The use of biochar can have several effects on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation method and application ***,the molecular mechanisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this research was to improve the understanding of these mechanisms by characterizing the metabolic effects of sugarcane bagasse biochar on soybean *** types of biochars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(scB300),400℃(scB400)and 600℃(scB600).Then,each one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experiment was performed in 8 days of incubation,when the number of germinated seeds and the average radicle length were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomass(DB)was subjected to extraction with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extracts were submitted to metabolomics analysis by proton Nuclear Magnetic *** Relative Germination,Relative Average Radicle Growth and Germination Index increased in all treatments compared to *** the other hand,the DB increased in all treatments,except for scB300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites(alanine,asparagine,acetic acid,citric acid,glycerol,fatty acids and sucrose)were identified and quantified in DB extracts as the most influential finding for the separation of *** together,these results strongly suggested that biochars accelerated the catabolism of triacylglycerols to sucrose and induced a slight osmotic stress.

Bats are the second-most diverse group of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gaps remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,especially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we explore the influence of such factors by comparing species richness and composition of bat flies on host bats,as well as specialization and modularity of bat–bat fly interaction networks between seasons and adult host *** captured bats and collected their ectoparasitic flies at 10 sampling sites in the savannahs of Amapástate,northeastern region of the Brazilian *** female bats being more parasitized and recording greater bat fly species richness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistically *** pooled network could be divided into 15 compartments with 54 links,and all subnetworks comprised>12 *** total number of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respectively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed higher bat fly species richness and abundance in the wet season,whereas specialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats displayed higher specialization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex contribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating bat–bat fly interaction networks.

BAcKGROUND The association between the intestinal microbiota and psychiatric disorders is becoming increasingly *** gut microbiota contributes to colorectal carcinogenesis(cRc),as demonstrated with colibactin-producing Escherichia coli(copEc).AIM To evaluate the association between copEc prevalence and anxiety-and depressive-like behaviors with both preclinical and clinical *** patients followed after a cRc surgery and for whom the prevalence of copEc has been investigated underwent a psychiatric *** were compared according to the copEc *** parallel c57BL6/J wild type mice and mice with a cRc susceptibility were chronically infected with a copEc *** behavior was assessed using the Elevated plus Maze test,the Forced swimming Test and the Behavior recognition system phenoTyper®.REsULTs In a limited cohort,all patients with copEc colonization presented with psychiatric disorders several years before cancer diagnosis,whereas only one patient(17%)without copEc *** result was confirmed in c57BL6/J wildtype mice and in a cRc susceptibility mouse model(adenomatous polyposis colimultiple intestinal neoplasia/+).Mice exhibited a significant increase in anxiety-and depressive-like behaviors after chronic infection with a copEc *** This finding provides the first evidence that copEc infection can induce microbiota-gut-brain axis disturbances in addition to its procarcinogenic properties.

Hematopoietic tumors are associated with diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and a poor prognosis. Furthermore, their pathophysiology in dogs is not well understood. chronic lymphocytic leukemia has been rarely reported in golden retrievers, perhaps due to difficulties in diagnosis and care. An 8-year-old spayed female golden retriever was referred to our hospital with a 2-month history of fatigue, weakness, and selective appetite. The dog was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia based on blood smear evaluation. Despite treatment, the dog deteriorated and the owners opted for euthanasia. Histopathological examination revealed atypical lymphocytes in the spleen, extramedullary hematopoiesis in the spleen and liver, bone marrow depletion, moderate neutrophilic myocarditis, and acute renal tubular necrosis. In an immunohistochemical panel, cells in the spleen and bone marrow were positive for anti-cD20, anti-cD45, anti-cD3, anti-IBA-1, anti-Ki67, anti-MUM-1, and anti-pAX-5. In conclusion, the leukemia diagnosis was confirmed through reactive histiocytosis, marked extramedullary hematopoiesis, and other clinical and laboratory findings. Herein, we report a case of chronic lymphocytic leukemia in a female dog with clinical, laboratory, and necroscopy findings.

It consists of a retrospective study with twenty-two individuals diagnosed with DRc: fourteen HD and eight cApD, followed up in the dialysis center of Antonio pedro University Hospital (HUAp) of Fluminense Federal University (UFF), between 2015 and 2017. Fifteen healthy control (Hc) subjects were included, without diagnosed cKD. patients with HIV positive, hepatitis A, B, and c, pregnant, cancer, smokers, alcoholics and those exposed to X-rays in the last 3 months, were excluded. Objectives: As oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction may be linked to the higher prevalence of cVD in cKD patients, we measured the activities of the antioxidants enzymes: sOD and Gpx and total NO levels in the plasma and serum of end-stage cKD patients undergoing dialysis therapy, comparing with the Hc group. Methods: Quantification of NO levels was performed by fluorometric kit, while activities of sOD and Gpx were determined using kinetic methods. Results: We found higher plasma sOD activity in HD (8.58 U/ml) and cApD (10.14 U/ml), compared to c (3.73 U/ml) group, while Gpx activity was decreased in HD (115.38 nmol/h/ml) and cApD (122.76 nmol/h/ml) groups compared to Hc group (275.83 nmol/h/ml). Total serum NO concentration was decreased in HD (14.09 pmol/μl) and cApD (10.26 pmol/μl), compared to non-cKD patients (49.65 pmol/μl). conclusion: Decreased total serum NO and Gpx activities may lead to endothelial dysfunction and consequently a higher prevalence of cVD in cKD patients.
