The free convective heat transfer to the power-law non-Newtonian flow from a vertical plate in a porous medium saturated with nanofluid under laminar conditions is investigated. It is considered that the non-Newtonian nanofluid obeys the mathematical model of power-law. The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brown- ian motion and thermophoresis. The partial differential system governing the problem is transformed into an ordinary system via a usual similarity transformation. The numer- ical solutions of the resulting ordinary system are obtained. These solutions depend on the power-law index n, Lewis number Le, buoyancy-ratio number Nr, Brownian motion number Nb, and thermophoresis number Nt. For various values of n and Le, the effects of the influence parameters on the fluid behavior as well as the reduced Nusselt number are presented and discussed.

This study examined whether urban Chinese consumers with stronger environmental values have higher valuations for plastic beverage bottles that are made of post-consumer recycled material(rPET)or that come in large sizes that use plastic more *** also assesses the effectiveness of environmental information provision and green identity labeling in increasing consumer willingness to pay for environmentally-friendly *** results suggest that urban Chinese consumers are willing to pay a premium for rPET bottles,indicating that there is a potential market for rPET food and beverage packaging in China that calls for manufacturing guidelines,safety standards,or *** environmental information and attaching green identity labels increases consumer valuations of rPET bottles,with their joint use exerting the largest ***-environmental consumers are more responsive to environmental information and green identity labeling and thus are willing to pay a higher premium for rPET ***,in terms of choosing large bottles as a means to reduce plastic use in product packaging,consumers were found to be indifferent about plastic bottle sizes even after receiving environmental *** is suggested that the inconvenience of carrying or storing large bottles might have offset their perceived environmental benefits.

This paper presents the pathological voice detection and classification techniques using signal processing based methodologies and Feed Forward Neural Networks(FFNN).The important pathological voices such as Autism spectrum Disorder(AsD)and Down syndrome(Ds)are considered for *** pathological voices are known to manifest in different ways in the speech of children and ***,it is possible to discriminate AsD and Ds children from normal ones using the acoustic features extracted from the speech of these *** important attributes hidden in the pathological voices are extracted by applying different signal processing *** this work,three group of feature vectors such as perturbation measures,noise parameters and spectral-cepstral modeling are derived from the *** detection and classification is done by means of Feed For-ward Neural Network(FFNN)classifier trained with scaled Conjugate Gradient(sCG)*** performance of the network is evaluated by finding various performance metrics and the the experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method gives better performance compared with other methods discussed in the literature.

Among the several activities involved in oil exploration are the determination of hydrocarbon in-place and mechanical competency of the oil *** pressure regimes of the formation have also become vital properties which must be well known to ensure preliminary awareness of the hydraulic *** study seeks to adopt a prediction strategy of the overall geo-mechanical competency and strength of the formation,using a less stressful computational process and an empirical analysis,developed using three wells from ED BON area in parts of Niger *** constants such as Poisson Ratio,Young's,shear and Bulk moduli which are the parameters for characterizing rock mechanical properties were estimated,as well as the subsurface formation pressures and the associated fracture gradient using P-wave sonic and density *** results from the analysis showed that there is correlation between elastic strength and fracture pressure.

In this tutorial paper,the finite-horizon optimal adaptive regulation of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems with unknown system dynamics is presented in a forward-in-time manner using adaptive dynamic programming(ADP).An adaptive estimator(AE)is introduced with the idea of Q-learning to relax the requirement of system dynamics in the case of linear system,while neural network-based identifier is utilised for nonlinear *** time-varying nature of the solution to the Bellman/Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation is handled by utilising a time-dependent basis function,while the terminal constraint is incorporated as part of the update law of the AE/Identifier in solving the optimal feedback *** an initial admissible control,the proposed optimal regulation scheme of the uncertain linear and nonlinear system yields a forward-in-time and online solution without using value and/or policy *** adaptive observer is utilised for linear systems in order to relax the need for state availability so that the optimal adaptive control design depends only on the reconstructed ***,the optimal control is covered for nonlinear-networked control systems where in the feedback loop is closed via a communication *** of the proposed approach is verified by simulation *** end result is a variant of a roll-out scheme in ADP wherein an initial admissible policy is selected as the base policy and the control policy is enhanced using a one-time policy improvement at each sampling interval.

Flotation is a complex multifaceted process that is widely used for the separation of finely ground minerals. The theory of froth flotation is complex and is not completely understood. This fact has been brought many monitoring challenges in a coal processing plant. To solve those challenges, it is important to understand the effect of different parameters on the fine particle separation, and control flotation performance for a particular system. This study is going to indicate the effect of various parameters （particle Characteristics and hydrodynamic conditions） on coal flotation responses （flotation rate constant and recovery） by different modeling techniques. A comprehensive coal flotation database was prepared for the statistical and soft computing methods. statistical factors were used for variable selections. Results were in a good agreement with recent theoretical flotation investigations. Computational models accurately can estimate flotation rate constant and coal recovery （correlation coefficient 0.85, and 0.99, respectively）. According to the results, it can be concluded that the soft computing models can overcome the complexity of process and be used as an expert system to control, and optimize parameters of coal flotation process.

We present an all-fiber dual-wavelength holmium-doped veloped holmium-doped fiber （HDF） as a gain medium fiber laser operating in 2 #m region using a newly de- The proposed fiber laser is constructed by using a hybrid gain medium, i.e., a thulium ytterbium co-doped fiber （TYDF） and an HDF in conjunction with a simple half-opened linear cavity, which is formed by a broadband mirror and an output coupler reflector. Without the HDF, the TYDF laser operates at wavelengths of 1991 and 1999nm with a signal-to-noise ratio of more than 34dB and the slope efficiency of 26.16 %. With the HDF, dual-wavelength output lines are obtained at 2075 and 2083nm with signal-to-noise ratios of more than difference between the two peaks of less than 1 dB at 17dB, 3dB bandwidth of less than 0.2nm and the power the TYDF laser pump power of 320roW.
