During a total solar eclipse(TsE)on 22 July 2009,atmospheric perturbations were monitored from the surface to thermosphere to understand TsE’s impact on the meteorological(temperature,relative humidity,wind speed,and wind direction)and chemical(O3 and NOx)parameters around kadapa(14.28°N,78.42°E),a tropical semi-arid region of *** this purpose,an experiment was conducted at Yogi Vemana University Campus,kadapa,India,to measure the temperature,wind speed,wind direction,and concentrations of ozone(O3),NO,NO2,and NOx by using the automatic weather station(AWs)and O3 *** the eclipse day(22 July 2009),the surface observations at kadapa showed a reduction in temperature(about 1.1℃)because of the solar *** of the thermal,dynamical(wind),and chemical parameters on the TsE day with control days[preceding(21 July 2009)and succeeding(23 July 2009)the TsE]illustrated the influence of solar *** the eclipse period,the O3 mixing ratio decreased,while NO2 and NOx increased;however,NO remained *** addition,radio occultation(RO)temperature profiles from Constellation Observing system for Meteorology,Ionosphere,and Climate(COsMIC)/Formosat satellite Mission(FORMOsAT-3)and Thermosphere,Ionosphere,and Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics(TIMED)satellites were utilized to understand the impact of TsE on dynamics of the middle and upper atmosphere from tropopause to the *** vertical resolution COsMIC observations revealed that during the solar eclipse,tropopause was cooler with twin peaks(double tropopause).The lower thermosphere between 110 and 130 km became warmer during the TsE,which might be caused by the dynamical response of the atmosphere in this region to the solar *** experimental data have provided very fine-scale variations of the atmospheric parameters both in time and height and also constituted a new set of results on TsE for further research.

The celebrated Majorana representation is exploited to investigate spin squeezing in different classes of pure symmetric states of N qubits with two distinct spinors, namely the Dicke-class of states. On obtaining a general expression for spin squeezing parameter, the variation of squeezing for different configurations is studied in detail. It is shown that the states in the Dicke-class, characterized by two-distinct non-orthogonal spinors, exhibit squeezing.

The general contact problem of a disc squeezed between jaws of arbitrary curvature is considered employing Muskhelishvili’s complex *** advantage of the general solution introduced,the closed-form expressions for the stresses along strategic loci(loaded rim,loaded diameter,disc’s center)are obtained,in terms of the ratio r of the disc’s to the jaw’s ***,the effect of r(as well as that of the relative stiffness of the disc’s and jaw’s materials dictating the contact arc)on the stress distribution along these loci is *** is concluded that,for both smooth contact(zero friction)and contact with friction,the role of the jaw’s curvature is significant not only along the disc-jaw contact arc(as it could be expected),but also all along the loaded *** the other hand,it is indicated that the stress field at the disc’s center is more or less insensitive to the jaw’s curvature assuming that r lies within the range(0,0.67)or in other words within the limits defined by the two standardized suggestions,*** of American society for Testing and Materials(AsTM)(plane loading platens with r ? 0)and that of International society for Rock Mechanics(IsRM)(curved jaws with r ? 0.67).The upper limit of this range is a kind of compromise between the need to make the stress field at the disc’s center independent of the boundary conditions while keeping at the same time the contact angle large enough to reduce the stress concentration and the risk for premature fracture initiation far from the disc’s *** jaws with radius of curvature exceeded by that suggested by IsRM,the stress field at the disc’s center is significantly *** for jaws with radius approaching that of the disc,the stress field at the disc’s center is dramatically distorted rendering Hondros’ formula inapplicable and the test results erroneous.

Copper sulfide thin films are deposited onto different substrates at room temperature using the thermal evaporation technique. X-ray diffraction spectra show that the film has an orthorhombicchalcocite （7-Cu2s） phase. The atomic force microscopy images indicate that the film exhibits nanoparticles with an average size of nearly 44 nm. specrtophotometric measurements for the transmittance and reflectance are carried out at normal incidence in a spectral wavelength range of 450 nm-2500 nm. The refractive index, n, as well as the absorption index, k is calculated. some dispersion parameters are determined. The analyses of el and e2 reveal several absorption peaks. The analysis of the spectral behavior of the absorption coefficient, c~, in the absorption region reveals direct and indirect allowed transitions. The dark electrical resistivity is studied as a function of film thickness and temperature. Tellier＇s model is adopted for determining the mean free path and bulk resistance.

Protective Effect of Distillate and Redistillate of Cow’s Urine in Human Polymorphonuclear Leukocytes Challenged With Established Genotoxic Chemicals

Objective From the ancient period cow’urine has been used as a medicine. In Veda, cow’urine was compared to the nectar. In susrut, several medicinal properties of cow’ urine have been mentioned and are known to cause weight loss, reversal of certain cardiac and kidney problems, indigestion, stomach ache, edema, etc. However, the literature and scripture did not mention the antigenotoxic properties of cow’urine. Methods In the present investigation, the antigenotoxic/ antioxidant properties of cow’ urine distillate and redistillate were studied in vitro. The antioxidant status and volatile fatty acid levels were determined. Actinomycin-D (0.1ol/L) and hydrogen peroxide (150 mol/L) were used for inducing DNA strand break with 0.1% DMsO as negative control. Dose for the antigenotoxic effect of cow’ urine was chosen from the dose response study carried out earlier. Results Both actinomycin-D and H2O2 caused statistically significant DNA unwinding of 80% & 75% respectively (Ps revealed by fluorimetric analysis of DNA unwinding (FADU), and the damage could be protected with the redistilled cow urine distillate (1, 50 & 100 ) in simultaneous treatment with genotoxic chemicals. Conclusion The redistillate of cowurine was found to possess total antioxidant status of around 2.6 mmol, contributed mainly by volatile fatty acids (1500 mg/L) as revealed by the GC-Ms studies. These fatty acids and other antioxidants might cause the observed protective effects.
