The choice of a type of combustion technology to be used for heat or power generation depends on economic,technical,operational and fuel availability *** benefits associated with the evolving market driven by the fluidised bed combustion(FBC)technology cannot be overlooked especially when gauged at 65 GWth of worldwide installed capacity alongside added benefits of handling fuel variation,low pollutant emissions and high combustion *** or biomass waste will continue to have a vital role to play in the future FBC technology-based power *** often contains high levels of inorganic species that can form sticky agglomerates posing a significant risk to boiler operation resulting in unscheduled *** added complexity of the behaviour of the fuel and bed material mix highlights the requirement for simulation models to identify agglomeration to help improve the overall performance and reliability of FBC *** resolve this problem,this research devised a simulation strategy for the detection of agglomeration using the Eulerian–Eulerian *** developed modelling strategy is validated with the experimental data available in literature for two-dimensional simplified geometry of a pilot-scale fluidised bed *** model results were found promising and robust to predict bed defluidisation times and other parameters consistent with the experimental data.

Revalorization of CO2 for methanol production via ZnO promoted carbon nanofibers based Cu-ZrO2 catalytic hydrogenation

A series of novel carbon nanofibers(CNFs)based Cu-ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized by deposition precipitation *** investigate the influence of promoter,catalysts were loaded with 1,2,3 and 4 wt%ZnO and characterized by ICP-OEs,HRTEM,BET,N2O chemisorption,TPR,XPs and CO2-TPD *** results revealed that physicochemical properties of the catalysts were strongly influenced by incorporation of ZnO to the parent *** surface area(sCu)and dispersion(DCu)were slightly decreased by incorporation of ZnO ***,sCuand DCuwere remarkably decreased when ZnO content was exceeded beyond 3 wt%.The catalytic performance was evaluated by using autoclave slurry reactor at a pressure and temperature of 30 bar and 180℃,*** promotion of CuZrO2/CNFs catalyst with 3 wt%of ZnO enhanced methanol synthesis rate from 32 to 45 g kg^-1 h^-***,with the ZnO promotion the selectivity to methanol was enhanced to 92%compared to 78%of the un-promoted Cu-ZrO2/CNFs catalyst at the expense of a lowered CO2 *** addition,the catalytic activity of this novel catalyst system for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol was compared with the recent literature data.

Bioactive compounds in banana fruits and their health benefits

Banana is an edible fruit and is herbaceous flowering plant belonging to the genus Musa and the family *** is also eaten as cooked vegetable(and is then called plantains).All the edible banana fruits are seedless(parthenocarpic)and belong to two main species,Musa acuminata Colla and Musa balbisiana *** hybrid from these two species Musa x paradisiaca *** also available *** banana is native to Indomalaya and Australia,Papua New Guinea was the first to domesticate this *** has now spread to almost 135 countries around the *** per 2016 data,nearly 28 per cent of the total world’s banana production comes from India and *** group banana,being the main export item from the banana-exporting countries,usually refers to soft,sweet,and dessert banana in the Western countries,but the plantain bananas have firm,starchy fruit which is suitable for cooking as a *** is known to be rich not only in carbohydrates,dietary fibres,certain vitamins and minerals,but is also rich in many health-promoting bioactive *** composition including various bioactives and their health contributions has been reviewed in this paper.

von Willebrand factor A(vWA)genes are well characterized in humans except for few BONZAI genes,but the vWA genes are least explored in *** the novelty and vital role of vWA genes,this study aimed at characterization of vWA superfamily in *** genome was found to have 40 vWA genes distributed across all the 12 chromosomes,and 20 of the 40 vWA genes were unique while the remaining shared large fragment similarities with each other,indicating gene *** addition to vWA domain,vWA proteins possess other different motifs or domains,such as ubiquitin interacting motif in protein degradation pathway,and RING finger in protein-protein *** analysis of vWA genes in available expression data suggested that they probably function in biotic and abiotic stress responses including hormonal response and *** frequency of transposon elements in the entire 3K rice germplasm was negligible except for 9 vWA genes,indicating the importance of these genes in *** and functional diversities showed that the vWA genes in a blast-resistant rice variety Tetep had huge variations compared to blast-susceptible rice varieties HP2216 and ***-PCR analysis of vWA genes in Magnaporthe oryzae infected rice tissues indicated OsvWA9,OsvWA36,OsvWA37 and OsvWA18 as the optimal candidate genes for disease *** is the first attempt to characterize vWA gene family in plant species.

