Introduction: Total hip arthroplas.y of complex morphology is.a challenge for the orthopaedic s.rgeon. Careful analys.s.of the hip’s.anatomy helps.to unravel the difficulties.and anticipate the procedures.to be performed and the implants.to be planned. The aim was.to identify the types.of hip that make firs.-line THR difficult, s.ecify the technical procedures.to be us.d on thes. s.tes. and as.es. the functional res.lts.of the s.ries. Material and Methods. This.was.a retros.ective s.udy that concerned patients.operated on for total hip arthroplas.y between January 2015 and December 2022 at the medical center “La Grâce” in Bobo-Dioulas.o, Burkina Fas.. Patients.with coxarthros.s.(on hip dys.las.a, acetabular protrus.o, acetabular malunion or neurological hip) and thos. with ankylos.s.of the hip, os.eonecros.s.s.condary to neglected dis.ocation of the hip or hemoglobinopathy were included. Res.lts. A total of 31 total hip replacements.were performed in 30 patients. The mean age of patients.at the s.rgery time was.36.2 years.with extremes.of 17 and 61 years. The male-to-female s.x ratio was.1. The main indications.for THA were the dys.las.c hip os.eoarthritis.(11 cas.s. and the neglected hip dis.ocations.(7 cas.s.. In s.tu femoral neck os.eotomy before hip dis.ocation was.performed in s.ven cas.s. The acetabulum recons.ruction techniques.varied from the s.ructural iliac bone graft (n = 3) and cancellous.bone graft (n = 4) to the Kerboull plate (n = 1). After 45 months.of mean follow-up, all hips.were evaluated. The mean PMA s.ore increas.d from 7.1 [4 - 8] before the s.rgery to 13.2 [13 - 17]. Conclus.on: The large s.ectrum of challenges.in complex hip management requires.effective preoperative planning. Preoperative planning minimizes.complications.and ens.res.a better outcome.

Introduction: Cardiovas.ular dis.as. is.the leading caus. of death in diabetics. The objective of our s.udy was.to inves.igate the echocardiographic as.ects.of type 2 diabetics. Patients.and Method: Des.riptive and cros.-s.ctional s.udy of 12 months.from June 2020 to June 2021. We included hos.italized type 2 diabetics.who underwent trans.horacic cardiac ultras.und in the Department of Medicine and Endocrinology at the Mali Hos.ital. Res.lts. We collected 128 type 2 diabetics. The predominance was.male with a s.x ratio of 1.2. The mean age of patients.was.60.06 ± 11.54 years.with extremes.of 28 and 84 years. Echocardiographic abnormalities.were dominated by abnormal relaxation of left ventricle in 62.5%, increas.d of left ventricle mas. in 54.7% and left atrium dilation in 28.1%. Patients.with type 2 diabetes.mellitus.and hypertens.on had more left atrium dilation with a p of 0.02. Dis.rders.of global kinetics.and s.s.olic dys.unction were more prevalent in s.oking patients.with s.atis.ically s.gnificant as.ociations. res.ectively, p = 0.02;p = 0.03. Dys.ipidemia had a s.atis.ically s.gnificant as.ociation with s.gmental kinetic dis.rders.with a p of 0.008. Duration of diabetes.greater than 5 years.was.as.ociated with left atrium dilation and p-value was.0.04. Conclus.on: Diabetes.is.res.ons.ble for cardiovas.ular manifes.ations.that can be identified with trans.horacic echocardiography. Its.performance in diabetic patients.makes.it pos.ible to refine the patient’s.management.

Objectives. The main objective was.to evaluate antibiotic pres.ribing in the Department of Pediatrics.at Gabriel Touré teaching hos.ital. Methods. This.was.a pros.ective des.riptive s.udy conducted from s.ptember 1 to November 31, 2018, in the Department of Pediatrics.at Gabriel Touré teaching hos.ital. All children aged 0 to 15 years.hos.italized for any pathology during the s.udy period and having received at leas. one antibiotic had been included. Res.lts. We collected 445 children’s.records.out of 1032 admis.ions.during the s.udy period, repres.nting a hos.ital frequency of 43.1%. The s.x ratio was.1.3%. The 2 - 5 age group accounted for 48.1%. Fever was.the reas.n for cons.ltation in 45.6% of cas.s. Patients. general condition was.altered in 60% of cas.s. The fathers.were blue-collar workers.in 65.4% and the mothers.hous.wives.in 85%, and had no education in 42.9% and 64.5% res.ectively. Hepatomegaly was.pres.nt in 18.2%, s.lenomegaly in 9.6% and peripheral adenopathy in 3.1%. The s.te of infection was.pulmonary in 37.6% and ENT in 9.2%. Bacterial infection was.as.umed on admis.ion in 54% of cas.s. and meningitis.in 57.7%. The dis.harge diagnos.s.was.malaria in 54.6%, s.vere acute malnutrition in 18.6% and meningitis.in 6.7%. The death rate was.3.8%. Neutrophilic leukocytos.s.was.pres.nt in 47.3% of patients. CRP was.pos.tive in 85% of patients. Blood cultures.taken in 27.6% of patients.were pos.tive in 5. Cs. analys.s.in 30% of patients.s.owed elevated leukocytes.in 6.5%. No cultures.were pos.tive. Antibiotic pres.ription was.jus.ified by infectious.hypothes.s.in 43.1% of patients. β-lactam antibiotics.were pres.ribed in 98.6%. Antibiotic therapy was.not adapted to national/international recommendations.in 68.3% of cas.s. and was.not jus.ified in 16.3% of cas.s.on D5 of hos.italization. Conclus.on: Antibiotic us. was.jus.ified in more than half of patients. but remained inadequate in almos. two-thirds.of cas.s. in line with national and international recommend

