Understanding the effects of mineral composition on geomechanical characteristics is critical in order to design and optimize the hydraulic fracturing necessary for shale gas reservoir *** information is still missing in effects of mineral content and the experimental methodologies *** paper provided an in-depth assessment of the various experimental methodologies and their applications in the relationship between the mineralogical and geomechanical features of the shale *** results revealed that more brittle minerals increase their strength,but chemical reaction that creats pores decrease their *** content of carbonate or quartz increases a rock's brittleness,while a high content of clay increases a rock's plasticity and decreases its *** phyllosilicate content increases,the uniaxial compressive strength decreases,and this could be because phyllosilicate minerals have a weakening effect on the mineral ***'s modulus often climb as clay minerals decline and as silica with carbonate concentration rises,however Poisson's ratio increases in relation to an increase in clay minerals,which also increases the ductility of the reservoir shale ***,compared to minerals and matrix,does not significantly impact the strength of shale ***,the benefits and drawbacks of using uniaxial and triaxial compression,ultrasonic testing,and nano-indentation techniques in unconventional reservoirs were *** findings suggest that,because of the possibility for experimental testing repeatability for increased accuracy,ultrasonic testing is the most appropriate experimental approach in the scenes of assessing static and dynamic geomechanical properties of reservoir shale *** suggested that numerically-based simulation of experimental techniques used for shale geomechanical evaluations and numer-ical modeling of heterogeneous shale rock samples will be necessary in light of the limitations faced in the a

AIM To evaluate the therapeutic role of double-balloon enteroscopy(DBE) in small bowel strictures and to propose a standard approach to small bowel *** systematic review of studies involving DBE in patients with small bowel strictures. Only studies limited to small bowel strictures were included and those with ileo-colonic strictures were excluded. REsULTs In total 13 studies were included,in which 310 patients were dilated. The average follow-up time was 31.8 mo per patient. The complication rate was 4.8% per patient and 2.6% per dilatation. surgery was avoided in 80% of patients. After the first dilatation,46% were treated with re-dilatation and only 17% required *** DBE-assisted dilatation avoids surgery in 80% of patients with small bowel strictures and is safe and effective. We propose a standardized approach to small bowel strictures.

Objectives External Counterpulsation (ECP) is a well-established treatment for coronary disease,with interest growing in the potential to act as a sports recovery modality or pre-performance *** pilot study compared the effects of dif-ferent ECP durations upon neuromuscular function (NF),cortisol and subjective perceptions in a rested *** Eleven physically active male volunteers received two ECP treatments (Renew sport,singapore) of differing duration (20-min and 40-min) in a randomised,repeated measures crossover *** occurred pre-ECP,post-ECP,and 24-h *** testing comprised counter-movement jumps (CMJs) and 6-s sprint *** samples were analysed for *** of Perceived Exertion (RPE,6 to 20) and Bipolar Comfort scales (-10 to 10) quantified partici-pants' experiences,and ECP duration preference was *** measures ANOVA and effect size (Es:Cohen's d) analysed NF and cortisol *** t-tests analysed RPE and comfort *** ECP demonstrated no effect,neither positive nor negative,upon NF outcome measures in both groups.A trend of reduced salivary cortisol levels across both groups following ECP was observed (P =0.066).No RPE difference existed between groups.20-min of ECP was rated as significantly more comfortable than 40-min (P s pre-dominantly identified the 20-min ECP session as "more acceptable".Conclusions These results indicate that there were no effects for either duration upon the defined outcome measures,and thus,in these circumstances,no differences between the two durations were observed with respect to effects upon NF and salivary *** use of ECP warrants further investigation for potential benefits to performance before it can be proposed as an effective preparatory modality.

Because pancreatic cancer(PC) historically has had poor prognosis and five year survival rates,it has been intensely *** of PC incidence and biology has shown a link between different risk factors such as smoking,alcoholism,and obesity and disease *** factors affecting PC include the epigenomic changes driven by DNA methylation and histone acetylation,and actions of microRNA inducing oncogenic or tumor suppressor *** have identified markers whose dysregulation seem to play important roles in PC *** markers involve classical histone deacetylases(HDAC),PC stem cell(PCsC),and *** this review,we discuss the role of several PC biomarkers,and the potential crosstalk between HDAC,microRNA,and leptin in PC *** expression of these molecules can increase proliferation,survival,PCsC,resistance to chemotherapy and tumor *** potential relationships between these molecules are further analyzed using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas and crosstalk pathways generated by the Pathway studio Platform(Ariadne Genomics,Inc.).Oncogenic miRNA21 and tumor suppressor miRNA200 have been previously linked to leptin *** analysis of PC biopsies and signaling crosstalk suggests that the main adipokine leptin could affect the expression of microRNA and HDAC in *** analysis suggests that HDAC-microRNA-leptin signaling crosstalk may be a new target for PC therapy.

研究了由3个梁焊接而成的三角形系统构成的二维单元的热膨胀和压缩特性,与每个梁相比,该三角形构件具有不同的性质(热膨胀和弹性模量)。结果表明:当三角形构件的底边热膨胀大于两侧边时,这种三角形系统可在一维方向上显示负热膨胀(即当三角形梁以楔形结构形成时,会产生三角形缩短效应)和负压缩特性。更引起人们兴趣的是:线热膨胀特性与三角形构件的底边和侧边材料的相对刚性(弹性模量)有关。压力变化对这种构件存在影响。与侧边梁刚性相比,构件的线性压缩率变化与底边梁刚性存在主要关系。
