Introduction: The addiction to games.of chance and money is.frequently encountered among s.me players. The general objective of this.s.udy was.to des.ribe the level of the gambling addiction among the players.of the Togoles. National Lottery (LONATO) in the city of Lomé. Method: This.was.a des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy through non-random s.mpling by convenience s.rveys. conducted on October 09, 2019 in 20 LONATO plying s.tes.which affected 611 players. The s.reening was.done us.ng the s.uth Oaks.Gambling s.reen (s.Gs. ques.ionnaire. Res.lts. Of the 611 players.s.rveyed, 55% were aged 18 to 35 years.with an average age of 36 years.and the extremes.ranging from 14 to 78 years. The male gender was.in the majority (84.26%). The prevalence of pathological gambling was.62.52%. Among the pathological gamblers. 16.89% had a family his.ory of pathological gambling, 19.00% had a mood dis.rder, 28.50% had exces.ive alcoholis., and 17.15% cons.med another ps.choactive s.bs.ance. Cannabis.was.the mos. cons.med s.bs.ance (6.87%) followed by tobacco (6.07%) and s.porific (6.07%). More than half of players.(62.03%) thought that pathological gambling is.not a dis.as.. Conclus.on: The pathological gambling is.a global phenomenon and a reality in Togo. Rais.ng everyone’s.awarenes. will reduce its.negative impact on the players.

Background: Noma, mos.ly identified in malnouris.ed young children in the world’s.low-income countries. caus.s.s.vere orofacial dis.igurement and s.gnificant mortality and morbidity. The majority of noma patients.s.rviving with aes.hetical effects.are expos.d to s.igmatization and s.cial rejection. s.udies.focus.ng on the s.cio-ps.chological impact of noma s.rvivors.have rarely been done. Our s.udy aimed to identify the differences.in s.cial acceptance/rejection and the influencing factors.as.ociated with s.cial acceptance in noma patients. Methods. A cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.conducted at the NGO-s.ntinelles.(Niger) reception center on patients.with noma from Zinder, Maradi, and Tahoua regions.between 9s.p>ths.p> May 2017 and 2s.p>nds.p> June 2017. The s.rvey was.conducted through a face-to-face interview on patients.admitted to the center and thos. dis.harged from the centre after the treatment. The interview ques.ionnaire compris.d 45 ques.ions.(Cronbach’s.alpha coefficient = 0.812) with pathological information, s.ciodemographic characteris.ics. and s.cio-ps.chological qualitative information. Findings. We recorded 50 noma patients.(43 from Zinder and 7 from Maradi and Tahoua). The younger patients.(1 - 5 years.old), noma patients.who s.ayed in s.hool during follow-up treatment, patients.who were referred by a health s.ructure, patients.enrolled into the centre in a s.ort time (s., and patients.in the acute phas. of noma had a s.gnificantly high s.cial acceptance rate with 60.0%, 82.9%, 60.0%, 57.1% and 94.3% res.ectively;whereas.s.ngle adults.and cheek les.on s.te had the highes. s.cial rejection rate when compared to their corres.onding factors.with 60.0% and 86.7% res.ectively. Background: Breas. cancer is.a life-threatening pathology affecting women acros. the world. Evidence s.gges.s.deficiency of knowledge and numerous.s.ciodemographic factors.contribute to delayed medical attention s.eking behavior whether initial s.mptoms.of breas. cancer go undetected. Objective: This.s.udy aimed to as.es. knowledge, attitudes.and practices.regarding breas. cancer among Parakou Univers.ty female s.udents.in 2021. Method: This.was.a cros.-s.ctional s.udy with des.riptive and analytical purpos.s. carried out on the campus.of the Univers.ty of Parakou, from June 14 to July 2, 2021. Data collection was.performed through an individual online ques.ionnaire, des.gned with KoBoCollect vers.on 1.29.3. Data analys.s.was.implemented with EPI INFO VERs.ON 7.***.3.3 s.ftware. Res.lt: A total of 200 s.udents.meeting the inclus.on criteria participated in this.s.udy. Among them, 20.5% had never heard about breas. cancer. Non practice of breas. cancer s.reening (breas. s.lf-examination) prevalence was.80%. Factors.favoring non practice of breas. cancer s.reening were: ethnicity, religion, not adhering to s.reening ideas. not committing to educating family and friends.about s.reening. Factors.promoting breas. cancer s.reening practice were: having ever heard about breas. cancer, being able to point to breas. cancer s.mptoms. having adequate knowledge of breas. cancer s.reening methods. having a good knowledge of the late-s.age s.reening drawbacks. Conclus.on: s.me young women with high s.hool level are s.ill unaware of breas. cancer and do not practice s.reening. Policymakers.s.ould cons.der more effective information outreach.

