In this study,we propose a method for estimating the amount of expansion that occurs in subsea pipelines,which could be applied in the design of robust structures that transport oil and gas from offshore *** begin with a literature review and general discussion of existing estimation methods and terminologies with respect to subsea *** to the effects of high pressure and high temperature,the production of fluid from offshore wells is typically caused by physical deformation of subsea structures,e.g.,expansion and contraction during the transportation *** severe cases,vertical and lateral buckling occurs,which causes a significant negative impact on structural safety,and which is related to on-bottom stability,free-span,structural collapse,and many other *** addition,these factors may affect the production rate with respect to flow assurance,wax,and hydration,to name a *** this study,we developed a simple and efficient method for generating a reliable pipe expansion design in the early stage,which can lead to savings in both cost and computation *** such,in this paper,we propose an applicable diagram,which we call the standard dimensionless ratio(sDR)versus virtual anchor length(LA)diagram,that utilizes an efficient procedure for estimating subsea pipeline expansion based on applied reliable *** this user guideline,offshore pipeline structural designers can reliably determine the amount of subsea pipeline expansion and the obtained results will also be useful for the installation,design,and maintenance of the subsea pipeline.

The allometric scaling laws of metabolism in 447 animal and 1200 plant species showed convex and concave curvatures between mass and metabolic rate,*** objective of the study is to explain the difference of curvatures between animals and plants based on fractal *** intraspecific scaling laws were derived from an asymmetric vascular tree with the fractal dimension(i.e.,a in k^(a)_(1)+k^(a)_(2)+…-=1,where k_(i)refers to the ratio of daughter to mother diameters).Based on the intraspecific scaling laws,the allometric scaling exponent of metabolism(i.e.,an interspecific scaling law)was shown to be equal to one-third of fractal ***,a novel piecewise-defined function in conjunction with the intraspecific scaling laws was proposed to explain the diverse metabolic scaling in animals and *** intraspecific and interspecific scaling laws showed good agreement with morphometric *** experimentally-validated scaling models predict the diversity of intraspecific and interspecific scaling seen in *** our knowledge,this is the first study to use fractal models to explain the convex and concave forms of metabolic scaling in animals and *** study resolves the long-term controversies to use the resource-transport network models for explanation of the allometric scaling law of metabolism.

Prevalences of oligozoospermia and azoospermia in male partners of infertile couples from different parts of India

Aim： To determine whether there was any regional variation in the prevalence of azoospermia, oligozoospermia and mean sperm counts in male partners of infertile couples from different parts of India. Methods： Data on 16 714 semen samples analyzed over the past five years from six different laboratories located in five cities of India were collated and evaluated. Results： There was a regional variation in the prevalence of azoospermia. The prevalence of azoospermia was extremely high in Kurnool and Jodhpur （38.3% and 37.4%, respectively）. There was also a regional variation in the prevalence of oligozoospermia （51%） in Kurnool. There was no significant difference in the mean sperm counts in normospermic men. Conclusion： There is a regional variation in the prevalence of azoospermia and oligozoospermia in the male partners of infertile couples from different regions of India. The prevalence of azoospermia in Kumool and Jodhpur is higher than any other worldwide reported literature, Further studies need to be carded out to determine the cause of this. （Asian J Androl 2006 Jan; 8： 89-93）

High-Throughput Multi-Plume Pulsed-Laser Deposition for Materials Exploration and Optimization

A high-throughput multi-plume pulsed-laser deposition （MPPLD） system has been demonstrated and compared to previous techniques. Whereas most combinatorial pulsedlaser deposition （PLD） systems have focused on achieving thickness uniformity using sequential multilayer deposition and masking followed by post-deposition annealing, MPPLD directly deposits a compositionally varied library of compounds using the directionality of PLD plumes and the resulting spatial variations of deposition rate. This system is more suitable for high-throughput compound thin-film fabrication.

