Rapid and robust control of single quantum dots

The combination of single particle detection and ultrafast laser pulses is an instrumental method to track dynamics at the femtosecond time scale in single molecules,quantum dots and plasmonic *** control of the extremely short-lived coherences of these individual systems has so far remained elusive,yet its successful implementation would enable arbitrary external manipulation of otherwise inaccessible nanoscale *** ensemble measurements,such control is often achieved by resorting to a closed-loop optimization strategy,where the spectral phase of a broadband laser field is iteratively *** scheme needs long measurement times and strong signals to converge to the optimal *** requirement is in conflict with the nature of single emitters whose signals are weak and *** we demonstrate an effective closed-loop optimization strategy capable of addressing single quantum dots at room temperature,using as feedback observable the two-photon photoluminescence induced by a phase-controlled broadband femtosecond *** to the optimization loop is the use of a deterministic and robust-against-noise search algorithm converging to the theoretically predicted solution in a reduced amount of steps,even when operating at the few-photon *** optimization of the single dot luminescence is obtained within~100 trials,with a typical integration time of 100 ms per *** times are faster than the typical photobleaching times in single molecules at room *** results show the suitability of the novel approach to perform closed-loop optimizations on single molecules,thus extending the available experimental toolbox to the active control of nanoscale coherences.

开发了一种利用全自动在线固相萃取/超高效液相色谱/质谱技术(SPE-UPLC-MS/MS)检测污水样品中的27种内分泌干扰物(EDCs)的方法.该方法可在9 min内,完成一个水样的净化、提取、分离、检测,完整的流程.回收率(72%—110%)令人满意,检测限达到每升几个纳克级别(0.3—2.1 ng.L-1),证明了它们对环境样品分析的潜力.为此,我们将该方法应用于从位于Las Palmas de Gran Canaria(加那利群岛,西班牙)的两个废水处理厂(WWTP)采集的样品.

全球竞争环境的变更导致企业社会责任约束力越来越大。企业在承受外部企业社会责任评价体系带来的压力的同时,更希望提高自身的企业社会责任内部管理能力。将企业社会责任与经济绩效联系在一起,从财务评价体系的角度融入社会责任元素,是提高企业社会责任内部管理能力的关键途径。为此,企业可以借助日常财务嵌入、信息披露和财务数据挖掘等三种途径,并将其与企业社会责任战略链接在一起,从财务数据中和战略方向上体现社会责任绩效。

Background:Male sex workers are at high-risk for acquisition of sexually transmitted infections(STIs),including human immunodeficiency virus(HIV).We quantified incidence rates of STIs and identified their time-varying predictors among male sex workers in Mexico ***:From January 2012 to May 2014,male sex workers recruited from the largest HIV clinic and community sites in Mexico City were tested for chlamydia,gonorrhea,syphilis,hepatitis,and HIV at baseline,6-months,and *** nee rates with 95%bootstrapped confide nee limits were *** examined potential timevarying predictors using generalized estimating equations for a population averaged ***:Among 227 male sex workers,median age was 24 and baseline HIV prevalence was 32%.Incidence rates(per 100 person-years)were as follows:HIV[5.23;95%confidence interval(CI):2.15-10.31],chlamydia(5.15;95%CI:2.58-9.34),gonorrhea(3.93;95%CI:1.88-7.83),syphilis(13.04;95%CI:8.24-19.94),hepatitis B(2.11;95%CI:0.53-4.89),hepatitis C(0.95;95%CI:0.00-3.16),any STI except HIV(30.99;95%CI:21.73-40.26),and any STI including HIV(50.08;95%CI:37.6062.55).In the multivariable-adjusted model,incident STI(excluding HIV)were lower among those who reported consistently using condoms during anal and vaginal intercourse(odds ratio=0.03,95%CI:0.00-0.68)compared to those who reported inconsistently using condoms during anal and vaginal ***:Incidence of STIs is high among male sex workers in Mexico *** condom use is an important protective factor for STIs,and should be an important comp on ent of interventions to prevent incide nt infect i ons.

The liver is one of the most important visceral organs, which represents a large contribution to whole animal energyexpenditure and the major synthetic site of insulin-like growth factor-I （IGF-1） peptide. Decreased plane of nutrition acts byreducing the metabolic rate and mass of metabolic tissues, such as liver. Also, undernutrition results in the reduced circulating IGF-1concentrations, due to the uncoupled growth hormone-IGF （GH-IGF） axis. This study investigated whether a 22-day period ofundernutrition （half maintenance） could affect liver mass and IGF-1 protein and gene expression. Sixteen pregnant ewes fed all （n =9） or half （n = 7） of their maintenance energy requirements were slaughtered on day 7 of pregnancy （oestrus = day 0）. Body and livermass, IGF-1 plasmatic concentrations and liver IGF-1 mRNA and protein expression were determined. Liver mass and the proportionof liver mass to empty body weight were lower in underfed animals. While IGF-1 plasmatic concentrations were lower inundernourished ewes, no differences in liver mRNA expression were found. This is the first time that differences inimmunohistochemistry intensity and total content are reported in sheep. In summary, the decreased plasma IGF-I concentrationsinduced by undernutrition in ewes was not associated with its reduced hepatic mRNA or protein expression, but to a decrease in livermass.

Polymers typically have intrinsic thermal conductivity much lower than other materials. Enhancement of this property may be obtained by the addition of conductive fillers. In this research, epoxy nanocomposites with exfoliated graphite nanoplatelets are prepared and characterized. The chosen approach requires no surface treatment and no sophisticated equipments allowing one to produce composites on a pilot scale. A significant increase of the thermal conductivity with the increasing of the graphite fillers content is nevertheless observed on 4 mm thick specimens. Our results viewed in the latest scientific findings suggest that the choice of resin is an important parameter to move towards composite materials with high thermal conductivity.

Posteroinferior Cerebellar Artery (PICA) Fusiform Aneurysm Ruptured Related with a Pure Arterial Malformation: Case Report and Technical Note (NBCA Embolization under Roadmap-Fluoroscopy)

Background: The pure arterial malformation (PAM) lesion has been recently described as a vascular pathology characterized by the sole presence of coiled, sometimes ectatic, arterial loops. 2% of the fusiform aneurysms are located in the vertebral-posterior inferior cerebellar arteries. Case Presentation: A 60 years old female with subarachnoid hemorrhage was diagnosed with a fusiform aneurysm in the right PICA related with a PAM in the digital subtraction angiography (DSA). With a negative super-selective Wada test, the patient was treated with embolization of the two lesions and the PICA for being in the same arterial territory with adhesive embolic liquid under roadmap fluoroscopy technique. The patient had a satisfactory clinical evolution and no added neurological deficit, so she was discharged 3 days after the treatment. Conclusion: These two vascular lesions located in the same artery are very rare and more in the PICA territory. It is important to make the best decision to treat them because of the potential complications;that’s why the procedure was supported with super-selective Wada test and neuromonitoring of the PICA territory. The injection of the mixture of NBCA and Lipiodol® under roadmap fluoroscopy is very safe.

The article reflects on the “philosophy of dialogue” of Martín Buber for the analysis of the relationship of women who live with arterial hypertension. With the theoretical proposal of Buber, considering the social context from the world view of the disease, this leads to relationships of suffering and anguish, but with dialogue among the people who live with this disease it is observed in specific cases of chronic disease. Likewise, the panorama of the problem is the interaction between the social being and the disease, in order to generate a dialogue between the disease and the women who live daily this condition.