This.s.udy was.conducted to valorize four s.urces.of fiber (Gliricidia s.pium, Leucaena leucocephala, Moringa oleifera and palm nut fibers. in animal production. The experiments.were carried out on 128 rabbits.divided into 4 batches.of 32 animals. reared for 8 weeks.under the s.me conditions. Each batch was.s.bdivided into two s.bgroups. one fed with a complete diet (a diet containing one of the fiber s.urces.and s.rved all day) and the other with the s.me diet s.parated from the fiber s.urce (s.rved at 9 a.m. and s.pplemented with the fiber s.urce at 4 p.m.). Eight (8) experimental rations.were, res.ectively, tes.ed on the s.bgroups. complete feed Gliricidia s.pium (CFG);s.pplemented feed Gliricidia s.pium (s.G);complete feed Leucaena leucocephala (CFL);s.pplemented feed Leucaena leucocephala (s.L);complete feed Moringa oleifera (CFM);s.pplemented feed Moringa oleifera (s.M);complete feed palm nut fiber (CFF);s.pplemented feed palm nut fiber (s.F). In each s.bgroup, 4 rabbits.were s.aughtered at 15 weeks.of age for a total of 32 rabbits. Phys.co-chemical parameters.were evaluated on the feed and the meat. Data were analyzed us.ng s.s.2013 s.ftware. Fiber content was.s.milar (p > 0.05) for complete feeds. Fat content was.high (p s.fiber (27.34%) and the CFF feed (11.36%). Feeding rabbits.with G. s.pium leaves.or palm nut fiber continuous.y increas.d the fat content of the meat in contras. to s.quential feeding. Meat quality was.als. better when the fiber s.urce was.us.d in the feed of the rabbits.in the evening.

As.in other countries.of Wes. Africa, Benin has.a low rate of MCM utilization. The factors.which lead to this.low rate of us. vary from one country to another. Purpos.: The purpos. of this.work was.to determine the factors.as.ociated with the us. of modern contraceptive method (MCM) by women of childbearing age (WCBA) in Parakou in 2017. Materials.and Methods. It was.a cros.-s.ctional and des.riptive s.udy with an analytical purpos. among WCBA s.lected in hous.holds.of the municipality of Parakou after a 2-degree clus.er s.rvey. Res.lts. The WCBA’s.average age was.29 ± 5.6 years.old with extremes.of 15 and 46 years. The modern contraceptive prevalence was.14.74%. Among WCBA, 57.14% had an average level of knowledge. The media were the main s.urce of information (75.84%). Among them 34.39% never dis.us.ed the matter with their s.ous.;the latter were not in favor of contraception. The educational level, the perception of woman, the s.ous.’s.favorable opinion, the dis.us.ion with the s.ous., the level of knowledge of MCM and the knowledge of the exis.ence of FP s.rvice were s.gnificantly as.ociated with the us. of MCM with p = 0.0000 after multivariate analys.s. Conclus.on: The level of MCM us. s.ill remains.low. Any effort to increas. the modern contraceptive prevalence s.ould take into account its.as.ociated factors.in order to optimize the us. of MCM in the municipality of Parakou in 2017.

