Theoretical investigation of micropolar fluid flow between two porous disks

The steady, laminar, incompressible and two dimensional micropolar flow between two porous disks was investigated using optimal homotopy asymptotic method(OHAM) and fourth order Runge–Kutta numerical method. Comparison between OHAM and numerical method shows that OHAM is an exact and high efficient method for solving these kinds of problems. The results are presented to study the velocity and rotation profiles for different physical parameters such as Reynolds number, vortex viscosity parameter, spin gradient viscosity and microinertia density parameter. As an important outcome, the magnitude of the microrotation increases with an increase in the values of injection velocity while it decreases by increasing the values of suction velocity.

electrospinning is a useful and efficient technique to produce polymeric nanofibers. Nanofibers of polymers are electrospun by creating an electrically charged jet of polymer solution. Numerical study on non-Newtonian and viscoelastic jets of polymer nanofibers in electrospinning process is presented in this work. In particular, the effect of non-Newtonian rheology on the jet profile during the electrospinning process is examined. The governing equations of the problem are solved numerically using the Keller-Box method. The effects of yield stress and power-law index on the elongation, velocity, stress and total force are presented and discussed in detail. The results show that by increasing the values of yield stress, the fluid elongation is reduced significantly.

A simple and highly accurate semi-analytical method, called the differential transformation method(DTM), was used for solving the nonlinear temperature distribution equation in solid and porous longitudinal fin with temperature dependent internal heat generation. The problem was solved for two main cases. In the first case, heat generation was assumed variable by fin temperature for a solid fin and in second heat generation varied with temperature for a porous fin. Results are presented for the temperature distribution for a range of values of parameters appearing in the mathematical formulation(e.g. N, εG, and G). Results reveal that DTM is very effective and convenient. Also, it is found that this method can achieve more suitable results in comparison to numerical methods.

In this work, the exp-function method is employed to find new wave solutions for the sine-Gordon and Ostrovsky equation. The equations are simplified to the nonlinear partial differential equations and then different types of exact solutions are extracted by this method. It is shown that the exp-function method is a powerful analytical method for solving other nonlinear equations occurring in nonlinear physical phenomena. Results are presented in contour plots that show the different values of effective parameters on the velocity profiles.

In this paper, a non-Newtonian third-grade blood in coronary and femoral arteries is simulated analytically and numerically. The blood is considered as the third- grade non-Newtonian fluid under the periodic body acceleration motion and the pulsatile pressure gradient. The hybrid multi-step differential transformation method （Hybrid-Ms- DTM） and the Crank-Nicholson method （CNM） are used to solve the partial differential equation （PDe）, and a good agreement between them is observed in the results. The effects of the some physical parameters such as the amplitude, the lead angle, and the body acceleration frequency on the velocity and shear stress profiles are considered. The results show that increasing the amplitude, Ag, and reducing the lead angle of body acceleration, 9, make higher velocity profiles on the center line of both arteries. Also, the maximum wall shear stress increases when Ag increases.

Objective:Moshgak(Ducrosia anethifolia)is a wild plant with medicinal *** present study aimed to evaluate the effect of Moshgak on the liver tissue of the diabetic rat *** and Methods:In this animal study,the aqueous-alcoholic extract of Moshgak was prepared in the standard *** rats were divided randomly into five groups,including control,sham,and three diabetic *** rats were diabetic with intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of streptozotocin(80 mg)and 2 diabetic groups were treated with Moshgak extract(280 and 560 mg/kg/bw)for 19 *** rats were anesthetized and their blood was taken to measure the blood glucose,insulin,and ***,their fetuses were *** fetal liver sections were obtained by using the stereological *** micrometry of the liver tissue was performed and data were ***:The finding showed a statistically significant increase(Pe total volume of liver,connective tissue,sinusoid,and hepatocytes in diabetic rats compared to control rats,while these parameters decreased significantly in treated groups with *** cell count hepatic decreased in the treated ***,the changes in blood glucose,malondialdehyde,and insulin in diabetic rats were improved significantly by Moshgak *** dilation of sinusoids,hepatocyte vacuolation,and mild lymphocytosis was observed in all diabetic groups except the treatment group with Moshgak 560 mg/kg/***:According to obtained results,Moshgak extract was able to compensate partially the changes induced by diabetes in the fetal liver ***,due to the side effects of diabetes during pregnancy,further research on anti-diabetic properties of Moshgak is suggested.

Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world *** study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GeA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization *** efficiency and accuracy of GeA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CeC 2005,CeC 2014,CeC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark ***,GeA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its *** addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GeA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization *** results demonstrate that GeA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PsO,and *** that the source code of the GeA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of discrete monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed *** developed model can represent the wave propagation problem in a non-homogeneous material consisting of heavy inclusions embedded in a *** inclusions are idealized by lumped masses,and the matrix between adjacent inclusions is modeled by a nonlinear spring with distributed ***,the model is capable of depicting the wave propagation in bi-material bars,wherein the first material is represented by a rigid particle and the second one is represented by a nonlinear spring with distributed *** discrete model of the nonlinear monoatomic chain with lumped and distributed masses is first considered,and a closed-form expression of the dispersion relation is obtained by the second-order Lindstedt-Poincare method(LPM).Next,a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chain is derived directly from its discrete lattice model by a suitable continualization *** subsequent use of the second-order method of multiple scales(MMs)facilitates the derivation of the corresponding nonlinear dispersion relation in a closed *** novelties of the present study consist of(i)considering the inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of the discrete mass-spring chains;(ii)developing the second-order LPM for the wave propagation in the discrete chains;and(iii)deriving a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed ***,a parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of the design parameters and the distributed spring mass on the nonlinear dispersion relations and phase velocities obtained from both the discrete and continuum *** parameters include the ratio of the spring mass to the lumped mass,the nonlinear stiffness coefficient of the spring,and the wave amplitude.
