The properties of dry-coated paracetamol particles(fast-dissolving model drug)with carnauba wax particles as the coating agent(dissolution retardant)were *** mapping technique was used to non-destructively examine the thickness and homogeneity of coated *** results showed that the wax existed in two forms on the surface of the paracetamol particles,forming a porous coating layer:i)whole wax particles on the surface of paracetamol and glued together with other wax surface particles,and ii)deformed wax particles spread on the *** of the final particle size fraction(between 100 and 800 mm),the coating thickness had high variability,with average thickness of 5.9±4.2 *** ability of carnauba wax to decrease the dissolution rate of paracetamol was confirmed by dissolution of powder and tablet *** dissolution was slower for larger coated *** further reduced the dissolution rate,clearly indicating the impact of subsequent formulation processes on the final quality of the product.

Future components to enhance the basic,native security of 5G networks are either complex mechanisms whose impact in the requiring 5G communications are not considered,or lightweight solutions adapted to ultrareliable low-latency communications(URLLC)but whose security properties remain under *** different 5G network slices may have different requirements,in general,both visions seem to fall short at provisioning secure URLLC in the *** this work we address this challenge,by introducing cost-security functions as a method to evaluate the performance and adequacy of most developed and employed non-native enhanced security mechanisms in 5G *** categorize those new security components into different groups according to their purpose and deployment *** propose to analyze them in the context of existing 5G architectures using two different ***,using model checking techniques,we will evaluate the probability of an attacker to be successful against each security ***,using analytical models,we will analyze the impact of these security mechanisms in terms of delay,throughput consumption,and ***,we will combine both approaches using stochastic cost-security functions and the PRIsM model checker to create a global *** results are first evidence of how a 5G network that covers and strengthened all security areas through enhanced,dedicated non-native mechanisms could only guarantee secure URLLC with a probability of∼55%.

A computerized method for determining rock joint coefficients is *** relative similarity indicators are introduced to classify surface morphology of rock *** classification enables to compare investigated and database rock *** a comparison aims at finding the couple of surfaces that are distinguished by the highest dynamical *** first absolute indicator results from the Fourier matrix and evaluates wavy shapes of *** second absolute indicator quantifies the heights of surface reliefs and is defined as the root mean square height of the surface *** reliability of these indicators is tested within the surface analysis of a series of limestone *** the computerized assessment,25 people have performed visual assessment of these limestone *** results of visual assessments have been statistically processed and compared to the results received from the computerized *** newly introduced absolute indicators have proved to be prospective numerical tools for evaluating joint rock coefficients.

NATO standards"AEP-2920 Procedures for the Evaluation and Classification of Personal Armor"and NIJ standard-0101.06,indicate the method to statistically assess the resistance of personal ballistic protection *** be validated and accepted through these procedures,a personal ballistic protection material should withstand an impact of a specific projectile with a probability of a partial penetration confidence level higher than 90%.The present study introduces an energy equilibrium method to assess the confidence level for the probability of partial penetration of ductile and brittle *** experiments performed in the Ballistics laboratory of the Royal Military Academy in Belgium,use a modified pendulum method that allowed the quantification of the energy balance before and after the ballistic *** results were then compared with the ones obtained using the method specified by the NATO standard and NIJ 0101.06,mentioned *** outcome of this comparison shows the tendency of the values obtained by the pendulum method to faithfully follow the values obtained according to NATO and NIJ *** presented method is not based on statistical estimations,but instead,an exact method,of computing the energy absorbed by the tested *** is an advantage for the cases when the material to be evaluated is expensive or it is in the development phase and mass production is not possible.

The linear component of starch,amylose,has the ability to interact with hydrophobic molecules forming inclusion complexes(ICs).These structures have gained a particular interest for potential food applications,either as dietary fiber or as delivery systems of bioactive *** the second case,the complexation of sensitive molecules is directed to protect them from processing,storage and stomach conditions and to guarantee a sustained release in the gastrointestinal *** present review covers the analytical and technological aspects of inclusion complexes,with focus on their potential application in the development of functional *** was addressed by first explaining the methodologies used for the analytical assessment of their structural,thermal,and functional properties,followed by the study of the functionality of ICs as carrier agents of different bioactive compounds and food ingredients,including alpha-lipoic acid,α-linolenic and linoleic fatty acids,conjugated linoleic acid,ascorbyl palmitate,phenolic compounds,and *** also covers the application of ICs in food products and the analysis of the potential industrial scalability of the formation *** analytical methodologies allowed a complete characterization of the *** structures have shown suitable functional properties as delivery systems of the bioactive compounds and flavors covered in this *** incorporation of ICs in food has led to the development of products with improved nutritional and/or functional *** successful formation of complexes using methods suitable for an industrial scale represents promising preliminary results to achieve the scalability of the ICs production in the near future.

