based on data from 10-year field experiments on residue/fertilizer management in the dryland farming region of northern China, Century model was used to simulate the site-specific ecosystem dynamics through adjustment of the model＇s parameters, and the applicability of the model to propose soil organic carbon （sOC） management temporally and spatially, in cases such as of tillage/residue/fertilization management options, was identified v/a scenario *** between simulations and actual measurements were in close agreement when appropriate applications of stover,manure and inorganic fertilizer were combined. simulations of extreme C/N ratios with added organic materials tended to underestimate the measured effects. scenarios of changed tillage methods, residue practices and fertilization options showed potential to maintain and enhance sOC in the long run, while increasing inorganic N slowed down the sOC turnover rate but did not create a net C sink without any organic C input. The Century model simulation showed a good relationship between annual C inputs to the soil and the rate of C sequestration in the top 20 cm layer and provided quantitative estimations of changes in parameters crucial for sustainable land use and management. Conservation tillage practices for sustainable land use should be integrated with residue management and appreciable organic and inorganic fertilizer application, adapted according to the local residue resource, soil fertility and production conditions. At least 50% residue return into the soil was needed annually for maintenance of sOC balance, and manure amendment was important for enhancement of sOC in small crop-livestock systems in which crop residue land application was limited.

The constitutively-expressed cyclooxygenase 1（COX-1） and the inducible COX-2 are both involved in the conversion of arachidonic acid（AA） to prostaglandins（PGs）.However,the functional roles of COX-1 at the cellular level remain *** hypothesized that by comparing differential gene expression and eicosanoid metabolism in lung fibroblasts from wild-type（WT） mice and COX-2^（-/-） or COX-1^（-/-） mice may help address the functional roles of COX-1 in inflammation and other cellular *** to WT,the number of specifically-induced transcripts were altered descendingly as follows：COX-2^（-/-）〉 COX-1^（-/-）〉 WT ＋ IL-1β.COX-1^（-/-） or COX-2^（-/-） cells shared about 50%of the induced transcripts with WT cells treated with IL-1β,*** interactive ＂anti-inflammatory,proinflammatory,and redox-activated＂ signature in the protein-protein interactome map was observed in COX-2^（-/-） *** augmented COX-1mRNA（in COX-2^（-/-） cells） was associated with the upregulation of mRNAs for glutathione s-transferase（GsT）,superoxide dismutase（sOD）,NAD（P）H dehydrogenase quinone 1（NQO1）,aryl hydrocarbon receptor（AhR）,peroxiredoxin,phospholipase,prostacyclin synthase,and prostaglandin E synthase,resulting in a significant increase in the levels of PGE2,PGD2,leukotriene b4（LTb4）,PGF（1α）,thromboxane b2（TXb2）,and PGF（2α）.The COX-1 plays a dominant role in shifting AA toward the LTb4 pathway and anti-inflammatory *** to WT,the upregulated COX-1 mRNA in COX-2^（-/-） cells generated an ＂eicosanoid storm＂.The genomic characteristics of COX-2^（-/-） is similar to that of proinflammatory cells as observed in IL-1β induced WT ***-1^（-/-） and COX-2^（-/-） cells exhibited compensation of various eicosanoids at the genomic and metabolic levels.

We propose and demonstrate a Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser （EDFL） using an erbium-doped zirconia-alumina silica glass-based fiber （Zr-EDF） as a saturable absorber. As a 16-cm-long Zr-EDF is incorporated into a ring EDFL cavity, a stable Q-switching pulse train operating at 1565？nm wavelength is successfully obtained. The repetition rate is tunable from 33.97？kHz to 71.23？kHz by increasing the pump power from the threshold of 26？mW to the maximum of 74？mW. The highest pulse energy of 26.67？nJ is obtained at the maximum pump power.

Densities, ρ, ultrasonic speeds, u , viscosities, η , and refractive indices, n , of pure benzene, benzyl alcohol (bA), benzonitrile (bN), benzoyl chloride (bC), chlorobenzene (Cb) and their thirty six binary mixtures, with benzene as common component, were measured at 303.15 K over the entire mole fraction range. From these experimental data the values of deviations in ultrasonic speed, Δ u , isentropic compressibility, Δk s , excess acoustic impedance, Z E , deviation in viscosity, Δη, and excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow, G *E , and partial molar isentropic compressibility, of bA, bN, bC and Cb in benzene were computed. The variation of these derived functions with composition of the mixtures suggested the increased cohesion (molecular order) in the solution and that interaction (A‐b)>(A‐A) or (b‐b). Moreover, theoretical prediction of ultrasonic speed, viscosity and refractive index of all the four binary mixtures was made on the basis of empirical and semi‐empirical relations by using the experimental values of the pure components. Comparison of theoretical results with the experimental values was made in order to assess the suitability of these relations in reproducing the experimental values of u , η and n . Also, molecular radii of pure liquids and the average molecular radii of binary mixtures were evaluated using the corresponding refractive indices of pure liquids and binary mixtures. The average molecular radii of binary mixtures were found to be additive with respect to mole fraction of the pure component.

AIM： To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 （COX-2） and epithelial growth factor receptor （EGFR） throughout the progression of barrett＇s esophagus （bE）. METHODs： COX-2 and EGFR protein expressions were detected by using immunohistochemical method. A detailed cytomorphological changes were determined. Areas of COX-2 and EGFR expression were quantified by using computer Imaging system. REsULTs： The expressions of both COX-2 and EGFR increased along with the progression from bE to esophagus adenocarcinoma （EAC）. A positive correlation was found between COX-2 expression and EGFR expression. CONCLUsION： COX-2 and EGFR may be cooperative in the stepwise progression from bE to EAC, thereby leading to carcinogenesis.

Regulatory T cells(Tregs)constitute a subset of T cells that play a protective role by suppressing inflammation[1].We previously documented that the Treg immu-nomodulatory mechanisms are compromised in AD patients[2],resulting in an activation of peripheral monocytes,associated with upregulation of inflamma-tory mediators[3].Preclinical studies have suggested variable effects of Treg modification on the neurode-generative *** some studies propose that the Treg population might obstruct a selective gateway for immune cell trafficking to the CNs,thereby compromis-ing reparative immune responses[4,5],an increasing number of preclinical studies,including ours,indicate that systemic Treg expansion through interleukine-2(IL-2)administration or ex vivo expanded Treg administra-tion effectively modulates neuroinflammation and allevi-ates AD pathology[6,7].IL-2,originally described as the main T-cell growth factor,has been used in standard high doses for activation of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells[8].
