The creation of 3D nanofibers offering desirable functions for bone regeneration is developed due to the latest improvisations to the electrospinning *** polymers are among the best choices for medical usage due to their lower costs,high tensile properties,and ease of spinnability compared to natural *** this communication,we report a series of interventions to polymers modified with Mg-based fillers for ideal tissue engineering *** literature survey indicated that these filler materials(e.g.,nano-sized particles)enhanced biocompatibility,antibacterial activity,tensile strength,and anti-corrosive *** review discusses electrospinning parameters,properties,and applications of the poly(ε-caprolactone),poly(lactic acid),poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid-co-3-hydroxy valeric acid),polyurethane,and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)nanofibers when modified with Mg-based *** report encourages researchers to use synthetic polymers with Mg as fillers and validate them for tissue engineering applications.

Türkiye is located in a seismically active region,where the Anatolian,African,and Arabian tectonic plates *** seismic hazards cause the region to be struck repeatedly by major *** February 06,2023,a devastating M_(W)7.7 earthquake struck Türkiye at 01:17 am local time(01:17 UTC).In this regard,near and far-field ground motion data within the distance of 120 km are compiled and later characterized to identify the key ground motion intensity ***,the vertical components of ground motions were examined to capture the complete three-dimensional nature of the seismic ***,the effect of Pulse-Like(PL)and Non-Pulse-Like(NPL)ground motion on a representative RC frame structure built as per the Türkiye code was *** results indicate that PL behavior was observed in both horizontal and vertical components of ground motions and PL behavior were noted both near the epicenter and at higher distances from the ***,the ratio of the peak vertical acceleration to peak horizontal acceleration at certain stations was found to be close to ***,the non-linear time history analysis of the representative reinforced concrete frame structure for ground motions recorded at stations located equidistant from the epicenter,indicated that PL ground motions led to more significant damage compared to NPL ground motions.

Modal Frequency Prediction of Chladni Patterns Using Machine Learning

The introduction of machine learning (ML) in the research domain is a new era technique. The machine learning algorithm is developed for frequency predication of patterns that are formed on the Chladni plate and focused on the application of machine learning algorithms in image processing. In the Chladni plate, nodes and antinodes are demonstrated at various excited frequencies. sand on the plate creates specific patterns when it is excited by vibrations from a mechanical oscillator. In the experimental setup, a rectangular aluminum plate of 16 cm x 16 cm and 0.61 mm thickness was placed over the mechanical oscillator, which was driven by a sine wave signal generator. 14 Chladni patterns are obtained on a Chladni plate and validation is done with modal analysis in Ansys. For machine learning, a large number of data sets are required, as captured around 200 photos of each modal frequency and around 3000 photos with a camera of all 14 Chladni patterns for supervised learning. The current model is written in Python language and model has one convolution layer. The main modules used in this are Tensor Flow Keras, NumPy, CV2 and Maxpooling. The fed reference data is taken for 14 frequencies between 330 Hz to 3910 Hz. In the model, all the images are converted to grayscale and canny edge detected. All patterns of frequencies have an almost 80% - 99% correlation with test sample experimental data. This approach is to form a directory of Chladni patterns for future reference purpose in real-life application. A machine learning algorithm can predict the resonant frequency based on the patterns formed on the Chladni plate.

We investigated the emission properties of Eu3+-doped GdNbO4-based oxide phosphors,aiming at improving the Eu3+emission by codoping of Bi3+and Li+.Eu3+singly doped,Eu3+and Bi3+doubly doped,and Eu3+,Bi3+,and Li+triply doped GdNbO4were prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction *** red-orange emissions from Eu3+in the singly doped samples are significantly improved by the codoping of Bi3+,mainly due to the energy transfer from Bi3+to Eu3+.The additional codoping of Li+is found to increase the Eu3+emission *** improvement might be attributed to the increase in the photoluminescent quantum yield originating from larger grain sizes and better crystallinity.A detailed analysis of the X-ray diffraction pattern and the asymmetric ratio estimated from the photoluminescence spectra show that the local lattice environment around Eu3+in GdNbO4does not change significantly with the codoping of Bi3+and Li+.Our results indicate that Li+doping is a promising way to improve the emission properties of rare-earth ion-doped GdNbO4phosphors.

Enhancing fatigue performance of AZ31 magnesium alloy components fabricated by cold metal transfer-based wire arc directed energy deposition through LPB

Cold Metal Transfer-Based Wire Arc Directed Energy Deposition(CMT-WA-DED)presents a promising avenue for the rapid fabrication of components crucial to automotive,shipbuilding,and aerospace ***,the susceptibility to fatigue of CMT-WA-DED-produced AZ31 Mg alloy components has impeded their widespread adoption for critical load-bearing *** this study,a comprehensive investigation into the fatigue behaviour of WA-DED-fabricated AZ31 Mg alloy has been carried out and compared to commercially available wrought AZ31 *** findings indicate that the as-deposited parts exhibit a lower fatigue life than wrought Mg alloy,primarily due to poor surface finish,tensile residual stress,porosity,and coarse grain microstructure inherent in the WA-DED *** Plasticity Burnishing(LPB)treatment is applied to mitigate these issues,which induce significant plastic deformation on the *** treatment resulted in a remarkable improvement of fatigue life by 42%,accompanied by a reduction in surface roughness,grain refinement and enhancement of compressive residual stress ***,during cyclic deformation,WA-DED specimens exhibited higher plasticity and dislocation density compared to both wrought and WA-DED+LPB specimens.A higher fraction of Low Angle Grain Boundaries(LAGBs)in WA-DED specimens contributed to multiple crack initiation sites and convoluted crack paths,ultimately leading to premature *** contrast,wrought and WA-DED+LPB specimens displayed a higher percentage of High Angle Grain Boundaries(HAGBs),which hindered dislocation movement and resulted in fewer crack initiation sites and less complex crack paths,thereby extending fatigue *** findings underscore the effectiveness of LPB as a post-processing technique to enhance the fatigue performance of WA-DED-fabricated AZ31 Mg alloy *** study highlights the importance of LPB surface treatment on AZ31 Mg components produced by CMT-WA-DED to remove surface d
