In this perspective,we have highlighted the current literature and explained the synthesis,structure,morphology,modification strategies,and photocatalytic applications of emerging BiPO_(4)-based *** BiPO_(4)is a large bandgap photocatalyst,it uses UV light for the excitation of electrons,and also,the recombination of charge carriers is an issue in BiPO_(4).Various novel modification strategies of BiPO_(4)photocatalysts *** modifications,heterojunction formation,phase-junctions,surface plasmon resonance,Schottky junction have been successfully proposed and *** modifications enhance the light absorption and inhibit the recombination of charge carriers BiPO_(4)***,future aspects for further research on BiPO_(4)-based photocatalysts are also *** expects that BiPO_(4)-based photocatalysts represent a promising strategy for developing practical photocatalysts for energy and environmental remediation applications.

Autophagy,a cellular degradative process,has emerged as a key regulator of cellular energy production and stress *** autophagy is a common phenomenon observed in several human diseases,and its restoration offers curative ***-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),more recently renamed metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease,is a major metabolic liver disease affecting almost 30%of the world ***,NAFLD has no pharmacological therapies available to *** regulates several hepatic processes including lipid metabolism,inflammation,cellular integrity and cellular plasticity in both parenchymal(hepatocytes)and non-parenchymal cells(Kupffer cells,hepatic stellate cells and sinusoidal endothelial cells)with a profound impact on NAFLD *** cell type-specific autophagy in the liver is essential in order to develop targeted treatments for liver diseases such as *** autophagy in specific cell types can have varying effects on liver function and pathology,making it a promising area of research for liver-related *** review aims to summarize our present understanding of cell-type specific effects of autophagy and their implications in developing autophagy centric therapies for NAFLD.

Measurement of Radioactivity of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in Soil of Different Geological Origins in Northern India

Radioactivity of the nuclides 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K was measured in soil by γ-ray spectrometry using HPGe detector. A criterion was set in order to analyse soil samples from plain, semi-hilly and hilly areas in northern India. More than three γ-ray energy peaks were used for the determination of 226Ra and 232Th activity concentrations to obtain more accurate results. Some of these peaks have interfering energies, which was caused by the limited resolution of the detector, but they were resolved theoretically and used in the analysis because of their significance in reducing the random error to its minimum level. Relationships between the measured radionuclides have been discussed elaborately. Radionuclides 238U and 226Ra were found in disequilibrium with ratio of specific activities 238U/, 226Ra) less than unity for most of the samples. In some cases this disequilibrium may be significant enough to modify the γ-ray dose factors.

The Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak was rst discovered in Wuhan,China,and it has since spread to more than 200 *** World Health Organization proclaimed COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern on January 30,***,a quickly spreading infection that could jeopardize the well-being of countless individuals requires prompt action to forestall the malady in a timely ***19 is a major threat worldwide due to its ability to rapidly *** vaccines are yet available for *** objective of this paper is to examine the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic,specically studying Hubei Province,China;Taiwan;South Korea;Japan;and Italy,in terms of exposed,infected,recovered/deceased,original conrmed cases,and predict conrmed cases in specic countries by using the susceptible-exposed-infectious-recovered model to predict the future outbreak of *** applied four differential equations to calculate the number of conrmed cases in each country,plotted them on a graph,and then applied polynomial regression with the logic of multiple linear regression to predict the further spread of the *** also compared the calculated and predicted cases of conrmed population and plotted them in the graph,where we could see that the lines of calculated and predicted cases do intersect with each other to give the perfect true results for the future spread of the *** study considered the cases from 22 January 2020 to 25 April 2020.