A family of double-beauty tetraquarks:Axial-vector state T^-bb;us^-

The spectroscopic parameters and decay channels of the axial-vector tetraquark Tho(in what follows,TAV)are explored using the quantum chromodynamics(QCD)sum rule *** mass and coupling of this state are calculated using two-point sum rules by taking into account various vacuum condensates,up to 10 *** prediction for the mass of this state m=(10215±250)MeV confirms that it is stable with respect to strong and electromagnetic decays and can dissociate to conventional mesons only via weak *** investigate the dominant semileptonic■and nonleptonic T AV b:s^-→v10 b:s^-M decays of T AV b:s^-.In these processes,Z-b:s^-is a scalar tetraquark[be][us^-]built of a colo-triplet diquark and an antidiquark,whereas M is one of the vector mesonsρ^-,K^*(892),D^*(2010)^-,and D^*s-.To caleulate the partial w idths of these decays,we use the QCD three-point sum rule approach and evaluate the weak transition form factors Gi(i=0,1,2,3),which govem these *** full widthΓfull=(12.9±2.1)×10^-8 MeV and the mean lifetimeτ=5.1+0.99-0.71 fs of the tetraquark TAV are computed us-ing the aforementioned weak *** obtained information about the parametersof TAY and Zh,is useful for experimental investigations of these double-heavy exotic mesons.

Photoelectrochemical degradation of acetaminophen and valacyclovir using nanoporous titanium dioxide

Electrochemically treated nanoporous TiO2 was employed as a novel electrode to assist in the pho- toelectrochemical degradation of acetaminophen and valacyclovir. The prepared electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscopy （sEM） and energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDs）. Cyclic voltammetry （CV）, Mott-schottky plots, ultraviolet-visible light （UV-vis） absorbance spec- troscopy, and a total organic carbon （TOC） analyzer were employed to investigate the photoelec- trochemical degradation of acetaminophen and valacyclovir. The results indicated no obvious re- moval of acetaminophen and valacyclovir over 3 h when separate photochemical degradation and electrochemical oxidation were employed. In contrast, acetaminophen and valacyclovir were rapid- ly eliminated via photoelectrochemical degradation. In addition, electrochemically treated nanopo~ rous TiO2 electrodes significantly enhanced the efficacy of the photoelectrochemical degradation of acetaminophen and valacyclovir, by 86.96% and 53.12%, respectively, when compared with un- treated nanoporous TiO2 electrodes. This enhanced performance may have been attributed to the formation of Ti3~, Ti2~, and oxygen vacancies, as well as an improvement in conductivity during the electrochemical reduction process. The effect of temperature was further investigated, where the activation energy of the photoelectrochemical degradation of acetaminophen and valacyclovir was determined to be 9.62 and 18.42 kJ/mol, respectively.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a neurodevelopmental impairment that results in a person’s behavior,thinking,and memory *** common symptoms ofADare losingmemory and early *** addition to these,there are several serious impacts ***,the impact ofADcanbemitigatedby early-stagedetection though it cannot be cured ***-stage detection is the most challenging task for controlling and mitigating the impact of *** study proposes a predictive model to detect AD in the initial phase based on machine learning and a deep learning approach to address the *** build a predictive model,open-source data was collected where five stages of images of AD were available as Cognitive Normal(CN),Early Mild Cognitive Impairment(EMCI),Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI),Late Mild Cognitive Impairment(LMCI),and *** stage of AD is considered as a class,and then the dataset was divided into three parts binary class,three class,and five *** this research,we applied different preprocessing steps with augmentation techniques to efficiently *** integrates a random oversampling technique to handle the imbalance problem from target classes,mitigating the model overfitting and *** three machine learning classifiers,such as random forest(RF),K-Nearest neighbor(KNN),and support vector machine(sVM),and two deep learning methods,such as convolutional neuronal network(CNN)and artificial neural network(ANN)were applied on these *** analyzing the performance of the used models and the datasets,it is found that CNN with binary class outperformed 88.20%*** result of the study indicates that the model is highly potential to detect AD in the initial phase.

Let D be a domain in Cn. It is known that if D is a simply connected bounded domain in C with spherical real analytic boundary D, then every local biholomorphic map at boundary as above extends to a biholomorphic map from D onto the unit ball in Cn. As a consequence, a local biholomorphic map between D1 and D2 where D1 and D2 are simply connected domains in Cn with spherical real analytic boundaries can extend to a global biholomorphic map from D1 onto D2. If the boundary is algebraic, the simply connected condition in the above result can be dropped. In this note, we show that the above phenomenon is no longer true if domains are in algebraic varieties with isolated singularities.
