Equivalent series system to model a multiple friction pendulum system with numerous sliding interfaces for seismic analyses

Current structural analysis software programs offer few if any applicable device-specifi c hysteresis rules or nonlinear elements to simulate the precise mechanical behavior of a multiple friction pendulum system(MFPs) with numerous sliding *** on the concept of subsystems,an equivalent series system that adopts existing nonlinear elements with parameters systematically calculated and mathematically proven through rigorous derivations is *** aim is to simulate the characteristics of sliding motions for an MFPs isolation system with numerous concave sliding interfaces without prior knowledge of detailed information on the mobilized forces at various sliding *** MFPs with numerous concave sliding interfaces and one articulated or rigid slider located between these interfaces is divided into two subsystems: the fi rst represents the concave sliding interfaces above the slider,and the second represents those below the *** equivalent series system for the entire system is then obtained by connecting those for each subsystem in *** equivalent series system is validated by comparing numerical results for an MFPs with four sliding interfaces obtained from the proposed method with those from a previous study by Fenz and ***,these numerical results demonstrate that an MFPs isolator with numerous concave sliding interfaces,which may have any number of sliding interfaces,is a good isolation device to protect structures from earthquake damage through appropriate designs with controllable mechanisms.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of similar and dissimilar metal gas tungsten constricted arc welds:Maraging steel to 13-8 Mo stainless steel

Maraging steel (250) and 13-8 Mo stainless steel plates were joined by gas tungsten constricted arc welding(GTCAW) process in similar and dissimilar metal combinations using 13-8 Mo stainless steel filler wire. The similar and dissimilar metal welds made in solutionized condition were subjected to standard post weld hardening treatments direct ageing at 485 ℃, soaking for 31/2 hours followed by air cooling(ageing treatment of maraging steel) and direct ageing at 510 ℃, soaking for 4 h followed by air cooling(ageing treatment of 13-8 Mo stainless steel). The joint characterization studies include microstructure examination, microhardness survey across the weldments and transverse weld tensile *** and dissimilar metal weldments responded to both the post weld ageing treatment. After post weld aging, increase in yield strength, UTs and slight reduction in % elongation of similar and dissimilar metal were observed. The observed tensile properties were correlated with microstructure and hardness distribution across the welds.

Currently,the growth of micro and nano(very large scale integration-ultra large-scale integration)electronics technology has greatly impacted biomedical signal processing *** high-speed micro and nano technology devices are very reliable despite their capacity to operate at tremendous speed,and can be designed to consume less power in minimum response time,which is particularly useful in biomedical *** rapid technological scaling of the metal-oxide-semi-conductor(MOs)devices aids in mapping multiple applications for a specific purpose on a single chip which motivates us to design a sophisticated,small and reliable application specific integrated circuit(AsIC)chip for future real time medical signal separation and processing(digital stetho-scopes and digital microelectromechanical systems(MEMs)microphone).In this paper,AsIC level implementation of the adaptive line enhancer design using adaptive filtering algorithms(least mean square(LMs)and normalized least mean square(NLMs))integrated design is used to separate the real-time auscultation sound signals *** line enhancer(ALE)design is imple-mented in Verilog hardware description language(HDL)language to obtain both the network and adaptive algorithm in cadence Taiwan semiconductor Manufacturing Company(TsMC)90 nm standard cell library environment for AsIC level *** compiled simulator(NC)sim and RC lab were used for functional verification and design constraints and the physical design is implemented in Encounter to obtain the Geometric Data stream(GDs II).In this architecture,the area occupied is 0.08 mm,the total power consumed is 5.05 mW and the computation time of the proposed system is 0.82μs for LMs design and the area occupied is 0.14 mm,the total power consumed is 4.54 mW and the computation time of the proposed system is 0.03μs for NLMs design that will pave a better way in future electronic stethoscope design.

