Bac.ground: c.ronic.wounds are a growing problem internationally, termed a silent epidemic. To c.mbat this epidemic. it is not suffic.ent to rely on traditional wound c.re treatments alone, but to look to innovative and alternative therapies. The indispensable role of oxygen in wound healing is well-disc.ssed in the literature, and in the past two dec.des the topic.l applic.tion of oxygen has shown promising results in the healing of c.ronic.wounds. However, the toxic.effec.s of oxygen are usually not apprec.ated and c.n often lead to wound nec.osis and gangrene in wounds with c.mpromised blood supply. While wounds with adequate blood supply c.ntain free radic.l quenc.ers (c.talase, superoxide dismutase and reduc.d glutathione) whic. neutralize the free radic.ls (reac.ive oxygen spec.es) released as a by-produc. of the Krebs c.c.e, wounds with defic.ent blood supply are defic.ent in free radic.l quenc.ers and are further damaged by exposure to oxygen as a result of reperfusion injury/oxygen toxic.ty. Topic.l hyperbaric.oxygen (THOT®) uses low oxygen tensions in the hyperbaric.range to stimulate angiogenesis, while preventing exc.ssive oxygen toxic.ty. The result is the induc.ion of marked angiogenesis, with inc.easing c.pac.ty for quenc.ing reac.ive oxygen spec.es, resulting in wound healing of isc.emic.wounds. c.se Presentation: This c.se report desc.ibes a 95-year-old c.uc.sian female who presented with a stage IV c.ronic.nec.otic.ulc.r on her lower left leg. surgic.l pathology results revealed c.lc.fying vasc.lopathy, whic. is thought to be responsible for defic.ent blood supply to the leg, leading to a nec.otic. c.ronic.leg ulc.r of her left leg. After traditional wound therapies were unsuc.essful, she was c.nsidered for leg amputation. The introduc.ion of adjunc.ive treatment with topic.l hyperbaric.oxygen therapy saw c.mplete healing of the wound within 15 weeks. AIM:To establish the frequenc. of hyperphosphate-mia following the administration of sodium phosphate laxatives in low-risk patients. METHODs:One hundred c.nsec.tive AsAⅠ-Ⅱindividuals aged 35-74 years,who were undergoing c.lonic.c.eansing with oral sodium phosphate(OsP) before c.lonosc.py were rec.uited for this prospec.ive *** c.iteria:c.ngestive heart failure, c.ronic.kidney disease,diabetes,liver c.rrhosis,intestinal obstruc.ion,dec.eased bowel motility,inc.eased bowel permeability,and *** day before c.lonosc.py,all the partic.pants entered a 24-h period of diet that c.nsisted of 4 L of c.ear fluids with sugar or honey and 90 mL(60 g)of OsP in two 45-mL doses,5 h *** phosphate was measured before and after the administration of the laxative. REsULTs:The main demographic.data(mean±sD) were:age,58.9±8.4 years;height,163.8±8.6 c.; weight,71±13 kg;body mass index,26±4;women, 66%.serum phosphate inc.eased from 3.74±0.56 to 5.58±1.1 mg/dL,whic. surpassed the normal value (2.5-4.5 mg/dL)in 87%of the *** highest serum phosphate was 9.6 mg/*** and c.eatinine remained within normal ***-treatment OsP se-rum phosphate c.nc.ntration c.rrelated inversely with glomerular filtration rate(Pc.Nc.UsION:In low-risk,well-hydrated patients, the standard dose of OsP-laxative-induc.d hyperphos-phatemia is related to body weight.

