Background The Inspiration4(I4)mission,the first all-civilian orbital flight mission,investigated the physiological effects of short-duration spaceflight through a multi-omic *** advances,there remains much to learn about human adaptation to spaceflight's unique challenges,including microgravity,immune system perturbations,and radiation *** To provide a detailed genetics analysis of the mission,we collected dried blood spots pre-,during,and post-flight for DNA *** length was measured by quantitative PCR,while whole genome and cfDNA sequencing provided insight into genomic stability and immune adaptations.A robust bioinformatic pipeline was used for data analysis,including variant calling to assess mutational *** Telomere elongation occurred during spaceflight and shortened after return to ***-free DNA analysis revealed increased immune cell signatures *** significant clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential(CHIP)or whole-genome instability was *** long-term gene expression changes across immune cells suggested cellular adaptations to the space environment persisting months *** Our findings provide valuable insights into the physiological consequences of short-duration spaceflight,with telomere dynamics and immune cell gene expression adapting to spaceflight and persisting after return to *** sequencing data will serve as a reference point for studying the early development of CHIP in astronauts,an understudied phenomenon as previous studies have focused on career *** study will serve as a reference point for future commercial and non-commercial spaceflight,low Earth orbit(LEO)missions,and deep-space exploration.

Adaptive Particle swarm Optimization Data Hiding for High security secret Image sharing

The main aim of this work is to improve the security of data hiding forsecret image sharing. The privacy and security of digital information have becomea primary concern nowadays due to the enormous usage of digital *** security and the privacy of users’ images are ensured through reversible datahiding techniques. The efficiency of the existing data hiding techniques did notprovide optimum performance with multiple end nodes. These issues are solvedby using separable Data Hiding and Adaptive Particle swarm Optimization(sDHAPsO) algorithm to attain optimal performance. Image encryption, dataembedding, data extraction/image recovery are the main phases of the proposedapproach. DFT is generally used to extract the transform coefficient matrix fromthe original image. DFT coefficients are in float format, which assists in transforming the image to integral format using the round function. After obtainingthe encrypted image by data-hider, additional data embedding is formulated intohigh-frequency coefficients. The proposed sDHAPsO is mainly utilized for performance improvement through optimal pixel location selection within the imagefor secret bits concealment. In addition, the secret data embedding capacityenhancement is focused on image visual quality maintenance. Hence, it isobserved from the simulation results that the proposed sDHAPsO techniqueoffers high-level security outcomes with respect to higher PsNR, security level,lesser MsE and higher correlation than existing techniques. Hence, enhancedsensitive information protection is attained, which improves the overall systemperformance.

Convolution-Based Heterogeneous Activation Facility for Effective Machine Learning of ECG signals

Machine Learning(ML)and Deep Learning(DL)technologies are revolutionizing the medical domain,especially with Electrocardiogram(ECG),by providing new tools and techniques for diagnosing,treating,and preventing ***,DL architectures are computationally more *** recent years,researchers have focused on combining the computationally less intensive portion of the DL architectures with ML approaches,say for example,combining the convolutional layer blocks of Convolution Neural Networks(CNNs)into ML algorithms such as Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)resulting in CNN-XGBoost and CNN-KNN,***,these approaches are homogenous in the sense that they use a fixed Activation Function(AFs)in the sequence of convolution and pooling layers,thereby limiting the ability to capture unique *** various AFs are readily available and each could capture unique features,we propose a Convolutionbased Heterogeneous Activation Facility(CHAF)which uses multiple AFs in the convolution layer blocks,one for each block,with a motivation of extracting features in a better manner to improve the *** proposed CHAF approach is validated on PTB and shown to outperform the homogeneous approaches such as CNN-KNN and *** PTB dataset,proposed CHAF-KNN has an accuracy of 99.55%and an F1 score of 99.68%in just 0.008 s,outperforming the state-of-the-art CNN-XGBoost which has an accuracy of 99.38%and an F1 score of 99.32%in 1.23 *** validate the generality of the proposed CHAF,experiments were repeated on MIT-BIH dataset,and the proposed CHAF-KNN is shown to outperform CNN-KNN and CNN-XGBoost.

