Thermoelectric materials Mg2Si0.8Sn0.2 were sintered under three different conditions including no electricity sintering（NCS）, low electricity sintering（LCS）,and high electricity sintering（HCS）. Thermoelectric performance and microstructure of three group samples were measured and compared. The results indicate that the application of electric current during the sintering process changes the microstructure and significantly increases the density of samples, and increases the electric conductivity and the power factor. The electric current activated/assisted sintering is an effective way to obtain thermoelectric materials with excellent performance.

To date,there is little information about the demography of vasectomy reversal(VR)patients or the factors currently influencing VR effectiveness in China,especially after the universal two-child policy was released in *** this research,demographic data and perioperative medical records of VR patients were extracted from seven major hospitals in different provinces or municipalities of ***,a telephone survey of the patients was conducted to collect follow-up ***,448 VR cases from the past 13 years were *** results were analyzed by stratified comparison to investigate factors that can influence postoperative vas deferens patency and pregnancy *** statistical methods were used,and all of the protocols were approved by the Ethics Committees of the institutes in this *** results showed that the annual operation volume of VR quadrupled after the two-child policy was *** and a long duration of vasectomy were significantly associated with a lower patency rate.A follow-up survey showed that the general postoperative pregnancy rate was 27.2%.For female partners over the age of 35 years,the postoperative pregnancy rate showed a more severe decline,but only 35.5%of them had been given a fertility examination before their husbands’VR *** work revealed that more patients in China have been demanding VR in recent ***-quality microsurgery and a short duration of vasectomy are crucial for restoring patency by *** andrologists should perform a preoperative fertility evaluation of the patients’female partners.

AIM:To observe changes in the best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central macular thickness(CMT),and central choroidal thickness(CCT)of patients with macular edema(ME)secondary to ischemic retinal vein occlusion(i RVO)following intravitreal Conbercept ***:This retrospective study included 33 eyes from 33 patients who received intravitreal injections of Conbercept for ME secondary to i *** were performed on a 3+pro re nata(3+PRN)*** of the patients were examined by fundus fluorescein angiography and spectral domain optical coherence tomography at the first *** photocoagulation was performed in the nonperfusion area of the retina of all eyes after the first ***,CMT,and CCT were observed before and after 6 mo of *** number of injections necessary to achieve improved vision was also ***:Following Conbercept treatment,the mean BCVA significantly improved from 0.81±0.39 at baseline to 0.41±0.25 and 0.43±0.29 log MAR in the third and sixth months,respectively(both P=0.000).The CMT of the patients at baseline was 556.75±98.57μm;304.78±68.53 and 306.85±76.77μm 3 and 6 mo after treatment,respectively(both P=0.000 vs baseline).The CCTs of the patients at baseline,3 and 6 mo after treatment were 304.63±57.83,271.31±45.53,and 272.29±39.93μm,respectively(P=0.026 and 0.035 vs baseline).No severe adverse event relevant to the therapy was noted,and the average number of injections delivered was ***:Intravitreal Conbercept injection combined with laser photocoagulation appears to be a safe and effective treatment for ME secondary to i RVO in the short-term.

Corporate environmental investment helps improve corporate environmental performance,which,therefore,is an effective micro-level solution to mitigate environmental concerns generated by corporate excessive resource exploitation and energy *** Chinese listed firms within environment-related industries over the period 2011–2018 as the research setting,this study applies the panel data model to investigate the impact of corporate innovation on environmental investment,as well as the moderating effects of institutional *** results show that corporate innovation significantly improves firms'environmental investment with 1%Research&Development(R&D)investment ratio increase generating 2326 CNY(around 351 USD at 2018 exchange rate)increase in environmental investment;the moderating effect of environment policy is positive and significant while the moderating effect of internationalisation level is not significant,indicating that current environment policy implementation helps to strengthen the positive impact of corporate innovation on environmental investment while the role of internationalisation level in this nexus is not *** a micro-level perspective,the findings of this study shed light on mitigating environmental concerns through enhancing corporate innovation,and provide evidence that China's corporate internationalisation process awaits more regulatory controls.

