Aims The plant-herbivore interaction is one of the most fundamental inter-actions in *** are sessile organisms,and consequently rely on particular strategies to avoid or reduce the negative impact of ***,we aimed to determine the defense strategies against insect herbivores in the creeping invasive plant Alternanthera *** We tested the defense response of *** to herbivory by a leaf-feeding specialist insect Agasicles hygrophila and a pol-yphagous sap-feeding insect Planococcus *** also tested the mechanisms triggering defense responses of *** by including treatments of artificial leaf removal and jasmonic acid ***,we examined the effect of physiological integration on these defense *** Findings The combination of artificial leaf removal and jasmonic acid appli-cation produced a similar effect to that of leaf-feeding by the real *** integration influenced the defense strat-egies of *** against herbivores,and increased biomass allocation to aboveground parts in its apical ramets damaged by real *** study highlights the importance of physio-logical integration and modular plasticity for understanding the consequences of herbivory in clonal plants.

Thermally induced apoptosis for tumors depends mainly on the intrinsic characteristics of biological tissues as well as treatment temperature profile during magnetic ***,treatment temperature distribution inside tumor depends on the injection behavior of irregular tumors,such as the injection dose and the injection location of *** order to improve the treatment effect,the simulated annealing algorithm is adopted in this work to optimize the nanofluid injection behavior,and the improved Arrhenius model is used to evaluate the malignant ablations for three typical malignant tumor cell *** addition,both the injection behavior optimization and the mass diffusion of nanofluid are both taken into consideration in order to improve the treatment *** simulation results demonstrate that the injection behavior can be optimized effectively by the proposed optimization method before therapy,the result of which can also conduce to improving the thermal apoptosis possibility for proposed typical malignant ***,an effective approach is also employed by considering longer diffusion duration and correct power dissipation at the same *** results show that a better result can then be obtained than those in other cases when the power dissipation of MNPs is set to be QMNP=5.4×10^(7)W·m^(3) and the diffusion time is 16 h.

The onset of the movement of particles placed on a horizontal rough surface subject to a vertical sinusoidal vibration is investigated through tracking experiments,theoretical analysis,and numerical simulations. The frequency of vibration needed to move particles decays exponentially with the amplitude of the oscillatory *** behavior is explained through a simple mechanism in which a forced damped harmonic oscillator with a spring constant represents all the interactions between the particle and the *** numerical results compare well with experimental data,demonstrating that the forces included in the numerical calculations suitably account for the main particle response,even though the complexity of the surface is not fully taken into *** the way in which frequency varies with amplitude could be relevant to technological applications such as cleaning of material surfaces.

In order to investigate the basic mechanical properties and stress strain relationship model for bamboo scrimber manufactured based on a new technique,a large quantities of experiments have been carried *** on the analysis of the test results,the following conclusions can be *** main typical failure modes were classified for bamboo scrimber specimens both under tension parallel to grain and tension perpendicular to *** failure happened for all tensile *** slope values for the elastic stages have bigger discreteness compared with those for the specimens under tensile parallel to *** failure modes for bamboo scrimber specimens under compression parallel to grain could be divided into *** one main failure mode happened both for the bending specimens and the shear *** the COV values of 28.64 and 25.72 respectively,the values for the strength and elastic modulus under tensile perpendicular to grain have the largest discreteness for bamboo *** the point of CHV values,the relationship among the mechanical parameters for bamboo scrimber were proposed based on the test *** with other green building materials,bamboo scrimber manufactured based on a new technique has better mechanical performance and could be used in construction *** stress strain relationship models which are four-linear model,quadratic function model,and cubic function model were proposed for bamboo scrimber specimens manufactured based on a new *** latter two models gives better prediction for stress strain relationship in elastic plastic stage.