Moringa oleifera Lam. leaf extract mitigates carbon tetrachloride-mediated hepatic inflammation and apoptosis via targeting oxidative stress and toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor kappa B pathway in mice

Carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)is a hepatotoxin that triggers liver *** study aimed to evaluate the protective effect of phytochemicals detected in Moringa oleifera *** extract(MOLE)on CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity in ***,total phenolics,and total fl avonoids were detected in *** markedly decreased the elevation of serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AsT)in consistence with the ameliorating effect on CCl4-induced histopathological ***,MOLE significantly alleviated the decrease in the antioxidant defense mechanism induced by *** suppressing effect of MOLE on the boosted inflammatory pathway triggered by CCl4 was detected by measuring the protein levels of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B-cells(NF-κB-p65),toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1β,and IL-8 as well as the relative expressions of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),TNF-α,IL-1β,and TLR4 *** and genotoxicity induced by CCl4 were signifi cantly alleviated by *** co-administration modulated TLR4/NF-κB pathway as presented by the suppressed gene expression of TLR4 and NF-κB as well as by the reduced protein expression of TLR4 and NF-κ*** conclusion,MOLE has a multifarious protective role against hepatotoxicity through control of oxidative stress and modulation of TLR4/NF-κB.

Hot workability of as-cast and extruded ZE41A magnesium alloy using processing maps

The hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of as-cast and extruded ZE41A magnesium alloy were studied using processing maps. The compression tests were conducted on both as-cast and extruded alloys in the temperature range of 250-450 ℃ and strain rate range of 0.001-1.0 s^-1 to establish the processing map. The dynamic recrystallization （DRX） and instability zones were identified and validated through micrographs. The extruded ZE41A magnesium alloy shows higher flow stress, higher efficiency and lower instability regimes than as-cast alloy. The extruded ZE41A magnesium alloy achieves good hot workability due to grain refinement, decrease in porosity, hardening and strengthening of the material.

Lead levels of Culex mosquito larvae inhabiting lead utilizing factory

Objective:To determine lead level primarily in Culex quinquefasciatus(***), and Culex gelidus(***) larvae inhabiting lead consuming factories,and to putatively estimate eco-toxicological impact of effluents from the ***:Third instars larvae were sampled by standard dipping method and lead concentrations in the larvae and their respective surrounding factory aquatic environments were determined through standard atomic absorption spectrophotometry(AAs).Results:*** was the most abundant species followed by *** levels of lead were higher in the ***(1.08-47.47μg/g),than in the wastewaters surface(0.01-0.78 μg/mL) from the factories or closer areas around factories. Other species were not reaching *** for lead ***:The Cx. quinquefasciatus larvae can bio-accumulate the metal and can potentially serve as a biomarker of lead contamination,to complemente conventional techniques.

P-Bifurcation of stochastic van der Pol Model as a Dynamical system in Neuroscience

Effect of Temperature on Volumetric and Viscometric Properties of Homologous Amino Acids in Aqueous solutions of Metformin Hydrochloride

Density（ρ）and viscosity（η）are measured for glycine,DL-α-alanine DL-α-valine,and DL-α-leucine in 0.05,0.10,0.15 and 0.20 mol·L^-1aqueous metformin hydrochloride at 308.15,313.15 and 318.15 *** measured values are used to estimate some important parameters,such as partial molal volume Vφ,standard partial molal volume Vφ^0,transfer volume ΔVφ^0,hydration number nH,the second derivative of infinite dilution of partial molal volume with respect to temperature,viz., ^2 Vφ^0 /T^2,viscosity B-coefficient,variation of B with temperature,viz., dB/dT,free energy of activation per mole of solvent Δμ1^＊0 and solute Δμ2^0＊ of the amino *** parameters are interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions and structure making/breaking ability of solutes in the given *** addition,Vφ^0,0 ΔVφ^0,viscosity B-coefficient,ΔB and Δμ2 ^0＊ are split into group contributions（NH3^＋ COO ^-）and -CH2 of the amino acids using their linear correlation and their behavior is discussed.