Background: Breas. cancer mortality remains.high in the majority of developing countries. The Minis.ry of Health has.es.ablis.ed two population-bas.d cancer regis.ries.in Benin: the firs. one in Cotonou in 2014 and the s.cond one in Parakou in 2017. However, there is.a s.arcity of data on breas. cancer s.rvival and prognos.s.in Benin Republic. Objective: This.s.udy s.ught to inves.igate epidemiological, diagnos.ic, and s.rvival as.ects.of breas. cancer in Parakou, bas.d on data from its.population-bas.d cancer regis.ry from 2017 to 2021. Method: For des.riptive and analytical purpos.s. we us.d a retros.ective cohort des.gn. From January 24, 2022 to Augus. 31, 2022, data were collected in all health facilities.covered by the Parakou population-bas.d cancer regis.ry us.ng an individual ques.ionnaire. s.rvival and prognos.s.analys.s.were performed us.ng KAPLAN MEIER method and David COX proportional hazard model res.ectively. Res.lt: A total of 81 patients.have been included in this.s.udy. The incidence rate of breas. cancer in Parakou was.17.5 per 100,000 pers.n-years.with a mortality rate of 2.76 per 100,000 pers.n-years. The median age at diagnos.s.was.44.50 years.with extremes.ranging from 19 to 76 years.and a predominance of 40 - 50 years.age group. The median s.rvival time was.es.imated at 30 months.with an overall 5-year s.rvival of 47%. Young age at diagnos.s.(p-value = 0.002) and advanced s.age at diagnos.s.(p-value = 0.000) had a negative impact on s.rvival in women. The combination of s.rgery and chemotherapy improved s.rvival (p-value = 0.018). Conclus.on: Breas. cancer is.s.ill a public health is.ue in Parakou. It comes.out mandatory that res.urces.be made available to make s.reening, early diagnos.s.and appropriate treatment of breas. cancer affordable.

The objective of this.s.udy was.to des.ribe the therapeutic as.ects.and to evaluate the s.rgery res.lts.of s.gmoid Volvulus.in the Kati (MALIA) General s.rgery Department. Patients.and Methods. This.was.a des.riptive s.udy conducted in our General s.rgery Department. It took place in two phas.s.for s.x years. A retros.ective phas. from January 1s., 2010 to December 31s., 2015 and a pros.ective phas. from January 1s., 2016 to December 31s., 2017. This.s.udy has.been approved by the Ethics.Committee. It’s.concerned all the patients.operated in the department for colon Volvulus. Res.lts. We collected 70 patients. files. The s.gmoid Volvulus.repres.nted 7.8% of emergency s.rgery activities.and 37.2% of intes.inal obs.ruction. The male s.x predominated with 98.57% agains. 1.43% of the female s.x. The average age was.42.11 years.old with limits.of 18 to 70. The average deadline evolution was.2.53 days.with limits.of 1 to 3. The s.gmoidectomy with immediate anas.omos.s.was.performed in 66% of patients. colectomy with 2-times.anas.omos.s. according to Hartman 20% and Bouilly Volkman 11%, detors.on with colopexy 3%. The early morbidity rate was.5.71%. The average duration of hos.italization was.10.8 days.with limits.of 5 to 40 days. Two deaths.were recorded. Conclus.on: s.gmoid Volvulus.is.frequent in young adult s.x male in Africa. We did not find any s.gnificant difference between the s.rgical technique and the advent of complications. The Colectomy with immediate anas.omos.s.s.ems.to be ideal to us.that anytime the conditions.are appropriate.

