Objective To evaluate the chemical composition and effects of Artemisia vulgaris(AV)hydroalcoholic extract(HEAV)on breast cancer cells(McF-7 and SKBR-3),chronic myeloid leukemia(K562)and NIH/3T3 *** Phytochemical analysis of HEAV was done by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass(HPlc)*** and cell death studies were performed using trypan blue and Annexin/FITc-7AAD,***-1(Fer-1)and necrostatin-1(Nec-1)were used to assess the mode of HEAV-induced cell death and acetoxymethylester(BAPTA-AM)was used to verify the involvement of cytosolic calcium in this *** calcium measurements were made using *** HEAV decreased the viability of McF-7,SKBR-3 and K562 cells(Plity of HEAV-treated K562 cells was reduced compared to HEAV-exposed fibroblasts(Pcells with HEAV induced cell death primarily by late apoptosis and necrosis in assays using annexin V-FITc/7-AAD(Pc-1 and Fer-1 increased the viability of K562 cells treated with HEAV relative to cells exposed to HEAV alone(Pced ca^(2+)release mainly from lysosomes in K562 cells(Pcellular ca^(2+)chelator,decreased the number of non-viable cells treated with HEAV(Pconclusions HEAV is cytotoxic and activates several modalities of cell death,which are partially dependent on lysosomal release of ca^(2+).These effects may be related to artemisinin and caffeoylquinic acids,the main compounds identified in HEAV.

There is an increasing interest in restoring degraded forests,which occupy half of the forest *** the forms of restoration,passive restoration,which involves the elimination of degrading factors and the free evolution of natural dynamics by applying minimal or no management,is gaining *** dynamics is difficult to predict due to the influence of multiple interacting factors such as climatic and edaphic conditions,composition and abundance of species,and the successional character of these ***,we study the natural dynamics of a mixed forest located in central Spain,which maintained an open forest structure,due to intensive use,until grazing and cutting were banned in the *** most frequent woody species in this forest are Fagus sylvatica,Quercus petraea,Quercus pyrenaica,Ilex aquifolium,Sorbus aucuparia,Sorbus aria and Prunus avium,with contrasting shade and drought *** species are common in temperate European deciduous forest and are found here near their southern distribution limit,except for *** order to analyze forest dynamics and composition,three inventories were carried out in 1994,2005 and *** results show that,despite the Mediterranean influence,the natural dynamics of this forest has been mainly determined by different levels of shade *** the abandonment of grazing and cutting,*** expanded rapidly due to its lower shade tolerance,whereas after canopy closure and forest densification,shade-tolerant species gained ground,particularly ***,despite its lower drought and late-frost *** the current dynamics continue,*** will overtake the rest of the species,which will be relegated to sites with shallow soils and steep ***,all the multi-centennial beech trees,which are undergoing a rapid mortality and decline process,will disappear.

The present work investigated the efficiency of leaf reflectance indices in the identification of capsicum annuum l. var. annuum resistant to anthracnose in the fruit. Twenty-five F5:6 families originating from contrasting parents were assessed;the parents were accession UENF 2285 (susceptible to anthracnose) and accession UENF 1381, a hot pepper resistant to anthracnose in the fruit. The experiment was carried out in an experimental field in campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between May and October of 2021. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design, with three replications and five plants per plot. Fifteen lRIs were estimated using a cI-710 portable mini leaf spectrometer. The assessments covered all plant growth after flowering, and a total of six assessments were performed at 15-days intervals, beginning at 35 and ending 120 days after flowering (DAFs). Analysis of variance in a split-plot scheme was performed, as were tests of mean groupings and principal components analysis (PcA). The best period for evaluating leaf reflectance indices in c. annuum var. annuum is 120 days after flowering. The leaf reflectance indices PRI, cNDVI and ctr2 stood out as effective in distinguishing between resistant and susceptible genotypes.

Numerous studies have shown that the nucleosome is a dynamic structure that strongly influences gene expression. Dynamism concerns different nucleosomal characteristics, including position, posttranslational modifications, and histone composition. Thus, within the nucleosome, canonical histones can be exchanged by histone variant proteins with specific functions--a process known as ‘histone replacement＇. The histone variant H2A.Z has an important function in transcription and, during the last few years, its role in plant development and immune response has become evident. compiling genetic and biochemical studies from several laboratories has revealed that plants contain a multiprotein complex, similar to the SWR1/SRcAP complex from yeast and animals, involved in H2A.Z deposition. Despite intense research in different organisms, the mechanism by which H2A.Z influences transcription is still unknown. However, recent results from Arabidopsis have shown a strong inverse correlation between H2A.Z and DNA methylation, suggesting that H2A.Z might protect genes from silencing.

