Plasmonic nanoantennas have considerably stronger polarization-dependent optical properties than their molecular counterparts,inspiring photonic platforms for enhancing molecular dichroism and providing fundamental insight into light-matter *** such insight is that even achiral nanoparticles can yield strong optical activity when they are asymmetrically illuminated from a single oblique angle instead of evenly *** effect,called extrinsic chirality,results from the overall chirality of the experimental geometry and strongly depends on the orientation of the incident *** extrinsic chirality has been well-characterized,an analogous effect involving linear polarization sensitivity has not yet been *** this study,we investigate the differential scattering of rotationally symmetric chiral plasmonic pinwheels when asymmetrically irradiated with linearly polarized *** their high rotational symmetry,we observe substantial linear differential scattering that is maintained over all pinwheel *** demonstrate that this orientation-independent linear differential scattering arises from the broken mirror and rotational symmetries of our overall experimental *** results underscore the necessity of considering both the rotational symmetry of the nanoantenna and the experimental setup,including illumination direction and angle,when performing plasmonenhanced chiroptical *** results demonstrate spectroscopic signatures of an effect analogous to extrinsic chirality for linear polarizations.

Periodic Waves of a Discrete Higher Order Nonlinear SchrSdinger Equation

The Hirota equation is a higher order extension of the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation by incorporating third order dispersion and one form of self steepening effect, New periodic waves for the discrete Hirota equation are given in terms of elliptic functions. The continuum limit converges to the analogous result for the continuous Hirota equation, while the long wave limit of these discrete periodic patterns reproduces the known resulr of the integrable Ablowitz-Ladik system.

for sustainable plant drinks production,the biorefinery concept of obtained press cakes(PC)using ultrasonication,mechanical separation,and ultra-filtration was designed in fraunhofer UMSICHT(Germany).In this study obtained permeates,as wastes after ultrafiltration of PC(soyabeans,almonds,coconut,oats,and rice)were analyzed and their bio-stimulatory effect on the growth of wheatgrass in vivo was *** with higher soluble protein content(soy,almonds,and coconut)resulted in a significant increase in germination parameters(germination percentage(GP),length of stem and root as well as biomass of stem and root increased on averge by 8.3%,15.8%,9.2%,2.22 times and 1.8 times,respectively)compared to the control ***,the fermentation using antimicrobial lactic acid bacteria(LAB)strains(Lactobacillus brevis LUHS173,Pediococcus acidilactici LUHS236 and Lactobacillus farraginis LUHS206)was applied for bio-treatment of *** efficiency of fermentation process was evaluated on the changes of pH,TTA,LAB growth kinetics and lactic acid and its isomers ***,the antifungal activity of selected fermented products against fungi(fusarium graminearum f,***,and ***)was *** was found that the highest antifungal activity(18.0 mm and 16.5 mm,respectively)was obtained by 48 h fermentation of permeates from grain press cake(oats and rice),containing the most reducing saccharides,and they significantly improved the germination of contaminated *** in the sustainable production of plant-origin drinks enable to implementation of new,environmentally friendly technologies in food sector.

Since the ban of polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs)and hexabromocyclododecane(HBCDD),other flame retardants may be increasingly ***-one current-use halogenated(HfRs)and 24 organophosphorous flame retardants(PfRs)have been sought in Arctic ecosystems so *** measurements provide evidence of long-range atmospheric transport for the majority of these compounds,with much higher concentrations for PfRs than for *** HfRs,***(2-ethylhexyl)-tetrabromophthalate(BEH-TEBP),2-ethylhexyl-2,3,4,5-tetrabromobenzoate(EH-TBB)and hexabromobenzene(HBBz),had air concentrations comparable to those of PBDEs in some *** data for seawater and ice indicate dry deposition of HfRs,while net volatilization from seawater was observed for some *** in the marine environment indicate a wide presence of HfRs in marine biota,but generally at low levels,*** lower than those of *** exist,namely 2,4,6-tribromophenyl 2,3-dibromopropyl ether(TBP-DBPE)and decabromodiphenyl ethane(DBDPE),which were found in concentrations comparable to PBDEs in some *** same was the case for 2,4,6-tribromophenyl allyl ether(TBP-AE)in a study from the terrestrial *** generally had low concentrations in biota,probably due to metabolic transformation of PfR triesters,as suggested by in vitro *** PfR concentrations occurred in some individuals,generally indicating a larger variability of PfRs in biota than found for *** commercially important tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA)was only detected sporadically,and only in abiotic matrices.

Evaluation of Simulated CO_2 Concentrations from the CarbonTracker-Asia Model Using In-situ Observations over East Asia for 2009–2013

The CarbonTracker(CT) model has been used in previous studies for understanding and predicting the sources, sinks, and dynamics that govern the distribution of atmospheric CO_2 at varying ranges of spatial and temporal scales. However, there are still challenges for reproducing accurate model-simulated CO_2 concentrations close to the surface, typically associated with high spatial heterogeneity and land cover. In the present study, we evaluated the performance of nested-grid CT model simulations of CO_2 based on the CT2016 version through comparison with in-situ observations over East Asia covering the period 2009–13. We selected sites located in coastal, remote, inland, and mountain areas. The results are presented at diurnal and seasonal time periods. At target stations, model agreement with in-situ observations was varied in capturing the diurnal cycle. Overall, biases were less than 6.3 ppm on an all-hourly mean basis, and this was further reduced to a maximum of 4.6 ppm when considering only the daytime. for instance, at Anmyeondo, a small bias was obtained in winter, on the order of 0.2 ppm. The model revealed a diurnal amplitude of CO_2 that was nearly flat in winter at Gosan and Anmyeondo stations, while slightly overestimated in the summertime. The model's performance in reproducing the diurnal cycle remains a challenge and requires improvement. The model showed better agreement with the observations in capturing the seasonal variations of CO_2 during daytime at most sites, with a correlation coefficient ranging from 0.70 to 0.99. Also, model biases were within-0.3 and 1.3 ppm, except for inland stations(7.7 ppm).
