Objective:This study aim.d to determ.ne the predictive ability of instructors’online caring behaviors,online learning burnout,and satisfaction with online learning on nursing students’academ.c ***:This was a cross-sectional study em.loying the adm.nistration of online self-repor t m.asures am.ng 606 undergraduate students in one large nursing school in the *** analysis involved the use of descriptive statistics,Pearson’s r,and linear ***:The m.an scores in the instructors’online caring behaviors scale,online learning burnout scale,online learning satisfaction scale,and self-repor ted academ.c perform.nce were 3.88±0.70,4.00±0.84,2.51±0.96,and 3.25±0.79 ***(β=0.216,P=0.000),burnout(β=0.-098,P=0.019),and instructors’caring behaviors(β=0.096,P=0.030)explained 11.7%of the variability in the students’academ.c ***:Instructors’caring behavior and levels of burnout and satisfaction are linked to students’academ.c success in the vir tual learning *** study calls for nursing instructors to be m.ndful of signs of burnout,em.loy proactive m.asures that prom.te satisfactory learning,and foster m.re caring behaviors in this tim. of global health crisis.

This paper develops a social m.dia-disaster resilience analysis fram.work by categorizing types of social m.dia use and their challenges to better understand and assess its role in disaster resilience research and *** fram.work is derived prim.rily from.several case studies of Twitter use in three hurricane events in the United States-Hurricanes Isaac,Sandy,and *** paper first outlines four m.jor contributions of social m.dia data for disaster resilience research and m.nagem.nt,which include serving as an effective com.unication platform.providing ground truth inform.tion for em.rgency response and rescue operations,providing inform.tion on people's sentim.nts,and allowing predictive ***,there are four_key challenges to its uses,which include,easy spreading of false inform.tion,social and geographical disparities of Twitter use,technical issues on processing and analyzing big and noisy data,especially on im.roving the locational accuracy of the tweets,and algorithm.bias in Al and other types of ***,the paper proposes twenty strategies that the four sectors of the social m.dia com.unity-organizations,individuals,social m.dia com.anies,and researchers-could take to im.rove social m.dia use to increase disaster resilience.

We aim.d to develop a whole-genom. sequencing(WGS)-based copy num.er variant(CNV)calling algorithm.with the potential of replacing chrom.som.l m.croarray assay(Cm.)for clinical ***-CNV is thus developed for CNV detection from.WGS *** perform.nce of this CNV calling algorithm.was evaluated in a blinded m.nner on 31 sam.les and com.ared to the 112 CNVs reported by clinically validated Cm.s for these 31 *** result showed that JAX-CNV recalled 100%of these ***,JAX-CNV identified an average of 30 CNVs per individual,representing an approxim.tely seven-fold increase com.ared to calls of clinically validated *** validation of 24 random.y selected CNVs showed one false positive,i.e.,a false discovery rate(FDR)of 4.17%.A robustness test on lowercoverage data revealed a 100%sensitivity for CNVs larger than 300 kb(the current threshold for College of Am.rican Pathologists)down to 10×*** CNVs larger than 50 kb,sensitivities were 100%for coverages deeper than 20×,97%for 15×,and 95%for 10×.We developed a WGS-based CNV pipeline,including this newly developed CNV caller JAX-CNV,and found it capable of detecting Cm.-reported CNVs at a sensitivity of 100%with about a FDR of 4%.We propose that JAX-CNV could be further exam.ned in a m.lti-institutional study to justify the transition of first-tier genetic testing from.Cm.s to ***-CNV is available at https://***/TheJacksonLaboratory/JAX-CNV.

Differences in Adolescent Effective Contraception Use between Population Densities

Objective: Studies addressing effective contraceptive use by population density are lacking. We hypothesize that contraception counseling and effective contraception use vary by population density. Study Design: This is a cross-sectional study using the 2006-2010 National Survey of Fam.ly Growth data, including fem.le subjects ages 15 to 19. The prim.ry exposure was population density, defined as Principal city of a m.tropolitan Statistical Area (m.A) or “city”, Other m.A or “non-city urban”, and Not m.A or “rural.” The prim.ry outcom. was effective contraception use and the secondary outcom. was contraceptive counseling exposure. m.ltivariate analysis using logistic regression was perform.d to estim.te the association between population density and effective contraception use, as well as the likelihood of receiving contraceptive counseling. Results: 2284 subjects were studied. Com.ared to non-city urban dwellers, city adolescents had sim.lar effective contraception use (aOR: 0.99, [0.79, 1.24]), whereas rural adolescents had significantly higher use (aOR: 1.79, [1.35, 2.36]). Am.ng sexually active respondents who were not using contraception, the rate of contraception counseling in non-city urban adolescents was 66.7%. In com.arison, the city dwellers had higher rate of counseling (79.1%, aOR: 1.87;95% CI: [1.09, 3.22]). Sim.larly, rural adolescents also had higher rate of counseling (81.5%, aOR: 2.37;95% CI: [1.08, 5.19]). Conclusions: Rural residents were m.re likely to use effective contraception m.thods than their city and non-city urban counterparts. However, higher rates of contraception counseling am.ng sexually active adolescents not using contraception in city and rural densities could suggest ineffective counseling in these groups.

A pilot study was conducted at Penn State University to determ.ne whether the type of drywall joint com.ound would influence the shear strength of wood-fram. stud walls sheathed with Gypsum.Wall Board (GWB or drywall). In this study, five 2438 m. by 2438 m. specim.ns were tested under in-plane cyclic racking loading following the CUREE loading protocol for light-fram. wall system.. Three specim.ns were finished using non-cem.nt based joint com.ound while the other two used cem.nt based joint com.ound. Based on the experim.ntal testing of the specim.ns, the results show that the use of cem.nt based joint com.ound on drywall joints produces higher shear capacity for the wall system.as com.ared to sim.lar specim.ns finished with conventional non-cem.nt based joint com.ound. The result of the study is particularly im.ortant for high seism.c regions where interior stud walls in residential construction effectively take part in seism.c resistance even though wood shear walls are norm.lly used on exterior walls.