Coronavirus particles contain four main structural proteins. These are the spike (S), membrane (M), envelope (E), and nucleocapsid (N) proteins, all of which are encoded within the 3’ end of the viral genome. The S protein (~150 kDa) utilizes an N-terminal signal sequence to gain access to the ER, and is heavily N-linked glycosylated. In view of the increase in death due to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease), it is important to investigate the potential effects the coronavirus on different organs. A literature search was performed from Elsevier, Pubmed, Springer, and Hindawi, and literature is reviewed using customized search strategies. The search strategy included the following terms Cardiovascular effect, Neurological effect, and kidney. Myocardial damage is a common occurrence in patients with COVID-19 disease hospitalisation. This is characterized by a rise in troponin. Vascular endothelial damage in both small and mid-sized pulmonary vessels was noted together with Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and Pulmonary embolism (PE), resulting in pulmonary infarction. Liver damage in patients with coronavirus infections might be directly caused by the viral infection of liver cells. Neuronal pathway is an important vehicle for neurotropic viruses to enter the CNS (Central Nervous system). Recent research studies show that apoptosis is implicated in a variety of ocular disorders, including glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, cataract development, retinoblastoma, retinal ischemia, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular murine glaucoma. The more the understanding about this new virus and its occurrence, the better the ability of people to cope with it. It’s far hoped that we will conquer COVID-19 soon with the invention of powerful vaccines, pills, and remedies.

The spectrum and etiologies of lower urinary tract symptoms in postmenopausal women

Background:Although the prevalence of lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)is high in the female population,it is even higher in post-menopausal *** frequency,severity,and etiology of LUTS vary among populations and *** study aimed to define the characteristics of LUTS in postmenopausal women and their underlying *** and methods:Overall,74 postmenopausal patients presenting with LUTS in the urological outpatient department were included in the study.A detailed evaluation of LUTS and their underlying etiologies was *** were divided into 2 groups based on age(65 years),and the variation in different factors was compared across the *** were compared using the t test and 1-way analysis of ***:Nocturia was the most common symptom(89.2%)followed by frequency(83.8%).Among voiding LUTS,the most common was a weak stream(63.5%).Frequency,nocturia,urgency,urge urinary incontinence(UI),stress UI,and nocturnal enuresis were more common in patients older than 65 *** and urge UI were recognized to be the most bothersome symptoms by 37%of the study population followed by straining(32%).The mean storage scores,incontinence scores,and quality of life(QoL)scores for patients younger than 65 years and 65 years or older were 6.9 and 8.5(p<0.01),1.8 and 4.1(p<0.01),4.9 and 6.1,*** most common diagnosis was bladder outlet obstruction due to urethral/meatal stenosis(40.5%)followed by an overactive bladder(32.4%),urinary tract infection(10.8%),cystocele(8.1%),urethral prolapse(4.1%),and urethral caruncle(4.1%).Conclusions:Storage LUTS were the most common and increased in both frequency and severity with *** QoL was also more severely affected in older postmenopausal *** outlet obstruction due to meatal with or without distal urethral stenosis was the most common underlying cause of LUTS followed by an overactive *** bladder had the most severe impact on pat

Gender differences in anxiety and depression among the caregivers of patients with dementia

Background: Providing care to dementia patients itself poses risk of distress in bio-psychosocial paradigm. It is important to assess the mental health status and attend to the needs of caregivers. The present investigation focuses on gender differences related to anxiety and depression in caregivers of dementia patients. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in an out-patient setting in the Dementia clinic of a tertiary care hospital. Sixty caregivers of consescutive dementia patients receiving outpatient care were assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Descriptive analysis was done to find in between group differences for the male and female caregivers and Pearson’s correlation coefficient was calculated to find the association between the number of family members with chronic illness and the scores on HADS. Results: Male and female care- givers differed significantly on the HADS—Total, Anxiety and Depression subscale scores with female care givers having significantly higher scores. There was a significant correlation between the number of family members with chronic illness and HADS-Anxiety subscale scores in female caregivers. Conclusion: It is crucial to screen caregivers, especially females, of patients with dementia for presence of anxiety and depression. This approach will help timely identification and proper management of these individuals. It is important to promote measures to soften the impact that the patient has on the caregiver, and that, at the same time, improves the quality of life of the patient.

Heterotopic Pancreas Presenting as Gastric Polyp

Heterotopic pancreas is defined as pancreatic tissue found outside the usual anatomical location of the pancreas. It is often an incidental finding and can be found at different sites in the gastrointestinal tract. It may become clinically evident when complicated by pathological changes such as inflammation, bleeding, obstruction, and malignant transformation. We report an unusual case of a 25-year-old male patient with pain epigastrium caused by a polyp at the body of stomach along greater curvature revealed at endoscopy. Endoscopic biopsy was s/o inflammatory pathology. Wide excision of polyp was done and a histological diagnosis of heterotopic pancreas was established. The difficulty of making an accurate preoperative diagnosis is highlighted.