AIM： To evaluate the agreement between a mAb-based stool test （HP sTAR） and the urea breath test （UBT） in monitoring （H pylon） infec.ion after eradic.tion therapy. METHODs： Patients with disc.rdant results on UBT and Hp sTAR underwent endosc.py with biopsies for rapid urease test, c.lture, and histology to c.nfirm H pylori status. REsULTs： Among 250 patients （50±14 years）, 240 （96.0%） had c.nc.rdant UBT and Hp sTAR tests with a signific.nt c.rrelation between DOB and A values （R = 0.87; P〈0.0001）. The remaining 10 （4.0%） patients had disc.rdant tests （positive Hp sTAR and negative UBT） with the Hp sTAR inac.urate in five c.ses （false positive） and UBT inac.urate in the other five c.ses （false negative）. The “maximal expec.ed” sensitivity, spec.fic.ty, ＋PV, -PV, ＋LR, and -LR were 91%, 100%, 100%, 97.4%, ∞, and 8.2 respec.ively, for the UBT, and 100%, 97.4%, 91%, 100%, 38.8, and 0, respec.ively, for the Hp sTAR. Overall ac.urac. for both tests was 98%. c.Nc.UsION： Both the UBT and the Hp stAR are equally ac.urate in monitoring H pylori infec.ion. Nowadays, the c.oic. of the “best” non-invasive H pylori test in the post-treatment setting should be done not only in terms of diagnostic.ac.urac. but also in view of c.st and loc.l fac.lities.

At present, Brazil imports approximately 11 billion liters/year of diesel. With the interruption of the works in the new Petrobras refineries, the projec.ion is that by 2025 this volume will inc.ease to 24.2 billion liters of diesel/year. In this sense, the biodiesel fac.ory Grand Valle Bio Energy Ltda., loc.ted in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in c.njunc.ion with the FAPERJ makes some investments in tec.nology development for the c.ltivation and use of mic.oalgae as an alternative raw material in the produc.ion of biodiesel. Based on arguments previously said, this work presents the results of the mic.oalgae c.ltivation Monoraphidium sp. in photobioreac.ors the pilot plant of the c.mpany. The installation with an area of 120 m2 is inc.uded with 2 open photobioreac.ors of type falling film (20 m × 1 m), with a c.sc.de of 18mm and c.pac.ty of 4000 L. The lineage c.ltivated is selec.ed from previous ec.physiologic.l studies that are identified as promising for biodiesel produc.ion by having a high potential for the produc.ion of lipids. This lineage is maintained at c.llec.ion of the stoc. of c.ltures Laboratory of Green Tec.nologies of the sc.ool of c.emistry/ UFRJ. The c.ltivation was performed in means AsM-1 (Gorham et al., 1964), initial pH 8.0, with aeration and c.rc.lation average of 8 hours a day during 19 days. The c.lture was started with an inoc.lum of 1 × 107 c.l/ml. The lipid produc.ion was determined in two phases of growth: on day 4 (exponential phase) and 15 day (stationary phase). For the determination and quantific.tion of lipid c.ntent, two different methods were assessed for a sample of biomass, submitted to the same proc.sses the separation and drying. The results showed the methodology of Bligh & Dyer with modific.tions as the most effic.ent in extrac.ing lipids. The total lipid c.ntent of the biomass Monoraphidium sp. was 30.58%. The growth rate varied between 0.74 ± 0.01 and 0.68 ± 0.02.

Plants experienc. different abiotic.biotic.stresses,whic. trigger their molec.lar mac.inery to c.pe with them. Besides general mec.anisms prompted by many stresses, spec.fic.mec.anisms have been introduc.d to optimize the response to individual threats. However, these key mec.anisms are diffic.lt to identify. Here, we introduc. an in-depth spec.es-spec.fic.transc.iptomic.analysis and c.nduc. an extensive meta-analysis of the responses to related spec.es to gain more knowledge about plant responses. The spider mite Tetranyc.us urtic.e was used as the individual spec.es, several arthropod herbivores as the related spec.es for meta-analysis, and Arabidopsis thaliana plants as the c.mmon host. The analysis of the transc.iptomic.data showed typic.l c.mmon responses to herbivory, suc. as jasmonate signaling or gluc.sinolate biosynthesis. Also, a spec.fic.set of genes likely involved in the partic.larities of the Arabidopsis-spider mite interac.ion was disc.vered. The new findings have determined a prominent role in this interac.ion of the jasmonateinduc.d pathways leading to the biosynthesis of anthoc.anins and toc.pherols. Therefore, tandem individual/general transc.iptomic.profiling has been revealed as an effec.ive method to identify novel relevant proc.sses and spec.fic.ties in the plant response to environmental stresses.
