Experimental validation of adsorption filter model under dynamic VOC concentrations:Prediction of long-term efficiency

Indoor volatile organic compound(VOC)concentrations are often dynamic because the ventilation and emission rates of VOC usually *** filters used for air purification may operate with a capacity that fluctuates with unsteady VOC concentrations in *** the dynamic interactions between adsorption filters and indoor air is crucial for predicting their performance under real-world *** study presents a numerical model of partially reversible adsorption equilibrium coupled with a mass transfer model to create a predictive model for adsorption efficiency in environments with dynamic VOC concentrations.A honeycomb adsorption filter for benzene adsorption was simulated and tested,including the breakthrough and purging curve and the long-term efficiency in an experimental chamber with dynamic *** results reveal that the curve generated with the partially reversible adsorption equilibrium model closely aligns with the measured ***,the model was coupled with a chamber model and the simulation results were compared with those calculated using the filter model with a single adsorption *** VOCs were emitted intermittently in the chamber and there was sufficient ventilation,the concentration peaks in the chamber derived from the models with different assumptions on adsorption reversibility were significantly different from each ***,it was observed that the reversible adsorption capacity of the filter was crucial for long-term operation in rooms with dynamic *** the reversible adsorption capacity constituting only 6.7%of the total adsorption capacity of the tested filter,it contributes to a significant“peak shaving and valley filling”effect,even when the irreversible adsorption capacity is *** adsorption reversibility should be taken as an important parameter for selecting adsorbents for dynamic concentration conditions.

High-resolution parameter estimation techniques have recently been applied to jointly estimate multiple signal *** this paper,we consider the joint angle and frequency estimation （JAFE） *** define a novel spacetime matrix which includes the information of incident angles and *** joint angle and frequency estimation method used the defined space-time matrix is named as spacetime matrix *** using of the proposed method,the frequencies and incident angles can be estimated by the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors of the defined spacetime matrix,***,the presented method can automatically determined the paring of the estimated angles and frequencies by the relationship between eigenvalues and *** with the previous work,the space-time matrix method can provide better performance with substantially reduced computational *** performances of some relevant algorithms are compared via simulations,and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.

In this paper,we aim to design a practical low complexity low-density parity-check(LDPC)coded scheme to build a secure open channel and protect information from *** this end,we first propose a punctured LDPC coded scheme,where the information bits in a codeword are punctured and only the parity check bits are transmitted to the *** further propose a notion of check node type distribution and derive multi-edge type extrinsic information transfer functions to estimate the security performance,instead of the well-known weak metric bit error *** optimize the check node type distribution in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)gap and modify the progressive edge growth algorithm to design finite-length *** results show that our proposed scheme can achieve a lower computational complexity and a smaller security gap,compared to the existing scrambling and puncturing schemes.

Super-resolution reconstruction in medical imaging has become more demanding due to the necessity of obtaining high-quality images with minimal radiation dose,such as in low-field magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).However,image super-resolution reconstruction remains a difficult task because of the complexity and high textual requirements for diagnosis *** this paper,we offer a deep learning based strategy for reconstructing medical images from low resolutions utilizing Transformer and generative adversarial networks(T-GANs).The integrated system can extract more precise texture information and focus more on important locations through global image matching after successfully inserting Transformer into the generative adversarial network for picture ***,we weighted the combination of content loss,adversarial loss,and adversarial feature loss as the final multi-task loss function during the training of our proposed model *** comparison to established measures like peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and structural similarity index measure(SSIM),our suggested T-GAN achieves optimal performance and recovers more texture features in super-resolution reconstruction of MRI scanned images of the knees and belly.

The“average occupant”methodology is widely used in energy consumption simulations of residential buildings;however,it fails to consider the differences in energy use behavior among family *** on a field survey on the Central Shaanxi Plain,to identify the energy use behavior patterns of typical families,a stochastic energy use behavior model considering differences in energy use behavior among family members was proposed,to improve the accuracy of energy consumption simulations of residential *** results indicated that the surveyed rural families could be classified into the following four types depending on specific energy use behavior patterns:families of one elderly couple,families of one middle-aged couple,families of one elderly couple and one child,and families of one couple and one ***,on typical summer days,the results of daily building energy consumption simulation obtained by the“average occupant”methodology were 25.39%and 28%lower than the simulation results obtained by the model proposed in this study for families of one elderly couple and families of one middle-aged couple,and 13.05%and 23.05%higher for families of one elderly couple and one child,and families of one couple and one *** typical winter days,for the four types of families,the results of daily building energy consumption simulation obtained by the“average occupant”methodology were 21.69%,10.84%,1.21%,and 8.39%lower than the simulation results obtained by the model proposed in this study,respectively.

An ensemble n-sub-epidemic modeling framework that integrates sub-epidemics to capture complex temporal dynamics has demonstrated powerful forecasting capability in previous *** modeling framework can characterize complex epidemic patterns,including plateaus,epidemic resurgences,and epidemic waves characterized by multiple peaks of different *** this tutorial paper,we introduce and illustrate SubEpiPredict,a user-friendly MATLAB toolbox for fitting and forecasting time series data using an ensemble n-sub-epidemic modeling *** toolbox can be used for model fitting,forecasting,and evaluation of model performance of the calibration and forecasting periods using metrics such as the weighted interval score(WIS).We also provide a detailed description of these methods including the concept of the n-sub-epidemic model,constructing ensemble forecasts from the top-ranking models,*** the illustration of the toolbox,we utilize publicly available daily COVID-19 death data at the national level for the United *** MATLAB toolbox introduced in this paper can be very useful for a wider group of audiences,including policymakers,and can be easily utilized by those without extensive coding and modeling backgrounds.
