n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5） for surface tension sn （r）, r≥ d/2 with intermolecular separation r as a variable, where m is an arbitrary real number （pole）. Among the equations of state obtained in this way are Percus-Yevick, scaled particle theory and Carnahan-starling equations of state. In addition, we have found a simple equation of state for the hard sphere fluid in the region that represents the simulation data accurately. It is found that for both hard sphere fluids as well as Lennard-Jones fluids, with m = 3/4 the derived equation of state （EOs） gives results which are in good agreement with computer simulation results. Furthermore, this equation of state gives the Percus-Yevick （pressure） EOs for the m = 0, the Carnahan-starling EOs for rn = 4/5, while for the value of m = 1 it corresponds to a scaled particle theory EOs.

Background: Congenital heart disease is a public health issue due to its incidence and mortality rate. The aim of this study was to investigate the long-term mortality of children with congenital heart disease admitted to the Departmental University Hospital of Borgou/Alibori (CHUD-B/A) from 2011 to 2022. methods: This descriptive longitudinal study with analytical aims covered 11 years (April 1, 2011 to December 31, 2022). It consisted of a review of the records of children under 15 years of age with echocardiographically confirmed congenital heart disease. This was followed by an interview with the parents to assess the children’s current condition. Data were entered using Kobocollect software and analyzed using R studio 4.2.2. software. Results: A total of 143 complete files were retained. The median age at diagnosis was 14 months (IIQ: Q1 = 4;Q3 = 60) with a range of 2 days and 175 months, and the sex-ratio (m/F) was 0.96. Left-to-right shunts were the most frequent cardiopathy group (62.9%). Only 35 children (24.5%) benefited from restorative treatment. The mortality rate was 31.5%. median survival under the maximum bias assumption was 114 months and 216 months under the assumption of minimum bias. survival was significantly better in children with right-to-left shunts (p = 0.0049) under the assumption of minimum bias. The death risk factors were: age at diagnosis less than 12 months (aHR = 7.58;95% CI = 3.36 - 17.24;p Conclusion: The long-term mortality of congenital heart disease is high and favoured by the absence of restorative treatment. Local correction of congenital heart disease and medical follow-up will help to reduce this mortality.

Boundary characteristic orthogonal polynomials are used as shape functions in the Rayleigh–Ritz method to investigate vibration and buckling of nanobeams embedded in an elastic medium. The present formulation is based on the nonlocal Euler–Bernoulli beam theory. The eigen value equation is developed for the buckling and vibration analyses. The orthogonal property of these polynomials makes the computation easier with less computational effort. It is observed that the frequency and critical buckling load parameters are dependent on the temperature, elastic medium, small scale coefficient,and length-to-diameter ratio. These observations are useful in the mechanical design of devices that use carbon nanotubes.

This paper discusses the natural convection boundary layer flow of a micropo- lax nanofluid over a vertical permeable cone with variable wall temperatures. Non-similax solutions are obtained. The nonlineaxly coupled differential equations under the boundary layer approximations governing the flow axe solved numerically using an efficient, itera- tive, tri-diagonal, implicit finite difference method. Different experimental correlations for both nanofluid effective viscosity and nanofluid thermal conductivity are considered. It is found that as the vortex-viscosity parameter increases, both the velocity profiles and the local Nusselt number decrease. Also, among all the nanoparticles considered in this investigation, Cu gives a good convection.
