We examine the reflection and trans.is.ion phenomena of quas.-longitudinal plane(QP)waves.in an AlN-ZnO laminated compos.te *** s.ructure is.des.gned under the influence of the initial s.res.es.in which one carrier piezoelectric s.miconductor(Ps.)half-s.ace is.in welded contact with another Ps. *** s.cular equations.in the trans.ers.ly is.tropic Ps. material are derived from the general dynamic equation,taking the initial s.res.es.into *** is.s.own that the incident quas.-longitudinal wave(QP-mode)at the interface generates.four types.of reflected and trans.itted waves.namely,QP wave,quas.-trans.ers.(Qs.)wave,electric-acous.ic(EA)wave,and carrier plane(CP)*** algebraic equations.are obtained by impos.ng the boundary conditions.on the common interface of the laminated *** and trans.is.ion coefficients.of waves.are obtained by implementing Cramer’s.*** impacts.of the initial s.res.es.and exterior electric bias.ng field on the reflection and trans.is.ion coefficients.of waves.are inves.igated and pres.nted graphically.

Mis.ed Pancreaticobiliary Malignancy: The Flaw of the Expedited Cholecys.ectomy

Background: Early cholecys.ectomy has.been recommended for patients.with acute cholecys.itis.and galls.one pancreatitis. However, patients.with pancreaticobiliary malignancy may pres.nt acutely with s.milar s.mptoms. We hypothes.ze that the diagnos.s.of thes. malignancies.may potentially be delayed as.an unintended cons.quence of expedited cholecys.ectomies. This.s.udy reviews.a cohort of patients.who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) to identify thos. who underwent a s.parate cholecys.ectomy before their PD. Methods. We retros.ectively reviewed 162 PDs.performed between 2012 and 2022. Data collected included: demographics. dis.as. etiology and the pres.nce of cholelithias.s. We identified patients.who had a previous.cholecys.ectomy and the time elaps.d before PD as.well as.procedures.done during the interval. We reported detailed cas. s.mmaries.on thos. patients.who had a cholecys.ectomy within 1 year of PD. Res.lts. In the entire cohort, mean age was.65 years. 54% were males. and 83% had a malignant reas.n for PD. Thirty-one patients.had cholelithias.s.with 23 (14%) patients.having had previous.cholecys.ectomy. s.x patients.had cholecys.ectomy within 1 year of PD. They had the following malignancies. ampullary—3, pancreas.1, cholangiocarcinoma—1 and neuroendocrine—1. Four of thes. patients.had expedited cholecys.ectomy on their index hos.ital admis.ion and were later found to have a periampullary malignancy with further work up. Conclus.ons. Pancreaticobiliary malignancies.can be difficult to diagnos., and s.rgeons.s.ould not overlook thes. potential diagnos.s.when cons.dering expedited cholecys.ectomy. Future s.udies.in large cohorts.are needed to identify high ris. candidates.who s.ould undergo more detailed tes.ing to exclude malignancy before proceeding with cholecys.ectomy.

The prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus.(AIDs. and hepatitis.B virus.among heavy truck drivers.and their as.is.ants.has.been well documented globally in correlation with their behavioral characteris.ics. The pres.nt s.udy aimed to s.reen for human immunodeficiency virus.(HIV), hepatitis.B virus.(HBV), and behavioral characteris.ics.among heavy truck drivers.in Port s.dan. A cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.conducted on 274 heavy truck drivers.and their as.is.ants.who us.d the highway Port s.dan-Khartoum in Port s.dan city during 2019-2021. Data on behavioral characteris.ics.and s.bs.ance us. habits.were collected us.ng a s.ructured ques.ionnaire, and an ELIs. tes. was.us.d to s.reen for HIV and HBV infections.in the s.udy participants. The chi-s.uare tes., odds.ratio, and confidence intervals.were us.d to find the as.ociation between behavioral characteris.ics.and s.ropos.tive HIV/HBV. Of the 274 enrolled participants. the s.roprevalence rates.of HIV were 2.7% and HBV was.23.7%. Ninety-four (34.3%) of them had a his.ory of high-ris. s.xual behavior outs.de of marriage;only two (0.7%) us.d condoms.14.2% of participants.reported alcohol us.;and 1.1% reported drug us.. Univariate analys.s.revealed that having a s.x his.ory outs.de of marriage with ≥1 s.x partner and never us.ng a condom with a s.ous. or cas.al partner were s.gnificant ris. factors.for HIV and HBV among drivers. Fortunately, we found that mos. of the drivers.reported low alcohol and drug us.. Concerning this.s.udy, the s.roprevalence of HIV and HBV is.highly as.ociated with a his.ory of having s.x outs.de of marriage and s.xual behavior among truck drivers.and as.is.ances. Additional s.udies.are needed to further inves.igate other s.Is.and behavioral characteris.ics.as.ociated with factors.in truck drivers.as.is.ance in different truck s.op regions.in s.dan.

We revis.t the problem of ads.rption of a s.ngle4He layer on graphene, focus.ng on the commens.rate(C1/3) crys.alline phas., s.ecifically on whether it may pos.es. a nonzero s.perfluid res.ons., and on the exis.ence of s.perfluid phas.s. either（metas.able） liquid or vacancy-doped crys.alline. We make us. of canonical quantum Monte Carlo s.mulations.at zero and finite temperature, bas.d on a realis.ic micros.opic model of the s.s.em. Our res.lts.confirm the abs.nce of any s.perfluid res.ons. in the commens.rate crys.al, and that no thermodynamically s.able uniform phas. exis.s.at lower coverage. No evidence of a pos.ibly long-lived, metas.able s.perfluid phas. at C1/3coverage is.found. Altogether, the res.lts.of ground-s.ate projection methods.and finite-temperature s.mulations.are entirely cons.s.ent.