Various post-harvest processes of rice are commonly employed,especially during the off-season,to ensure its consumption feasibility,which often affect the grain *** forms of drying,storage and processing of rice are evaluated to identify their effects on grain *** drying has emerged as an alternative to the widely-used intermittent-drying and fixed-bed-dryer methods of drying paddy *** of drying-air temperatures(between 40℃ and 60℃)according to the rice variety can improve quality,especially for exotic *** stored grain in hygroscopic balance,with water content between 11%to 15%,at temperatures between 16℃ and 20℃ and with intergranular relative humidity near 60%,allows 12 months of storage in a controlled environment without significant *** innovations,notably the application of artificial refrigeration to grain stored in bulk in vertical cylindrical silos and the use of impermeable packaging for storage,ensure the conservation of grain *** different stages and equipments used to obtain polished,brown and parboiled rice result in significant changes in the nutritional value of rice because of the removal of the outermost layers of the *** reduces the nutritional value and physical homogeneity of *** rice retains more bioactive compounds and nutrients because it does not lose the outer layer of the grains in the polishing *** rice,although less nutritious than brown rice,has better grain integrity and milling yield and less loss of nutrients than white rice.

It is estimated in Western industrialized countries that inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)has a prevalence of 1 for every 200 *** the past,the fat mass disproportionate increase in relation to the fat-free mass was considered uncommon in patients with IBD,due to the observation of the disease being more common with weight loss and ***,more in-depth investigations demonstrate that the fat/lean mass disproportion stands out both in prevalence in patients with new diagnoses of ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease as well as a factor of poor prognosis to the natural evolution of the disease or to the therapeutic *** important aspect associated with obesity in IBD is the increased risk of drug clearance[including anti-tumor necrosis factor(TNF)and anti-integrin agents],resulting in short half-life and low trough drug concentrations,since the levels of TNF secreted by adipocytes sequester anti-TNF agents,which could result in suboptimal response to *** view of these characteristic aspects of the inflammatory process of IBD,the identification of cellular functioning is necessary,which can be associated with the staging of the underlying disease,biochemical parameters,and body composition,helping as an indicator for a more accurate clinical and nutritional conduct.

AIM: To assess the impact of procollagen Ⅲ peptide as a marker of collagenesis in the development of pseudopolyps in patients with ulcerative ***: Development of pseudopolyps was monitored in 25 patients with ulcerative colitis classified according to Powell-Tuck index as mild (n=12) or moderate (n=13) form of disease. Patients with a mild form of disease were treated with oral mesalazine medication (2-4 g/day) and local mesalazine preparation (suppository). Patients with a moderate form of disease received oral mesalazine medication (2-4 g/day), local mesalazine preparation(suppository) and local methylprednisolone at an initial dose of 60 rag/day, followed by dose tapering. How many significant variables (previously determined by analysis of variance) were elevated in the groups with and without pseudopolyp developement was observed. ROc analysis for calculation of new index was ***: Serum values of procollagen Ⅲ peptide (PⅢP), c-reactive protein (cRP) and c4 complement component (c4)were statistically significantly lower in the group of patients flee from pseudopolyp development bhan bhose who developed one or more pseudopolyps (0.45±0.12 vs 1.42±0.70,Pctively) at endoscopic conrtrols with patohistologically samples during 13 months. There were no statistically significant differences in the values of c3, ceruloplasmin and IgM between the two groups (P>0.05).Discrimination function analysis yielded highest standardized cannon coefficients for PⅢP (0.876), cRP (0.104), c3 (-0.534) and c4 (0.184) (Plevation in two of three laboratory variables (PⅢP, cRP and c4) reached sensitivity of 93 % and specificity of 90 % in the development of ***: It is proposed that an increase in two of the three laboratory parameters (PⅢP, cRP and c4) could improve the accuracy of prediction of the development of pseudopolyps. Spectrophotometric method was used to evaluate the kinetic of the complex formation from the reaction between H[Ru(III)cl2(H2EDTA)] and the modifier agent [3-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropyl] trimethoxysilane (AEATS) (μ = 0.50 ***-3 with NacF3cOO, 298.15 K), in pseudo-first order conditions. These studies showed that the reactions are successives producing several species influenced by the concentrations ratio. The electronics spectrum of all solutions showed a band in 457 nm with variable molar absorptivity (ε).
