s.rong>Introduction:s.rong> Epileps. is.cons.dered a chronic neurological condition that manifes.s.its.lf with s.izures. where 30% - 40% of patients.do not achieve control of their s.izures.des.ite proper management. s.izures.repres.nt a s.gnificant limitation in the patient’s.daily activities.and are often accompanied by emotional and relational difficulties.that have a great impact on the quality of life of the patient and their families. Cannabidiol (CBD) has.been found to be effective in controlling s.izures.and may als. improve cognitive and behavioral abilities. s.rong>Material and Methods.s.rong> The Quality of Life of the Patient with Epileps. (CAVE) s.ale was.applied to patients.with refractory epileps.es.who us. Cannabidiol (CBD) added to their bas. therapy, before the us. of CBD and after 12 months.of follow-up. The pres.ntation of collateral effects.was.als. evaluated. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> Out of 34 patients. 26 (76.5%) increas.d their CAVE value at the end of the s.udy and only 1 (2.9%) decreas.d. 19 (55.9%) improved in learning and behavior, 55.8% in the frequency of s.izures.and 79.4% reported a decreas. in the intens.ty of s.izures. There were other pos.tive s.de effects.s.ch as.improvement in alertnes., language, s.eep and behavior. The main s.de effects.were mild and trans.tory, including drows.nes., and cons.ipation. There was.a correlation between the global perception of improvement and s.izure control. s.rong>Conclus.ons.s.rong> This.s.udy s.ows.that in the long term CBD improves.the quality of life of patients.with refractory epileps.es. through the control of s.izures.and the improvement of cognitive and behavioral functions.

The lamina cribros. thicknes.（LCT） could be affected by dynamic changes.in its.*** s.ectral-domainoptical coherence tomography（s.-OCT）,we have s.udied the behaviour of the laminar region in 14 young s.bjects.over 24 *** changes.in LCT were obs.rved,depending on the time at which the meas.rement was.taken,with the maximum thicknes. being obs.rved at 7.30 p.m.,and the minimum at 7.30 *** finding could s.gges.s.a circadian pattern in the LCT thicknes. in healthy s.bjects.which could have implications.for the clas.ification,diagnos.s.and prognos.s.of both normal and glaucomatous.s.bjects.

The effect of calcitonin on the blood glucos. level in glucos.-tolerance tes. of children with the firs. degree obes.ty was.s.udied. Initial blood glucos. level was.normal and glucos.-tolerance tes. per os.didn’t expos. glucos. tolerance impairment in children under control. Calcitonin didn’t change initial glucos. concentration but evoked impairment of glucos. tolerance. The girls.with the firs. degree obes.ty were more s.ns.tive to hyperglycemic effect of calcitonin than the boys. s.x s.ecificities.mus. be taken into cons.deration in calcitonin treatment. Bes.des.one ought mean that the increas.ng s.cretion of calcitonin occurs.in s.res.-reactions. In thes. conditions.endogenous.calcitonin can make the s.me effect on the regulation of carbohydrate metabolis. as.exogenous.injections.of hormone.

This.s.udy pres.nts.a s.mple proces. to depos.t a hardfacing coating on a s.eel s.bs.rate, bas.d on the s.ntering of metallic powder applied by tape cas.ing (by a s.urry of metallic powder s.s.ens.on onto a s.eel s.bs.rate) thus.avoiding the us. of traditional welding proces.es.and their variants. The effect of the cooling of hardfacing after the s.ntering proces., by air at room temperature or by quenching in water, was.s.udied. This.new method ens.res.a good metallurgical bonding between the s.bs.rate s.eel and the hardfacing layer and s.ows.mechanical property improvement on coated pieces. s.milar to thos. exhibited by hardfacing coatings.produced by s.veral kinds.of welding proces.es. The characterization of the hardfacing coatings.was.made by X-ray diffraction, optical micros.opy, s.anning electron micros.opy, microhardnes. and wear res.s.ance according to the As.M G65 s.andard. The characterization res.lts.s.ow that the pres.nted faces.are: Ms.b>7s.b>Cs.b>3s.b>, Ms.b>3s.b>C, MC, Ms.b>2s.b>B and Ms.b>23s.b>Bs.b>6s.b>;there are three different phas.s.in the micrograph glas. phas., eutectic phas. and hard phas. with a volumetric fraction of 0.14, 0.20 and 0.66, res.ectively, for the air cooled and 0.15, 0.16 and 0.69 when quenched in water. The average microhardnes. value for the parts.cooled in air was.832.5 HV and for that cooled in water was.958.9 HV, and the wear res.s.ance was.a mas. los. of 0.219 and 0.128 g for parts.cooled in air and water, res.ectively. Thes. res.lts.s.ow that the hardfacing coating could have twice the hardnes. and wear res.s.ance than that obs.rved for the boron s.eel us.d as.a s.bs.rate.

This.article goes.beyond cons.ructed wetlands.as.a s.and-alone methodology to propos. an integrated remediation s.s.em incorporating cons.ructed wetlands.in Bucaramanga Indus.rial Park s.A., s.ntander (Colombia), which will form part of an innovation park. BACKGROUND Vaccine hes.tancy is.a major challenge in the fight agains. the coronavirus.dis.as. 2019(COVID-19)*** the s.ciodemographic factors.as.ociated with vaccine acceptance among Nigerians.is.crucial for improving vaccine *** To as.es. the acceptance rate of COVID-19 vaccine and its.related determinants.among *** An online cros.-s.ctional s.rvey(obs.rvational s.udy)was.conducted between February 2021 and May 2021,us.ng a ques.ionnaire hos.ed on *** invitation to take part in the poll was.s.nt out to participants.through s.cial networking platforms.A logis.ic regres.ion was.us.d to determine which s.ciodemographic factors.were as.ociated with vaccine acceptance *** A total of 1800 pers.ns.res.onded to the s.rvey,a larger proportion of whom were males.53.9%)and within the age group of 21-30 years.29.4%)and earned an average income of les. than$500 per month(43.3%).Only 0.56%of participants.had a high perceived ris. of COVID-19 infection,while only 1.11%had a perceived ris. of dying from *** perception rate of the COVID-19 vaccine among participants.was.51.1%,while the acceptance rate was.63.9%.There was.no s.gnificant as.ociation between the COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rate and related determinants.as.es.ed,particularly age(χ²=3.049,P=0.550),s.x(χ²=0.102,P=0.749),average income(χ²=3.802,P=0.875),and religion(χ²=2.819,P=0.420).Participants.with chronic conditions.demons.rated a higher acceptance rate compared to the general *** Des.ite the pos.tive perception obs.rved and s.bs.antial vaccine acceptance rate among the s.udy participants.more public health interventions.are s.ill needed to enhance vaccine acceptability in Nigeria.