To explore differences in leaf morphology between Sapindus mukorossi and Sapindus delavayi,and how the environment might drive these differences,80 germplasm samples from the Sapindus germplasm nursery in Fujian Province were *** study revealed a wide variation and diversity in 16 germplasm traits,both within and between species grown under the same *** average,the relative contribution of intraspecific variability to total variability was more important(83%) than the relative contribution of interspecific variability(17%).PERMANOVA analysis showed differences in leaflet thickness,length,perimeter,length to width ratio,and leaf hairs or trichome *** analyses between leaf morphological traits and environmental variables indicated that leaves tended to be larger,longer,and thicker in wetter,warmer,and low-altitude *** analysis of the relationship between climate and leaf morphology revealed that *** had a greater sensitivity to climate variation,particularly in response to mean temperatures of the coldest and warmest seasons,which led to differences in leaf traits and the distribution of the two *** findings contribute to the understanding of leaf morphology variations in *** and ***,and provide a basis for the collection of Sapindus germplasm resources,their cultivation and use to help address climate change.

The high-purity single-photon source plays an important role in the field of quantum ***,it is generated through spontaneous parametric down-conversion *** this paper,we investigate and summarize a few approaches on obtaining single-photon sources with a high purity using either PPKTP or PPLN nonlinear ***,we present improved schemes to increase the purity based on existing work,corresponding applicable conditions and procedures are discussed and ***,we carry out numerical simulations and show that nearly perfect purity can be reached even without using any ***,this work might provide valuable references for the generation and application of high purity single-photon sources.

Background The order and mechanism of pathological changes in acetabular dysplasia are still unclear. This study investigated cartilage changes in rabbit acetabular dysplasia models at different *** Twenty-seven 1-month-old New Zealand rabbits underwent cast immobilization of the left hind limb in knee extension. Serial acetabular dysplasia models were established by assessment of the acetabular index and Sharp＇s angle on radiographs. The thickness of the acetabular cartilage was measured under a microscope, and fibrosis was observed. Ultrastructural changes were investigated with scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The messenger RNA expression of collagen Ⅰ and Ⅱ, β1 integrin, and caspase-9 were measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain *** In an immature group of rabbits, the acetabular index of the treated hip increased with animal growth. The cartilage on the brim of the left acetabulum was significantly thicker than that on the right side. The collagen fibrils on the surface of the cartilage became gross, and the chondrocytes in the enlargement layer underwent necrosis. In a mature group of rabbits, the left Sharp＇s angle increased in the rabbits with 6-week casting. The cartilage on the brim of the left acetabulum underwent fibrosis. The chondrocytes were weakly stained, and the number of lysosomes was much larger than normal. The messenger RNA expression of collagen Ⅰ and Ⅱ, β1 integrin, and caspase-9 in the cartilage differed significantly at different *** Increasing thickness followed by fibrosis may be the order of pathological cartilage changes in acetabular dysplasia, with changes in ultrastructure and collagen expression contributing to the process.

Pai-Nong-San(PNS), a prescription of traditional Chinese medicine, has been used for years to treat abscessation-induced diseases including colitis and colorectal cancer. This study was aimed to investigate the preventive effects and possible protective mechanism of PNS on a colitis-associated colorectal cancer(CAC) mouse model induced by azoxymethane(AOM)/dextran sodium sulfate(DSS). The macroscopic and histopathologic examinations of colon injury and DAI score were observed. The inflammatory indicators of intestinal immunity were determined by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. The high throughput 16S rRNA sequence of gut microbiota in the feces of mice was performed. Western blot was used to investigate the protein expression of the Wnt signaling pathway in colon tissues. PNS improved colon injury, as manifested by the alleviation of hematochezia, decreased DAI score, increased colon length, and reversal of pathological changes. PNS treatment protected against AOM/DSS-induced colon inflammation by regulating the expression of CD4;and CD8;T cells, inhibiting the production of HIF-α, IL-6, and TNF-α, and promoting the expression of IL-4 and IFN-γ in colon tissues. Meanwhile, PNS improved the components of gut microbiota, as measured by the adjusted levels of Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria, and Lactobacillus. PNS down-regulated the protein expression of pGSK-3β, β-catenin, and c-Myc, while up-regulating the GSK-3β and p-β-catenin in colon tissues of CAC mice. In conclusion, our results suggested that PNS exhibits protective effect on AOM/DSS-induced colon injury and alleviates the development of CAC through suppressing inflammation, improving gut microbiota, and inhibiting the Wnt signaling pathway.