The link between chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and a subset of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas (B-NHL) is strongly supported by epidemiological *** demonstrating complete regression of lymphoma after antiviral treatments suggests possible chronic antigenic stimulation for the origin of B-NHL and provides evidence for a virus-mediated lymphomagenesis.B-NHL is a heterogeneous group of lymphomas with varied clinical presentation and may be indolent or *** optimal management of HCV related B-NHL is not *** treatment may be sufficient for low-grade lymphomas,but chemotherapy is necessary in patients with high grade *** (IFN)-based antiviral treatment regimens for HCV infection are limited by poor tolerance and suboptimal antiviral *** approved novel direct acting antiviral (DAA) drugs are highly effective and *** has opened a new era for the treatment of HCV related B-NHL alone or in conjunction with *** of HCV associated B-NHL should be performed in an interdisciplinary approach in close consultation with hematologist and *** this review,we summarize data regarding clinical features and epidemiology of B-NHL and discuss novel therapeutic approaches,including DAAs,that may prove to be effective in the treatment of HCV associated lymphomas.

Lumbar spinal stenosis is caused by the compression of the nerve root or cauda equina nerve by stenosis of the lumbar spinal canal or intervertebral foramen,and is manifested as chronic low back and leg *** Tongdu(DLTD)tablets can relieve chronic pain caused by lumbar spinal stenosis,but the molecular mechanism remains largely *** this study,the potential molecular mechanism of DLTD tablets in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis was first predicted by the network pharmacology *** showed that DLTD functions in regulating anti-oxidative,apoptosis,and inflammation signaling ***,the flow cytometry results showed that DLTD tablets efficiently reduced reactive oxygen species content and inhibited rat neural stem cell apoptosis induced by hydrogen *** also inhibited the mitochondrial membrane potential damage induced by hydrogen *** analysis showed that DLTD induced cell cycle-related protein,CDK2 and CDK4,and reduced CDKN1A protein expression *** together,our study provided new insights of DLTD in treating lumbar spinal stenosis through reducing reactive oxygen species content,decreasing apoptosis by inhibiting CDKN1A and promoting CDK2 and CDK4 expression levels.

The technical complexity and protracted learning curve before achievingperfection in laparoscopic surgery （Ls） have paved the way to thedevelopment of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery （HALs）, which hasevolved as a hybrid of open and laparoscopic approach, while keeping theconvenience and safety of the former and advantages of minimallyinvasive surgery （MIs） of the latter. As its name implies, this noveltechnique allows the surgeon to introduce the non-dominant hand into theabdominal cavity to assist the surgery through a hand-assisted devicewhile maintaining pneumoperitoneum. The purpose of this study was toexamine the results of a single surgeon’s experience with hand-assistedlaparoscopic left colon resection for malignancy;as it is one of the mostchallenging procedure due to the narrow pelvis and complex anatomy. Weconducted a retrospective analysis of30specific selected cases ofcolorectal carcinoma confined to the left side involving the descendingcolon, sigmoid colon and rectum5cm above the anal margin;whichunderwent hand-assisted laparoscopic resection between september2010 and December2011, using the Dextrus （Ethicon Endo-surgery, INC,UsA） hand-assisted device （HAD）. The clinical records were criticallyreviewed and analyzed in terms of the most important operative andpostoperative evaluation parameters. We observed a remarkable operativetime of110minutes after only15cases done with a minimal blood loss of100ml and achieved a100%success rate as there were no intra-operativecomplications necessitating conversion to open technique and as well asno postoperative complications noted till date. Hence, we concluded thathand-assisted laparoscopic surgery is a highly reliable, feasible and awin-win approach to both the surgeon and the patient;furthermore ahelping hand inside the abdomen is a psychological inspiration inciting theconfidence of novel surgeons, initiating them to cross the bridge towardsmore complex advanced laparoscopic surgery, while it can be the las

Asymptomatic dengue infection in adults of major cities of Pakistan

Objective: To determine the asymptomatic dengue infection in adults of Pakistani ***: This study was conducted in five major cities(Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore,Multan, and Peshawar) of Pakistan.A total of 5 230 adults aged 18 years and above without a history of dengue fever at any point in their life were enrolled from participating *** who were confirmed for dengue previously were *** the total, 62.6%(n = 3 276) were male with an average age of 34.6 *** were briefed about the objectives of the study, and written consent was obtained to perform dengue Ig G test using enzyme linked immunosorbent *** brief information related to age, gender and area was also taken on ***: Overall 32.3%(n = 1 691) was having asymptomatic dengue infection which was 67.5%(n = 756) in Karachi followed by 39.1%(n = 391) in Islamabad, 29.9%(n =316) in Lahore and 21%(n = 228) in Peshawar and none from *** males were affected with asymptomatic dengue infection than *** asymptomatic dengue infection was significantly higher in different cities; however, there was no significant difference with respect to age ***: The asymptomatic dengue infection is higher in cities ***,Islamabad and Lahore which are at risk of developing secondary dengue *** is a need of awareness among the public about secondary dengue infection.
