Assessment of portable FTIR and Raman spectroscopy for the detection of 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-dinitrobutane(DMDNB)in plastic explosives

The Marplex Convention was established to prevent the manufacture of unmarked plastic explosives and stipulates that a volatile detection agent must be added at the time of ***,to-date,laboratory testing remains the internationally accepted practice for identifying and quantifying the taggants stipulated in the *** this project,portable FTIR and Raman instruments were tested for their ability to detect 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-dinitrobutane(DMDNB),the chemical marker incorporated in plastic explosives that are manufactured within *** both FTIR and Raman instruments detected solid DMDNB(98%purity),field analysis of plastic explosives at an Australian Defence establishment showed that both FTIR and Raman spectra were matched the relevant explosive(RDX or PeTN),rather than the DMDNB *** all three plastic explosives tested,the concentration of DMDNB was measured by SPMe-GC-MS to be between 1.8 and 2%,greater than the minimum 1%concentration stipulated by the Marplex *** testing with a plastic explosive analogue confirmed that the minor absorption peaks that would characterize low concentrations of DMDNB were masked by absorption bands from other compounds within the ***,while both FTIR and Raman spectroscopy are suitable for detection of plastic explosives,neither rely on the presence of DMDNB for *** is likely that similar results would be found for other taggants stipulated by the Marplex Convention,given they are also present in concentrations less than 1%.

A versatile analytical method(VAM) for calculating the harmonic components of the magnetomotive force(MMF) generated by diverse armature windings in AC machines has been proposed, and the versatility of this method has been established in early literature. However, its practical applications and significance in advancing the analysis of AC machines need further elaboration. This paper aims to complement VAM by augmenting its theory, offering additional insights into its conclusions, as well as demonstrating its utility in assessing armature windings and its application of calculating torque for permanent magnet synchronous machines(PMSM). This work contributes to advancing the analysis of AC machines and underscores the potential for improved design and performance optimization.

In this editorial,we comment on the article by Chen et al recently published in *** focus the debate on whether reducing the upper limit of normal of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)would effectively identify cases of fibrosis in metabolic-dysfunction associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD).This is important given the increasing prevalence of MAFLD and obesity ***,a suitable screening test to identify patients in the general population does not exist and most patients are screened after the finding of an abnormal *** authors of this paper challenge the idea of what a normal ALT is and whether that threshold should be lowered,particularly as their study found that 83.12%of their study population with a diagnosis of MAFLD had a normal *** main advantages of screening would be to identify patients and provide intervention early,the mainstay of this being changing modifiable risk factors and monitoring for liver ***,there is not enough suitable therapeutic options available as of yet although this is likely to change in the coming years with more targets for therapy being *** is one example of this which has demonstrated benefit with an acceptable side effect profile for those patients with MAFLD and obesity,although studies have not yet shown a significant improvement in fibrosis *** would also require a huge amount of resource if a reduced ALT level alone was used as criteria;it is more likely that current scoring systems such as fibrosis-4 may be amended to represent this additional ***,there is not a good argument to recommend wide-spread screening with a reduced ALT level as this is unlikely to be *** is compounded by the fact that there is a significant heterogeneity in what is considered a normal ALT between *** studies previously have suggested a more pragmatic approach in screening those over the age of 60,this is likely to change with the increasing inc

A general mirror equivalence theorem for coset vertex operator algebras

We prove a general mirror duality theorem for a subalgebra U of a simple conformal vertex algebra A and its commutant V=ComA（U）.Specifically,we assume that A≌⊕i∈IUi×Uias a U×V-module,where the U-modules Uiare simple and distinct and are objects of a semisimple braided ribbon category of U-modules,and the V-modules Viare semisimple and contained in a （not necessarily rigid） braided tensor category of *** also assume U=ComA（V）.Under these conditions,we construct a braid-reversed tensor equivalenceτ:UA→VA,where UAis the semisimple category of U-modules with simple objects Ui,i∈I,and VAis the category of V-modules whose objects are finite direct sums of *** particular,the V-modules Viare simple and distinct,and VAis a rigid tensor *** an application,we find a rigid semisimple tensor subcategory of modules for the Virasoro algebra at central charge 13+6p+6p-1,p∈Z 2,which is braided tensor equivalent to an abelian 3-cocycle twist of the category of finite-dimensional ***,the Virasoro vertex operator algebra at central charge 13+6p+6p-1is the PSL2（C）-fixed-point subalgebra of a simple conformal vertex algebra W（-p）,analogous to the realization of the Virasoro vertex operator algebra at central charge 13-6p-6p-1as the PSL2（C）-fixed-point subalgebra of the triplet algebra W（p）.

Two well-preserved petrified palm stems from the latest Maastrichtian(Late Cretaceous)to earliest Danian(early Paleocene)sediments of the Deccan Intertrappean Beds of Madhya Pradesh,Central India are *** significant anatomical characteristics include a Calamus-type general stem pattern,the presence of well-preserved fibrovascular bundles(fvbs)with two wide metaxylem vessel elements(230 mm-250 mm)and one phloem strand,uniform density of fvbs,lack of continuity between protoxylem and metaxylem vessel elements,and an absence of centrifugal differentiation of sclerenchymatous fibrous *** features reveal a close resemblance to those of extant genera of scandent *** permineralized stems are described as a new species namely,Palmoxylon calamoides Kumar,Roy et Khan *** fossils represent the oldest reliable fossil records of this family,supporting their Gondwanan origin,their importance in tracing their migration pathways from India to europe and other continents after the docking of the Indian subcontinent with eurasia during the Paleocene,and an“Out-of-India”dispersal *** the subfamily Calamoideae is disjunctly occurred in Africa,Asia,Australia,europe,and South America,but the poor deep-time fossil record of this subfamily with a small number of Cenozoic fossils makes hypotheses concerning its origin and dispersal difficult to *** present study has significant implications for the origin and migration of this subfamily and the paleoclimate.

以纳米流体分频的光伏/光热（PV/T）集热器能使光伏和光热模块的工作温度解耦，从而获得更高的太阳能综合利用效率。以水基Ag-SiO2纳米流体为分频液和集热工质，设计新型的分频PV/T集热器结构，研究在Ag-SiO2纳米流体4种质量浓度和运行条件下，分频PV/T集热器功能单元的热、电性能。结果表明：Ag-SiO2纳米流体的质量浓度显著影响PV/T集热器功能单元的性能，质量浓度为0.025%时，综合效率约为63.21%，比水为分频流体时的综合效率提升约38.04%；得出水基Ag-SiO2纳米流体分频时PV/T集热器功能单元的热、电效率和综合效率与不同纳米颗粒质量浓度的拟合关系式，为通过控制纳米流体质量浓度参数从而调节PV/T集热器的热、电输出提供理论依据。
