This study reviewed developments in provider utilization related to health care in the metropolitan area of the Syracuse hospitals between the twentieth century and the twenty first century with respect to major hospital services. In this study, a decline in the utilization of inpatient hospitals developed between 2020 and 2022. During this period, use of additional outpatient services such as ambulatory surgery, individual practitioners, outside hospitals, and the use of hospital emergency departments developed in the community. The study data demonstrated that between 2020 and 2022, the numbers of discharges from the combined hospitals declined for both adult medicine and adult surgery. Inpatient discharges declined by 2730 patients for adult medicine and 1961 patients for adult surgery. The data also demonstrated that between 2022 and 2024, the numbers of discharges increased by 1998 discharges for adult medicine and by 229 for adult surgery. As followup to this study, health care providers and payors should review approaches to efficiency in their communities and evaluate their impact on health care efficiency.

Biomass models to estimate carbon stocks in arid environment are very limited. This study employed destructive sampling to develop a new biomass model for Vachellia tortilis, a widely known species in the Sultanate of Oman. Twenty trees with a diameter at stump height (DSH) ranging from 18.5 cm to 150 cm were selected based on DSH and height variations for destructive sampling in As Saleel Natural Park Reserve (SNPR) in Al Sharqiyah governorate, South of Oman. Each tree was excavated and cut into three parts: Stems, Branches, twigs, and leaves. The total fresh weight of each tree was obtained in the field using a 300 balance. Sub-samples (250 - 300 grams) were taken from each part of the tree and transferred to the laboratory for dry weight determination. Linear multiple regression analysis was done using SPSS software between the three variables, DSH, H, CA (x) and the total dry biomass (y). Five models were tested for the best-fit model based on R-Square and Mean Square Error (MSE). Model 5 was the best-fit model, including the LOG of DSH and the LOG of CA (R2 = 0.97, MSE = 0.114). The models developed in this research fill a critical gap in estimating the AGB of terrestrial native species in Oman and other countries with similar ecological and climate conditions.

苏轼贬官岭南七年,在此期间抄写的文本及附带题跋,多是前代先辈的,也有同代人的,体现了他在流放期间对朝政局势的见解和策略,也透露出因言获罪而产生的忧虑。其中,抄录《晋书》中的传记最为常见。在惠州期间,对于数位僧侣的拜访,苏轼也以书法相赠来表达谢意,例如抄送陶渊明的《归去来兮辞》赠别卓契顺。他抄录陶渊明诗,可与《和陶诗》联系起来看,某种程度上可视为创作中回避纯粹自我表达的一种策略,此种自我表达在他流放岭南之后尤显重要。抄书拉开了苏轼与其作品的距离,成为自我保护的屏障,减少其因作品进一步卷入政治漩涡的可能性。而苏轼与姜唐佐的友谊,则成为苏轼谪居海南岛岁月传说中不可或缺的一部分。

Phytochrome A overexpression can increase harvest index,as was shown 25 years ago in a breakthrough paper on tobacco(Robson et al.,1996).The impact of this important discovery has,however,not been fully *** at high densities often respond strongly to nearby competitors by strong elongation of their internodes and upward bending of their leaves,i.e.,shade *** is crucial for plants to ascertain access to sunlight,and this navigation through vegetation occurs through light cues that are sensed with various photoreceptors.A spectacular sensitivity is displayed by sun-loving plants that can already sense their nearby competitors even before mutual shading occurs and respond through a first acceleration of shoot *** anticipatory response is triggered through red(R):far-red(FR)light-sensitive phytochrome photoreceptors that detect FR light that is reflected by nearby *** the vegetation continues to grow and true shading occurs,there is also a significant depletion of red and blue light,since the latter two are absorbed for photosynthesis in the overhead leaves(reviewed in Pierik and Ballaré,2021).Plants can respond to blue light depletion,especially when integrating it with signaling of FR enrichment in Arabidopsis(de Wit et al.,2016).

Geometric morphometric analysis of the early Pleistocene hominin teeth from Jianshi,Hubei Province,China

Although the early Pleistocene hominin fossils found in East Asia continent are widely recognized as the earliest hominins migrated from Africa, debates remain on the morphology and taxonomy of these fossils. In this study, dental crown shape of the three early Pleistocene hominin teeth (P3, M1, and M1) found in Jianshi, Hubei Province of China was analyzed by means of geometric morphometrics. The comparative samples of fossil hominins from Africa, Asia, and Europe as well as those of modern humans (N=257) were used. The results indicate that the contour, asymmetry, and cusp patterns of these three types of teeth differ obviously between the fossil hominins and modern humans. The crown shape of P3 in most fossil hominins including Australopithecus, African early Homo, and Asian Pleistocene hominins are asymmetric with their crown occlusal contours long and curving elliptic-shaped. The occlusal contour of the fossil hominin M1 is symmetric and rectangle-shaped with no marked cusp protrusion. The crown shape of fossil M1 is characterized by asymmetric contour with slightly projected metaconid and hypoconid. On the contrary, in modern Chinese and some European late Pleistocene hominins, the crowns of P3s show symmetric contours with buccal side wider than lingual side; the crown shape of M1 is asymmetric with lingual cusp distalplaced, especially for hypoconid; the M1 has symmetric and round crown contour. Our study reveals that Australopithecus has wide variations in its crown shape, whereas these dental morphospaces of Asian hominins are closely placed. The crown contour, symmetry, and cusp patterns of these three teeth of Jianshi hominin resemble those of Asian early and middle Pleistocene hominins. No marked difference in dental crown shape is shown between the Jianshi hominin and other Chinese Homo erectus, and there is also no evidence in support of the Jianshi hominin's closeness to Australopithecus and African early Homo members.

Epidemiology of Sexual dysfunction in Asia compared to the rest of the world

There have been a limited number of epidemiological studies published on sexual disorders in persons from Asia. This paper aims to assess the reports of sexual dysfunction epidemiological studies published in the English language that involved Asian countries. Key points are summarized in this paper from nine epidemiological papers on sexual dysfunction from Asia that were published in the English language. Seven met the criteria for evidence-based studies reaching a Prins score of at least 10 or more. Papers included in this report came from national and regional representative studies in peer review journals. These results for sexual dysfunction in the nine papers are summarized for various sexual dysfunctions in men and women in Asian countries. In three of these, worldwide data were presented in the same paper allowing comparisons with Asian data on prevalence rates. Detailed descriptions from each of these studies are presented in paragraph form. More detailed data on erectile dysfunction （ED） is presented in a tabular form. Collectively, there seems to be a need for country- and population-specific further descriptive and analytical epidemiological studies in all of the sexual disorders from Asia. This critical review paper should help guide these studies for reachinj[ evidence-based literature standards.