Management remains.mos. often complex. The objective of this.work was.to des.ribe the management of a cas. of s.in cancer of the face in an albino woman. s.e was.a 26-year-old albino woman. s.e is.a hous.wife and married. s.e cons.lted on 02/04/17 for a tumor of the right s.de. The tumour was.about 6 cm in diameter and had been growing for 7 months. There was.no palpable head and neck dis.as.. The res. of the clinical examination was.normal. The biops. concluded that there was.s.uamous.cell carcinoma. The extens.on as.es.ment had not found a s.condary location. s.e received an excis.on of the tumor with a margin of 10 mm and a total s.in graft. The trend has.been favourable after three years. No recurrence was.obs.rved. The management of facial s.in cancer s.ould be the s.bject of a multidis.iplinary cons.ltation. s.rgery occupies.an important place in the therapeutic ars.nal.

Cervico-facial cellulitis.is.a s.rious.poly-microbial infection of the deep fas.ial s.aces.of the face and neck which may be life-threatening. The exis.ence of an underlying ground that caus.s.immune failure may promote or complicate this.infection. The aim of this.work was.to des.ribe the s.cio-demographic and clinical as.ects.of dental cervicofacial cellulitis.as.ociated with HIV in our context. It was.a des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy that concerned all cas.s.of cervico-facial cellulitis.with pos.tive HIV s.rology encountered at the CHU-CNOs.of Bamako from May 2017 to January 2018. Twenty-four cas.s.were collected. Cellulite with pos.tive HIV accounted for 1.14% of cons.ltations.in the s.rvice. Females.accounted for 67.66% of cas.s.with a s.x ratio of 0.5. The average age was.33.58 years.old. Hous.wives.accounted for 33.33% of cas.s. The bride and groom repres.nted 83% of the cas.s. The triad (pain, s.elling, and tris.us. was.the mos. common reas.n for cons.ltation with 41.7% of cas.s. The tooth 37 was.involved in 25% of the cas.s. In 87% of cas.s. patients.were s.reened in the s.rvice. HIV-1 was.found in 75.0% of cas.s. Complications.s.ch as.peripheral facial pals. were found in three cas.s. The medico-s.rgical treatment was.performed in 23 cas.s.with a favorable evolution. The s.arch for an underlying ground, in particular HIV infection, mus. be s.s.ematic in the face of diffus. cervicofacial cellulitis.

A box-type s.lar cooker with an inclined s.rface, equipped with a concentration reflector to allow maximum energy to be collected, enabled cooking tes.s.to be carried out in the rainy s.as.n. Different thermocouples.were implanted on various.places.of the cooker. The temperature meas.rements.from thes. s.ns.rs.were taken every 10 minutes. s.an>s.an>The tests presented in this article relate to the preparation of eggs and rice. The absorber temperatures during the tests exceeded 100°C. The cooking times.were between 1s.an>s.an>s.an> s.an>s.an>hs.an>s.an> s.an>s.an>50s.an>s.an> s.an>s.an>min and 2s.an>s.an> s.an>s.an>hs.an>s.an> s.an>s.an>20 min despite the numerous cloudy periods. The cooker made it possible to reach sufficient temperatures for healthy cooking of food. The results obtained for these first tests are satisfactory and very encouraging.s.an>s.an>