Background and aim In-stent restenosis(IsR)belongs to an infrequent but potentially serious complication after carotid angioplasty and stenting in patients with severe carotid *** of these patients might be contraindicated to repeat percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with or without stenting(rePTA/s).The purpose of the study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of carotid endarterectomy with stent removal(CEAsR)and rePTA/s in patients with carotid *** Consecutive patients with carotid IsR(≥80%)were randomly allocated to the CEAsR or rePTA/s *** incidence of restenosis after intervention,stroke,transient ischaemic attack myocardial infarction and death 30 days and 1 year after intervention and restenosis 1 year after intervention between patients in CEAsR and rePTA/s groups were statistically *** A total of 31 patients were included in the study;14 patients(9 males;mean age 66.3±6.6 years)were allocated to CEAsR and 17 patients(10 males;mean age 68.8±5.6 years)to the rePTA/s *** implanted stent in carotid restenosis was successfully removed in all patients in the CEAsR *** clinical vascular event was recorded periproceduraly,30 days and 1 year after intervention in both *** one patient in the CEAsR group had asymptomatic occlusion of the intervened carotid artery within 30 days and one patient died in the rePTA/s group within 1 year after *** after intervention was significantly greater in the rePTA/s group(mean 20.9%)than in the CEAsR group(mean 0%,p=0.04),but all stenoses werestenosis that was≥70%did not differ between the rePTA/s and CEAsR groups(4 vs 1 patient;p=0.233).Conclusion CEAsR seems to be effective and save procedures for patients with carotid IsR and might be considered as a treatment option.

The size effect of impact abrasive particles on wear and surface hardening behavior of high-manganese steel was *** wear tests were carried out on MLD-10 tester with abrasive particle sizes of 6.0–0.75 mm,*** results showed that the impact wear behavior and surface hardening mechanism of high-manganese steel were affected by the size of abrasive particles.A critical size of abrasive particle might exhibit to distinguish the impact wear *** the abrasive particle size was larger than 0.75 mm,the wear mass loss generally showed a decreasing trend with the decrease of the abrasive particle *** strengthening and mechanical twinning contributed to the good work hardening ***,effective surface hardening layer could not be formed for sample tested with particle size of 0.75 mm and the wear mass loss was the highest among all the *** weak hardening effect led to the sharp increase of the wear mass ***-in abrasives could be observed on the wear surface when the abrasive particle size was larger than 0.75 *** press-in abrasives were peeled off from the wear surface and broken,leaving deep grooves and peeling *** exchange with the sample would occur with the flow of abrasives.A large area of furrow was formed on the wear *** particle size of 0.75 mm,aggregated abrasives formed a dynamic buffer layer on the surface and the stress distribution was more *** formation of buffer layer would lower the effect of the impact load and the work hardening effect could not be fully *** mutual extrusion among the abrasives,friction wheel and sample caused plastic deformation of the worn surface during impact *** present study would help guiding to select the application field of high-manganese steel more precisely.

The idea of envelope of a family of plane curves is an elementary notion in differential geometry. As such, its implementation in dynamic geometry environments is quite universal(Cabri,The Geometer's sketchpad, Cinderella, Geo Gebra,...). Nevertheless, most of these programs return,when computing certain envelopes, both some spurious solutions and the curves that truly ?t in the intuitive de?nition of envelope. The precise distinction between spurious and genuine parts has not been made before: This paper proposes such distinction in an algorithmic way, ready for its implementation in interactive geometry systems, allowing a ?ner classi?cation of the different parts resulting from the current, advanced approach to envelope computation and, thus, yielding a more precise output, free from extraneous components.