Influence of thermomechanical processing on microstructure,mechanical and strain hardening properties of single-phase Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy for structural application

The single-phase Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy was rolled at three different temperatures(250,300 and 350℃)and followed by annealing at 200°C for 10 *** evaluate the mechanical properties,the tensile test was conducted at a constant strain rate of 10^(-3)s^(-1).Factors influencing the tensile strength and strain hardening properties were assessed by microscopy,XRD and EBsD ***,Kocks-Mecking plots(K-M)were used to determine the different stages of strain hardening exhibited by the variously processed Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy test *** ultimate tensile strength has decreased as hot-rolling temperature in creases with increased *** strain hardening properties such as hardening capacity(Hc),strain hardening exponent(n)are increased significantly with an increase in hot rolling temperature and subsequent annealing.

Validation of Foreground Emission Model using GALEX Medium Observations

The study of diffuse ultraviolet(UV)background radiation is vital in the investigation of stellar and galactic ***-based UV observations are comprised of both foreground and background *** foreground emission in an observation is a result of solar contamination in the direction of *** our previous work,we modeled airglow(one of the major constituents of the foreground emission)as a function of10.7 cm solar Flux and sun Angle with great accuracy using GALEX deep *** adopt a similar methodology to validate the obtained model and run equivalent experiments here using far-UV(FUV)and nearUV(NUV)GALEX medium imaging surveys(MIs)with a total exposure time greater than 3300 *** obtained a predictive model having excellent compatibility with the earlier *** analysis shows that the total foreground emission varies between 59 and 295 photon units in FUV whereas in NUV,it varies between 671 and1195 photon units depending upon the date and time of *** also noticed a strong correlation between the background emission and optical depth both in FUV and NUV,especially in the low density *** clearly indicates that the major contributor in diffuse background radiation is the starlight scattered by interstellar dust grains.

We propose an active learning scheme for automatically sampling a minimum number of uncorrelated configurations for fitting the Gaussian Approximation Potential(GAP).Our active learning scheme consists of an unsupervised machine learning(ML)scheme coupled with a Bayesian optimization technique that evaluates the GAP *** apply this scheme to a Hafnium dioxide(HfO2)dataset generated from a“melt-quench”ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)*** results show that the active learning scheme,with no prior knowledge of the dataset,is able to extract a configuration that reaches the required energy fit ***,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations performed using this active learned GAP model on 6144 atom systems of amorphous and liquid state elucidate the structural properties of HfO2 with near ab initio precision and quench rates(i.e.,1.0 K/ps)not accessible via *** melt and amorphous X-ray structural factors generated from our simulation are in good agreement with *** addition,the calculated diffusion constants are in good agreement with previous ab initio studies.

Effect of Polymer Inclusion in Preparation of Thick LZO Buffer Layers for YBCO Coated Conductors

In this work, water-based precursor solutions suitable for dip-coating of thick La2Zr2O7 （LZO） buffer layers for coated conductors on Ni-5%W substrates with an inclusion of polymeric polyvinyl pyrrolidone were developed. The effect of varying percentage of the polymer addition on the preparation of the deposited films with maximum crack-free thickness was investigated. This novel water-based chemical solution deposition method involving polymers in two different chelate-chemistry compositions revealed the possibility to grow single, crack-free layers with thicknesses ranging from 140 to 280 nm, with good crystallinity and epitaxial growth. The effect of increasing polymer concentrations on the morphology and the structure of the films was studied. The appropriate buffer layer action of the films in preventing Ni diffusion was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Metallurgical analysis of a failed maraging steel shear screw used in the band separation system of a satellite launch vehicle

Maraging steels have excellent combination of strength and toughness and are extensively used for a variety of aerospace applications. In one such critical application, this steel was used to fabricate shear screws of a stage separation system in a satellite launch vehicle. During assembly preparations, one of the shear screws which connected the separation band and band end block has failed at the first thread. Microstructural analysis revealed that the crack originated from the root of the thread and propagated in an intergranular mode. The failure is attributed to combined effect of stress and corrosion leading to stress corrosion cracking.