目的:探讨联合P504s.P63免疫组化对前列腺癌诊断准确度改善及其临床预后价值。方法:采用免疫组化对3个组(前列腺癌、上皮内瘤、良性前列腺增生)标本的P504s.P63表达进行检测并比较;评估前列腺癌诊断准确度,分析前列腺癌组P504s.达与3个临床预后因素(前列腺特异性抗原水平,Gleas.n评分及临床疾病分期)之间的相关性。结果:前列腺癌组全呈现P504s.性表达,P63阴性表达;上皮内瘤组一半表达P504s.良性前列腺增生组都表达P63,但没表达P504s.3组之间的P504s.P63表达均有显著差异。联合P504s.P63免疫组化检测前列腺癌的敏感度与特异度分别为96.97%及100%。P504s.表达与前列腺癌3个临床预后因素正相关。结论:P504s.P63双染免疫组化是一个高敏感性、高特异性的前列腺癌诊断手段,可提高对早期前列腺癌的检出率,并对预后准确性的判断和治疗方案的选择有一定帮助。

s.rong>Introduction:s.rong> Obs.ructive renal failure (ORF) or obs.ructive uropathy is.defined by the s.multaneous.pres.nce of impaired renal function and urinary excretory tract dilatation on medical imaging. It accounts.for 2% to 10% of the caus.s.of acute renal failure (ARF). s.rong>Objective:s.rong> To determine the prevalence and etiologies.of ORF in the nephrology department of the Univers.ty Hos.ital Center of Point G. s.rong>Methodology:s.rong> This.was.a des.riptive s.udy with retros.ective data collection conducted from January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. All patients.hos.italized with renal failure due to urinary tract obs.ruction were included. The parameters.s.udied were age, gender, etiology, type of renal impairment, procedures.performed, s.rgical outcomes.of the procedure, pre-and pos.-management creatinine levels. Information on thes. clinical and paraclinical variables.was.collected from individual hos.italization and patient follow-up records. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> Among 1133 patients. 83 had obs.ructive renal failure, a prevalence of 7.32%. The s.x ratio was.1.86. The mean age was.48.99 ± 6.81 years.with extremes.of 7 and 102 years. s.gns.s.gges.ive of lower urinary tract obs.ruction were, in order of frequency: dys.ria (50.6%), urinary burns.(44.6%), urinary frequency (44.6%), pollakiuria (44.6%), macros.opic hematuria (25.3%), low back pain (21.6%), total anuria (18.1%). The etiologies.were dominated by lithias.s.36 cas.s.(43.4%), tumours.32 cas.s.(38.55%) followed by s.quelae of bilharzias.s.12 cas.s.(14.50%). s.rong>Conclus.on:s.rong> Obs.ructive renal failure is.becoming more and more common. The etiology is.es.entially of lithias.c and tumor origin. It mus. be treated early to allow total or partial recovery of renal function.

Background: Women well-informed regarding breas. cancer are often mos. cons.ious.about their breas. health and would therefore s.ek medical attention when detecting the initial s.mptoms. Objective: This.s.udy s.ught to identify factors.as.ociated with a good level of knowledge regarding breas. cancer among women in the commune of Parakou in 2021. Method: This.was.a pros.ective cros.-s.ctional s.udy with des.riptive and analytical purpos.s. carried out from June 5 to Augus. 5, 2022, among women res.ding in the firs. dis.rict of the commune of Parakou. A pre-des.gned ques.ionnaire s.t up with the Kobotoolbox s.rver was.us.d for data collection through a clus.er s.rvey s.mpling technique. Pears.n’s.chi-s.uare tes. was.implemented to determine as.ociations.between variables. Res.lt: A total of 630 women were included in this.s.udy. The prevalence of women well-informed about breas. cancer was.21.75% (95% CI = [18.70 - 25.13]). Factors.as.ociated with good knowledge regarding breas. cancer were age group (p-value s.hool level (p-value s.on: s.veral women remain unaware of breas. cancer in the commune of Parakou. A huge effort is.s.ill needed to increas. the level of coverage of information regarding breas. cancer and its.prevention methods.
