Purpose: The authors analyzed the epidemiological and clinical aspects of diabetic retinopathy at the Center for the Application of the specialized studies Diploma in Ophthalmology, Gamal Abdel Nasser University (CHU/ Donka) Conakry. Diabetic retinopathy (eye damage: eye and retina) is a serious complication of diabetes that affects 50% of type 2 diabetic patients. The eyes are particularly sensitive to damage to a small vessel. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the retinal localization of diabetic micro angiopathy resulting in impaired blood flow in the affected territories, the consequences of which will determine the clinical manifestations of the disease. DR is the leading cause of vision loss in adults of working age. Patients and Methods: This is a longitudinal prospective study carried out at CADEs/O concerning 198 diabetic patients. The selection criteria were that the media be transparent and the fundus accessible over a period of six months from February to July 2018. Results: A total of 73 patients (37%) presented with diabetic retinopathy with an average age of 49.5 +/−9 years. The sex ratio (M/F) was 0.6 with a female predominance of 59%. Liberal profession patients were the most numerous 47.5%. Type 2 diabetes was the most common (85.86%). Diabetes fundus assessment was the most common reason for consultation (52%). Arterial hypertension was the most incriminated risk factor (45.45%) followed by the poor balance of diabetes (40.90%), and the age of diabetes (28.28%). 9.5% had diabetic retinopathy complicated by rubella iris, neovascular glaucoma and retinal detachment. Conclusion: Diabetic retinopathy is a common condition for which early detection and regular monitoring must be the rule to prevent, slow down or avoids irreversible blindness if possible, induced by this pathology by a good balance of diabetes and good control of associated risk factors.

Factors Contributing to Contamination of street Foods in Bamako, Mali

The World Health Organization states that foodborne diseases are a worldwide public health issue. Although street foods can provide nutritious and affordable ready-to-eat meals for city dwellers, their health risks can outweigh the benefits. A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Bamako district, focusing on street food vendors near schools, universities, extensive markets, administrative centers, and major roads. We aimed to sample fifty (50) sellers per municipality, making 300 sellers for the Bamako district. We developed a survey sheet to collect data, and six teams rotated between the municipalities each month. Before starting the collection, the teams were provided administrative papers approved by the municipal authority. The survey revealed three types of sales sites: fixed (65%), semi-fixed (30%), and mobile (4.40%). The proportion of sellers was 26.8%, 23.2%, 19.7%, and 4.2% in municipalities III, Iv, and I. In municipalities I, II, III, Iv, and vI, respectively, 92%, 95.70%, 93%, 87.2%, and 100% of the sellers were female. The age distribution of sellers was 65.63%, 46.81%, 40.82%, 38.30%, 36.17%, 36%, and 32% in the 25-34 and 35 - 44 age groups. Illiteracy rates were 59.20%, 61.70%, 55.30%, 75%, and 56% in municipalities I, II, III, Iv, and vI, respectively. The study identified two categories of sellers: 48.3% in type 1 and 51.7% in type 2. The first category comprised 154 sellers, and the second 165 sellers. The survey found that 66.00%, 56.00%, 48.90%, 44.90%, 38.30%, and 34.40% of municipal v, vI, III, I, II, and Iv sales sites were open-air. In municipality I, 63.30% of the sites were under hangars, while in municipalities II and Iv, the corresponding percentages were 51.10% and 59.40%, respectively. Moreover, 46.00%, 31.90%, 31.30%, 30.60%, and 27.70% of the sites in municipalities vI, II, Iv, I, and III were located next to gutters. Coverage and Factors Associated with Acceptance and satisfaction of seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention in six Health Zones in Benin

Introduction: seasonal malaria chemoprevention (sMC) was adopted in 2019 in two health zones in Benin where malaria transmission is very high. Positive results led to the extension of the intervention to other zones with additional financial support. Annual sMC campaigns from 2021 to 2023 were carried out in all six health zones in the Atacora and Alibori departments. In five years of implementation, various approaches have been developed on the basis of a communication plan facilitating buy-in and acceptance by all stakeholders. The aim of this study was to assess the effective coverage and acceptance of the sMC by their beneficiary populations in 2023. Methods: It was a cross-sectional study with an analytical focus. Data collection took place from November 30 to December 13, 2023. The study population consisted of children under 5 years of age residing in the departments of Atacora and Alibori in northern Benin. A total of 3573 children under 5 years of age were included in the study, and their parents or guardians were interviewed. Results: During the 2023 campaign, 87.7% of targets were reached by sMC administration and 100.00% of children had received at least one dose of sMC by the fourth visit. Effective therapeutic coverage of sMC was 70.55%, with 99.60% in BNK, 69.40% in KGs, 16.20% in MK, 56.10% in 2KP, 92.40% in NBT and 89.60% in TMC. This coverage was statistically related to child and respondent ages (p Conclusion: sMC is a strategy accepted by the population, and the main reasons for non-participation in sMC were dominated by the absence of mothers or babysitters when the agents visited.

