This paper presents the analytical modeling of subthreshold current and subthreshold swing of short- channel fully-depleted （FD） strained-si-on-insulator （ssOI） MOsFETs having vertical Gaussian-like doping pro- file in the channel. The subthreshold current and subthreshold swing have been derived using the parabolic approx- imation method. In addition to the effect of strain on silicon layer, various other device parameters such as channel length （L）, gate-oxide thickness （tox）, strained-si channel thickness （ts_si）, peak doping concentration （Np）, project range （Rp） and straggle （op） of the Gaussian profile have been considered while predicting the device characteris- tics. The present work may help to overcome the degradation in subthreshold characteristics with strain engineering. These subthreshold current and swing models provide valuable information for strained-si MOsFET design. Ac- curacy of the proposed models is verified using the commercially available ATLAsTM, a two-dimensional （2D） device simulator from sILVACO.

Background and Aims: Pectoral nerve blocks gained increasing recognition for adequate postoperative pain relief following breast surgery. Traditionally, anaesthetist administered preoperatively under ultrasound guidance, which added significantly to the total procedure time. We studied the effectiveness of intraoperative direct vision pectoral nerve block and reduction of total theatre time. Methods: We provided questionnaires to the eligible patients who underwent a mastectomy and or axillary node clearance from August 2018 to May 2019. All the patients had an intra-operative pectoral 1 and serratus plane (Pecs) block. Participants documented pain score twice daily, episodes of nausea or vomiting and type and dose of analgesia for the first seven postoperative days. We compiled and grouped the results into postoperative days 1 - 2 and 3 - 7 for data analysis. Results: Patients reported generally low levels of pain, with a median pain score of 1.75 out of 10 for postoperative days 1 - 2 (IQR 4). The score decreased to 0.7 for days 3 - 7 postoperatively (IQR 3) suggesting that most patients had generally minimal levels of pain apart from a few outliers. The average injection time for PECs blocks was 5 minutes, significantly less than Uss guided techniques of 20 - 30 minutes. Conclusions: Our data suggest that nerve blocks under direct vision offer satisfactory efficacy in postoperative analgesia with minimal nausea and vomiting. This is in addition to substantial benefits in operative efficiency and reduction of total procedure time.

Disease prediction in plants has acquired much attention in recent *** factors such as:temperature,relative humidity,rainfall,sunshine play an important role in a plan’s growth only if they are present in adequate amounts as required by the *** the other hand,if the factors are inadequate,they may also support the growth of a disease in the *** current study focuses on the Rust disease in Aonla fruits and leaves by utilizing a real time dataset of weather *** different models are tested for spray prediction on conducive *** resampling techniques,random over sampling(ROs)and synthetic minority oversampling technique(sMOTE)have been used to balance the dataset and five different classifiers:support vector machine(sVM),logistic regression(LR),k-nearest neighbor(kNN),decision tree(DT)and random forest(RF)have been used to classify a particular day based on weather conditions as conducive or *** classifiers are then evaluated based on four performance metrics:accuracy,precision,recall and *** results indicate that for imbalanced dataset,kNN is appropriate with high precision and recall *** both balanced and imbalanced dataset models,the proposed model sMOTE-RF performs best among all models with 94.6%accuracy and can be used in a real time application for spray ***,timely fungicide spray prediction without over spraying will help in better productivity and will prevent the yield loss due to rust disease in Aonla crop.

Response of salt-Tolerant Rice Varieties to Biocompost Application in sodic soil of Eastern Uttar Pradesh

sodic soils have immense productivity potential, if managed through proper technology interventions. Biocompost is prepared by composting pressmud (a sugar industry byproduct) received from cane juice filtration and spent wash received from distilleries through microbial aerobic decomposition and can be used to reclaim sodic soils. Field experiments were conducted during the wet season of 2011 and 2012 to study the effect of incorporation of biocompost in sodic soil with four treatments: T1—Control, T2—Biocompost at 2 t ha-1, T3—Biocompost at 4 t ha-1 and T4—Biocompost at 6 t ha-1. The two promising salt tolerant rice varieties preferred by farmers, Narendra usar 3 and NDR 359 were used as test crops, which can produce yields ranging between 2-4 t ha-1 in soil having a pH range of 9.2 to 10.5. Among the different doses of biocompost tested, application of biocompost at 6 t ha-1 registered highest yields, enabled by a higher biomass, ear bearing tiller (EBT), and grain fertility in both varieties. Narendra usar 3 was more responsive to treatments even at lower doses of biocompost than NDR 359, but NDR 359 yielded slightly higher than Narendra usar 3 in all treatments. soil health was also improved evidently on better fertility and low soil pH and EC at harvest. Thus, biocompost can be considered as a commercially viable, environmentally acceptable and practically enforceable option for improving the crop productivity and soil fertility status.
