Therapeutic potential of ethyl acetate fraction of Tephrosia purpurea *** in a rat model of gout

Objective: The present study is to determine the potential treatment effects of ethyl acetate fraction of Tephrosia purpurea Linn. leaves(EATP) against ***: Gout in experimental rats was induced with potassium oxonate at the dose of 250 mg/kg(intraperitoneal injection) for 7 consecutive days;EATP was administered 1 h after administration of the potassium oxonate on each day of experiment. Potassium oxonate was discontinued on the 8 th day;thereafter allopurinol(10 mg/kg, p.o.) and EATP(200 and 400 mg/kg, p.o.) were continued until day 14. The uric acid level was measured from serum and urine during the experiment. Other biochemical parameters were assessed, including blood and urine creatinine, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and total protein. Blood urea nitrogen, serum aspartate aminotransferase serum alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase were also measured. The blood was analyzed for levels of malondialdehyde and the antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione *** and radiological changes in the ankle of rats were observed after completion of the ***: EATP was able to decrease serum uric acid and creatinine level;it also reduced inflammation,oxidative stress and lysosomal enzyme level, which has a role in acute inflammation. EATP increased uric acid excretion through urine due to its uricosuric ***: EATP lowered the serum uric acid level and increased the urine uric acid level through excretion, which is useful in the treatment of gout. Hence the EATP was found to be helpful in the treatment of gout.

Plant polyphenols have recently gained attention in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries due to their various therapeutic ***,the polyphenols are prone to oxidation,unstable towards heat,light,pH and their unpleasant taste also limits their *** usage of encapsulated polyphenols can alleviate these drawbacks and hence,efficient encapsulation methods have been *** present study focused on the synthesis of microspheres of Piper betle polyphenols by extrusion method using alginate and assesses the impact of alginate encapsulation on stability,bioavailability and therapeutic *** of Piper betle were studied for their stability,yield,size,characterized by using sEM for surface morphology and FTIR and evaluated for their bioavailability using in vitro simulated gastrointestinal digestion and therapeutic properties for a period of 24 *** results showed that encapsulation was successful using extrusion technique and the stability was improved as it protected the polyphenols and antioxidant from degradation for a period of 24 *** addition,bioavailability was also increased in small intestine and the antioxidant and antidiabetic properties were better retained after ***,this study showed that encapsulation of polyphenols of Piper betle leaves with alginate improved stability and can be a promising technique for food supplementation/nutraceutical with natural antioxidants.

The Brazilian Tropical Moist Forest Biome(BTMFB)spans almost 4 million km^(2) and is subject to extensive annual fires that have been categorized into deforestation,maintenance,and forest fire *** on fire types is important as they have different atmospheric emissions and ecological impacts.A supervised classification methodology is presented to classify the fire type of MODerate resolution Imaging spectroradiometer(MODIs)active fire detections using training data defined by consideration of Brazilian government forest monitoring program annual land cover maps,and using predictor variables concerned with fuel flammability,fuel load,fire behavior,fire seasonality,fire annual frequency,proximity to surface transportation,and local *** fire seasonality,local temperature,and fuel flammability were the most influential on the *** fire type results for all 1.6 million MODIs Terra and Aqua BTMFB active fire detections over eight years(2003–2010)are presented with an overall fire type classification accuracy of 90.9%(kappa 0.824).The fire type user’s and producer’s classification accuracies were respectively 92.4%and 94.4%(maintenance fires),88.4%and 87.5%(forest fires),and,88.7%and 75.0%(deforestation fires).The spatial and temporal distribution of the classified fire types are presented and are similar to patterns reported in the available recent literature.

In this work, uranine-dyed zinc（tris） thiourea sulfate（ZTs） monocrystals, 26 mm×15 mm×10 mm in size, were synthesized by the solution method at ambient temperature. Their purity, crystallinity, lattice parameters, and functional modes were studied by x-ray diffraction, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）, and FT-Raman spectroscopy analyses. The sodium ion content of the crystals from the dye was confirmed by elemental analysis. The diffused reflectance spectral analysis of the dyed crystal revealed a characteristic absorption band at 490 nm attributed to the presence of the dye. The calculated band gaps of the non-dyed and dyed crystals were 4.53 and 4.57 e V, respectively. A green emission peak at ～（512 ± 4） nm was observed in the photoluminescence spectrum of the uranine-dyed crystals. A differential scanning calorimetry study confirmed that the thermal stability improved owing to the addition of the dye. Dielectric and microhardness studies were conducted to examine the significant improvements in the corresponding properties of dyed crystals. The results demonstrated the competency of the dyed ZTs crystals for applications in optoelectronic devices.

We consider the systematics of α-decay half-lives of super-heavy nuclei versus the decay energy and the total α-kinetic energy. We calculate the half-lives using the experimental Qα values. The computed half-lives are compared with the experimental data and with existing empirical estimates and are found to be in good agreement. Also, we obtain α-preformation factors from the ratio between theoretical and experimental results for some super- heavy nuclei and evaluate the standard deviation. The results indicate the acceptability of the approach.

We investigate the dependency of strain rate,temperature and size on yield strength of hexagonal close packed（HcP） nanowires based on large-scale molecular dynamics（MD） simulation.A variance-based analysis has been proposed to quantify relative sensitivity of the three controlling factors on the yield strength of the *** of the major drawbacks of conventional MD simulation based studies is that the simulations are computationally very intensive and economically *** scale molecular dynamics simulation needs supercomputing access and the larger the number of atoms,the longer it takes time and computational *** this reason it becomes practically impossible to perform a robust and comprehensive analysis that requires multiple simulations such as sensitivity analysis,uncertainty quantification and *** propose a novel surrogate based molecular dynamics（sBMD）simulation approach that enables us to carry out thousands of virtual simulations for different combinations of the controlling factors in a computationally efficient way by performing only few MD *** the sBMD simulation approach an efficient optimum design scheme has been developed to predict optimized size of the nanowire to maximize the yield *** the effect of inevitable uncertainty associated with the controlling factors has been quantified using Monte carlo *** we have confined our analyses in this article for Magnesium nanowires only,the proposed approach can be extended to other materials for computationally intensive nano-scale investigation involving multiple factors of influence.
