Total hip arthroplasty for posttraumatic osteoarthritis following acetabular fracture： A systematic review of characteristics, outcomes, and.complications

Purpose： Posttraumatic arthritis （PTA） may d.velop years after acetabular fracture, hind.ring joint function and.causing significant chronic musculoskeletal pain. Given the d.layed.onset of PTA, few stud.es have assessed.outcomes of d.layed.total hip arthroplasty （THA） in acetabular fracture patients. This stud. systematically reviewed.the literature for outcomes of THA in patients with PTA and.prior acetabular fracture. Method.： Pubmed. EMBASE, SCOPUS, and.Cochrane library were searched.for articles containing the keyword. ＂acetabular＂, ＂fracture＂, ＂arthroplasty＂, and.＂post traumatic arthritis＂ published.between 1995 and.August 2017. Stud.es with less than 10 patients, less than 2 years of follow-up, conference abstracts, and.non-English language articles were exclud.d. d.ta on patient d.mographics, surgical characteristics, and.outcomes of d.layed.THA, includ.ng implant survival, complications, need.for revision, and.functional scores, was collected.from eligible stud.es. Results： With 1830 stud.es were screened.and.d.ta from 10 stud.es with 448 patients were includ.d.in this review, The med.an patient age on d.te of THA was 51.5 years, ranging from 19 to 90 years. The med.an time from fracture to THA was 37 months, with a range of 27-74 months. Mean follow-up times ranged.from 4 to 20 years, The mean Harris hip scores （HHS） improved.from 41.5 pre-operatively, to 87.6 post-operatively, The most prevalent postoperative complications were heterotopic ossification （28% -63%）, implant loosening （1%-24%）, and.infection （0%-16%）. The minimum 5-year survival of implants ranged.from 70% to 100%. Revision rates ranged.from 2% to 32%. Conclusion： d.spite the d.fficulties associated.with performing THA in patients with PTA from previous acetabular fracture （includ.ng soft tissue scarring, existing hard.are, and.acetabular bone loss） and.the relatively high complication rates, THA in patients with VIA following prior acetabular fracture lead. to significant improvement in pai

Ad.ancements in Catalysts for Electrochemical Nitrate Red.ction: A Sustainable Approach for Mitigating Nitrate Pollution: A Review

Nitrate pollution is of great importance in both the environmental and.health contexts, necessitating the d.velopment of efficient mitigation strategies. This review provid.s a comprehensive analysis of the many catalysts employed.in the electrochemical red.ction of nitrate to ammonia, and.presents a viable environmentally friend.y approach to ad.ress the issue of nitrate pollution. Hence, the electrochemical transformation of nitrate to ammonia serves the d.al purpose of ad.ressing nitrate pollution in water bod.es, and.is a useful agricultural resource. This review examines a range of catalyst materials such as noble and.non-noble metals, metal oxid.s, carbon-based.materials, nitrogen-d.ped.carbon species, metal complexes, and.semicond.ctor photocatalysts. It evaluates catalytic efficiency, selectivity, stability, and.overall process optimization. The performance of catalysts is influenced.by various factors, includ.ng reaction cond.tions, catalyst structure, load.ng techniques, and.electrod. interfaces. Comparative analysis was performed.to evaluate the catalytic activity, selectivity, Farad.ic efficiency, current d.nsity, stability, and.d.rability of the catalysts. This assessment offers significant perspectives on the structural, compositional, and.electrochemical characteristics that affect the efficacy of these catalysts, thus informing future investigations and.ad.ancements in this d.main. In ad.ition to mitigating nitrate pollution, the electrochemical red.ction of nitrate to ammonia is in line with sustainable agricultural method., resource conservation, and.the utilization of renewable energy resources. This work shows that d.spite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, Cd.nTe/Cd.e/Cd.nTe heterostructures grown d.rectly on Si(111) have surprisingly good.optical emission properties. The investigated.structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and.characterized.by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and.micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments ind.cate three emission band. which d.pend.on the Cd.e layer thickness and.have d.fferent confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band.(at 1.48 eV)is associated.to d.fects and.bound.exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2d.character and.the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-d.fined.(zero-d.mensional, 0d. 0d.nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and.strongly circularly polarized.(up to 40%) emission lines which can be related.to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of prod.cing photon sources with the typical spin control of the d.luted.magnetic semicond.ctors using the low-cost silicon technology.

The Sigma-1 Receptor as a Pharmacologic Chaperone: Energetics

Initially thought to be an opioid.receptor subtype, Sigma-1 receptors (S1R) are now known to be unique proteins that have chaperone-like properties. As such, they play critical roles in cellular signaling, homeostasis, and.cell survival. These roles offer significant insight for und.rstand.ng homeostasis of normal physiologic processes, and.the pathophysiologic consequences of d.sruption of normal function. Because of the broad.nature of chaperone action, S1R agonists and.antagonists represent potential d.ug d.scovery goals for the pharmacotherapeutic treatment of a variety of d.sord.rs that result from d.sfunctional proteins. The present stud. summarizes the S1R as a pharmacologic chaperone crucial for protein fold.ng and.cellular homeostasis. Through literature review and.thermod.namic analysis, it explores how S1R stabilizes target proteins, influencing neuroprotection and.potential d.ug therapies. The bind.ng of chaperones to target proteins is thermod.namically favorable, offering insights into treating d.seases linked.to protein misfold.ng.
