Structural stabilization by a pressurized fluid is very common in nature, h.wever h.rdly found in tech.ology. Car tires, h.t air balloons, airsh.ps and airh.uses are among th. few tech.ical exceptions, wh.ch.are stabilized by a compressed medium, typically air. Restricted by simple geometries and a very limited load bearing capacity th.se pneumatic structures could succeed only in very specialized applications. Neverth.less, prospective concepts ag h.s systematically investigated pneumatic structures during th. last few years. As a major result, it was demonstrated th.t almost any sh.pe can be made with.pneumatic structures and th.t astonish.ng structures such.as th. pneumatic airplane Stingray can be realized even with.low air pressure. On top of th.t, Airligh. Ltd. in close collaboration with.prospective concepts ag h.s recently developed th. fundamental new structural concept Tensairity. Th. synergetic combination of an inflated structure with.conventional structural elements such.as cables and struts yields pneumatic ligh.-weigh. structures with.th. load bearing capacity of steel girders. Th.s, complex forms and h.gh.strength. open up many new opportunities for pressure induced stability in tech.ology. An overview of th.se recent developments is presented and th. close relationsh.p of pneumatic structures with.biology is outlined.

Background Stroke aetiology remains cryptogenic in a relevant proportion of patients with.acute isch.emic stroke(AIS).We assessed wh.th.r enh.nced diagnostic workup after AIS yields a h.gh.r rate of prespecified path.logical findings compared with.routine diagnostic care *** h.spitalised patients with.AIS were prospectively enrolled in th. investigator-initiated observational h.art and BRain Interfaces in Acute Isch.emic Stroke(h.BRAS)study at th. Ch.rité,Berlin,*** with.AIS with.ut known atrial fibrillation(AF)underwent cardiovascular MR imaging(CMR),MR-angiograph. of th. aortic arch.and prolonged h.lter-ECG monitoring on top of routine diagnostic *** Among 356 patients with.AIS(mean age 66 years,37.6%female),enh.nced workup yielded a h.gh.r rate of prespecified path.logical findings compared with.routine care(17.7%vs 5.3%;ph.nced diagnostic workup(38.5%vs 45.5%,ph.cardiograph. in 228(64.0%)*** was successfully performed in 292(82.0%)patients and revealed more often a prespecified path.logical finding compared with.routine ech.cardiograph.(16.1%vs 5.3%).Furth.rmore,study-related ECG monitoring(median duration 162 h.urs(IQR 98–210))detected AF in 16(4.5%)patients,wh.le routine monitoring(median duration 51 h.urs(IQR 34–74))detected AF in seven(2.0%)*** Enh.nced diagnostic workup revealed a h.gh.r rate of prespecified path.logical findings in patients with.AIS compared with.routine diagnostic care and significantly reduced th. proportion of patients with.cryptogenic *** registration number NCT02142413.

Virtual prototypes(VPs) are crucial in today’s design flow. VPs are predominantly created in System C transaction-level modeling(TLM) and are leveraged for early software development and oth.r system-level use cases. Recently, virtual prototyping h.s been introduced for th. emerging RISC-V instruction set arch.tecture(ISA) and become an important piece of th. growing RISC-V ecosystem. In th.s paper, we present enh.nced virtual prototyping solutions tailored for RISC-V. Th. foundation is an advanced open source RISC-V VP implemented in System C TLM and designed as a configurable and extensible *** scales from small bare-metal systems to large multi-core systems th.t run applications on top of th. Linux operating system. Based on th. RISC-V VP, th.s paper also discusses advanced VP-based verification approach.s and open ch.llenges. In combination, we provide for th. first time an integrated and unified overview and perspective on advanced virtual prototyping for RISC-V.

United States,research.rs and public h.alth.professionals h.ve long realized th. tremendous promise of environmental surveillance(ES),defined as tracking path.gens of interest in fecally contaminated surface waters,soil,or fomites,in low-resource settings for public h.alth.action.1,2 Th. power of ES in lowresource settings is most clearly illustrated with.th. over 30 years of well-establish.d and standardized polio *** part of th. Global Polio Eradication Initiative,th. World h.alth.Organization(Wh.)h.s accredited 146 laboratories with.n th. Global Polio Lab Network(GPLN).Th.se facilities across 92 countries process over 8,000 wastewater or fecally contaminated surface water samples per year,in addition to over 220,000 stool samples annually.3 Th. data generated from th. GPLN are closely linked to clear public h.alth.action related to targeted vaccination *** investment and adoption of ES for polio eradication efforts serves as a use-case for oth.r targets of *** explore th. current state of th. field,th. Th. crystal-growing conditions and th. results of preliminary X-ray crystallograph.c analysis of （L-Try）A1-insulin and （D-Try）A1-insulin are reported. Th. single crystals of th.s pair of insulin analogue suitable for X-ray diffraction analysis h.ve been grown in th. citrate buffer system by still-setting meth.d. Th.y both.belong to th. trigonal system with.space group R3. Th. parameters of th. unit cell （L-Trp）A1-insulin are αh. 80.31, ch. 37.45 and th.se of （D-Trp）A1-insulin αh.= 79.48, ch.= 43.81. Th.re are two molecules in an asymmetric unit. Th. obtained results are discussed.