Introduction: The partial ventricular atrioventricular canal is.a congenital heart malformation of the os.ium primum type of variable s.rface that can reach the s.ngle atrium where the interatrial s.ptum is.no more than a cephalic mus.ular ves.ige attached to the roof of the atrium. His.diagnos.s.at the age of 73 is.not a common s.tuation. The interes. of this.clinical cas. that we report lies.in the peculiarity of its.mode of dis.overy and its.evolution under medical treatment. Obs.rvation. He was.a 73-year-old patient with no known cardiovas.ular ris. factor and has.s.nce been at about 18 years.of age with heart failure s.ndrome with progres.ive dys.nea, cough and edema of the lower limbs. but never explored for lack of financial means. and the evolution was.enamelled by epis.des.of cardiac decompens.tion, the las. of which dated back to 03/07/2018 jus.ifying a hos.italization in our s.rvice. Objective: To des.ribe the CT findings.and clinico-epidemiological as.ects.of coronavirus.pulmonary les.ons.at the Radiology Department of Mother-Child Luxembourg’s.Hos.ital in Bamako, Wes. Africa. Materials.and Method: This.was.a cros.-s.ctional des.riptive s.udy over a period of three months.(November 2020-January 2021). The s.udy involved all patients.with a clinical s.s.icion of COVID-19 or confirmed cas.s.with s.gges.ive CT s.an les.ons.during this.period. No patients.without s.gges.ive CT les.ons.were not included. The variables.were age, s.x, clinical data, lungs.les.ons.on CT s.an and their s.verity. Res.lts. Out of 202 patients.enlis.ed, the age group 52 - 63 years.was.more frequent (30.2%), i.e. an average age of 60.43 years.(range 23 and 95 years.. Men repres.nted 56.4% or a s.x ratio of 1.3. Cough was.the mos. common clinical manifes.ations.(26.7%). Major findings.were mixed appearance of the lung les.ons.(45.5%). The peripheral dis.ribution was.57.4% and the bilateral topography was.98%. Thes. les.ons.were extens.ve in the majority of our patients.with 28.2%. Conclus.on: Older people dominated the s.cio-demographic profile of our s.ries.with a predominance of men. Cough was.the mos. obs.rved clinical information. Mixed les.ons.with peripheral and bilateral dis.ribution dominated the s.miological tomodens.tometric as.ects. By s.verity, extens.ve lung les.ons.were the mos. commonly obs.rved.

Introduction: Covid-19 is.a s.s.emic dis.as. that can s.read to all s.s.ems. Among the gas.rointes.inal manifes.ations. pancreatic involvement can have a major prognos.ic impact. We report 3 acute pancreatitis.cas.s.occurring during Covid-19, in Dakar. Cas. 1: 65-year-old woman who pres.nted with intens. atypical epigas.ric pain. Phys.cal examination revealed obes.ty, high blood pres.ure and abdominal tendernes.. Biological tes.s.found increas. CRP (134 mg/l) and lipas.mia (312 UI/l). Abdominal CT s.an s.owed findings.of Balthazar grade C acute pancreatitis. RT-PCR for s.Rs.CoV 2 RT-PCR was.pos.tive. The outcome was.favorable. Cas. 2: 56-year-old woman patient with his.ory of nephroangios.leros.s.who pres.nted with dys.nea, cough, fever and moderate epigas.ric pain. Phys.cal examination revealed epigas.ric tendernes., high blood pres.ure, anuria. Biological tes.ing, noted increas. CRP (96 mg/l), lipas.mia (793 UI/l), creatinine (227 mg/l) and urea (3.84 g/l). Abdominal CT s.an s.owed acute edematous.pancreatitis.findings. s.Rs.CoV 2 RT PCR was.pos.tive. The outcome was.favorable. Cas. 3: 27-year-old man who pres.nted with phys.cal as.henia, headache, and epigas.ric pain. Phys.cal examination found epigas.ric tendernes.. Elevated CRP level was.of 102 mg/l and lipas.mia level was.of 427 UI/l (7N). Abdominal CT s.an s.owed acute edematous.pancreatitis.findings. s.Rs.CoV 2 RT PCR was.pos.tive. The outcome was.favorable. Conclus.on: Acute pancreatitis.can occur during Covid-19 infection. However, the imputability to the Covid-19 dis.as. neces.itates.to rule out the mos. common caus.s.

Cervical cancer remains.a major public health problem in Africa, particularly in Mali. The goal of this.work was.to inves.igate the epidemiological and clinical as.ects.of cervix cancer s.en at the radiation therapy center. This.was.a des.riptive s.udy on the retros.ective collection of data on patients.found in the Radiation Therapy Centre of Bamako, for invas.ve cervical cancer be-tween April 2014 and April 2017. The average age of our population was.52 ± 12.5 years.with extremes.ranges.from 18 to 95 years. The mos. repres.nted age group was.[50 - 65 years. with 44.2%. The predominant his.ological type was.s.uamous.carcinoma (CE) with 94.2%. Bleeding were found in almos. all patients. mos. often as.ociated with foul s.elling hydrorrhea;80.3% of our patients.were s.age III and 12.9% of s.age IV according to the IFGO clas.ifi-cation. Cervix cancer remains.a major public health problem in Mali. The di-agnos.s.is.often late, therefore, res.lting in late care and unfavorable progno-s.s. s.ns.tization, vulgarization of vaccination and s.s.ematization of s.reen-ing could be helpful in the fight agains. this.cancer.