Performance evaluation of the incorporation of different wire meshes in between perforated current collectors and membrane electrode assembly on the Passive Direct methanol fuel cell

本文以三门峡国道209上跨陇海铁路立交桥为研究对象,采用MIDAs/Civil建立裸墩、最大双悬臂和成桥合龙3种状态下的有限元模型,对主墩进行线性屈曲分析和几何非线性屈曲分析,计算出稳定性系数,探讨不同荷载工况下稳定性的影响因素。通过调整桥墩主要设计参数,对主墩进行稳定性影响参数的敏感性分析。结果表明:全桥施工及成桥状态下,墩顶施工荷载、挂篮荷载、温度效应和车道荷载对主墩的稳定性影响较大;在稳定性影响参数敏感性分析中,随壁厚和混凝土强度等级的提高,稳定性系数逐渐增大;墩高的增加会使稳定性系数逐渐降低,但降低速率会逐渐减缓;系梁数量和位置均会对稳定性产生显著影响;随主墩高差的减小,稳定性系数逐渐降低,桥梁结构荷载重分配,墩顶主梁弯矩逐渐降低。

Background and Objective: HIv, hepatitis B virus (HBv) and hepatitis C virus (HCv) are very widespread in the world, however, less than 20% of the people affected are diagnosed and treated. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of HIv, HCv and HBv co-infections in pregnant women at Bangui Community University Hospital and the cost of screening. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving consenting pregnant women who came for antenatal care was performed. HIv, HCv antibodies and HBv antigens were detected using Exacto Triplexsup>?sup> HIv/HCv/HBsAg rapid test, cross-validated by ELIsA tests. sociodemographic and professional data, the modes of transmission and prevention of HIv and both hepatitis viruses were collected in a standard sheet and analyzed using the Epi-Info software version 7. Results: Pregnant women aged 15 to 24 were the most affected (45.3%);high school girls (46.0%), and pregnant women living in cohabitation (65.3%) were the most represented. Twenty-five (16.7%) worked in the formal sector, 12.7% were unemployed housewives and the remainder in the informal sector. The prevalence of HIv, HBv, and HCv viruses was 11.8%, 21.9% and 22.2%, respectively. The prevalence of co-infections was 8.6% for HIv-HBv, 10.2% for HIv-HCv, 14.7% for HBv-HCv and 6.5% for HIv-HBv-HCv. All positive results and 10% of negative results by the rapid test were confirmed by ELIsA tests. The serology of the three viruses costs 39,000 FCFA (60 Euros) by ELIsA compared to 10,000 FCFA (15.00 Euros) with Exacto Triplexsup>?sup> HIv/HCv/AgHBs (Biosynex, strasbourg, France). Conclusion: The low level of education and awareness of hepatitis are barriers to development and indicate the importance of improving the literacy rate of women in the Central African Republic (CAR). Likewise, the high prevalence of the three viruses shows the need for the urgent establishment of a national program to combat viral hepatitis in the CAR.

实时构建地表环境高逼真数字模型一直是遥感航测领域的研究热点,也是实现地理环境的虚拟映射并进而形成数字孪生地理环境的关键基础。针对当前地表环境三维数字模型构建中存在的速度慢、时效性低和大场景应用受限等问题,本文在综述现有国内外研究的基础上,结合团队研究基础,提出一个基于无人机平台的地表环境实时稠密点云生成与数字模型构建方法。研究通用实时定位与地图构建框架,打通了从数据获取到三维点云生成、数字模型重建、结果分析等技术链条,设计动态内存管理模块和联合GNss优化的PI-sLAM,突破了在线获取数据与位姿解算、实时稠密点云生成、实时数字表面模型(DsM)和数字正射影像图(DOM)构建等关键技术。经实验验证,方法在稠密点云生成和数字模型构建精度与现有离线建模算法相当的同时,速度提升了30—50倍,达到在线采集数据并实时建模的程度。应用案例表明,本方法可应用于灾害预警救援、应急管理、作战模拟等高时效地形三维重建中,同时能够为数字孪生地理环境数字底座构建提供技术支撑。

indocyanine green-based fluorescence imaging in visceral and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery:state of the art and future directions

In recent years, the use of fluorescence-guided surgery(FGs) to treat benign and malignant visceral, hepatobiliary and pancreatic neoplasms has significantly increased. FGs relies on the fluorescence signal emitted by injected substances(fluorophores) after being illuminated by ad hoc laser sources to help guide the surgical procedure and provide the surgeon with real-time visualization of the fluorescent structures of interest that would be otherwise invisible. This review surveys and discusses the most common and emerging clinical applications of indocyanine green(ICG)-based fluorescence in visceral, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. The analysis, findings, and discussion presented here rely on the authors' significant experience with this technique in their medical institutions, an up-to-date review of the most relevant articles published on this topic between 2014 and 2018, and lengthy discussions with key opinion leaders in the field during recent conferences and congresses. For each application, the benefits and limitations of this technique, as well as applicable future directions, are described. The imaging of fluorescence emitted by ICG is a simple, fast,relatively inexpensive, and harmless tool with numerous different applications in surgery for both neoplasms and benign pathologies of the visceral and hepatobiliary systems. The ever-increasing availability of visual systems that can utilize this tool will transform some of these applications into the standard of care in the near future. Further studies are needed to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each application of ICG-based fluorescence imaging in abdominal surgery.

This paper concerns the study of the numerical approximation for the following initialboundary value problem{ut-uzx=f（u）,t∈（0,1）,t∈（0,T） u（0,t）=0,t∈（0,1）,t∈（0,T） u（x,0）=u0（x）,x∈（0,1）where f（s） is a positive, increasing, C1 convex function for the nonnegative values of s, f（0）〉0, f∞ds/f（s）〈∞, u0∈C1（[0, 1]）, u0（0） = 0, u＇0（1）=0. We find some conditions under which the solution of a semidiscrete form of the above problem blows up in a finite time and estimate its semidiserete blow-up time. We also prove the convergence of the semidiscrete blow-up time to the theoretical one. A similar study has been also undertaken for a discrete form of the above problem. Finally, we give some numerical results to illustrate our analysis.
