A perceptual quality metric for 3D triangle meshes based on spatial pooling

In computer graphics, various processing operations are applied to 3D triangle meshes and these processes often involve distortions, which affect the visual quality of surface geometry. In this context, perceptual quality assessment of 3D triangle meshes has become a crucial issue. In this paper, we propose a new objective quality metric for assessing the visual difference between a reference mesh and a corresponding distorted mesh. Our analysis indicates that the overall quality of a distorted mesh is sensitive to the distortion distribution. The proposed metric is based on a spatial pooling strategy and statistical descriptors of the dis- tortion distribution. We generate a perceptual distortion map for vertices in the reference mesh while taking into account the visual masking effect of the human visual system. The proposed metric extracts statistical descriptors from the dis- tortion map as the feature vector to represent the overall mesh quality. With the feature vector as input, we adopt a support vector regression model to predict the mesh quality score. We validate the performance of our method with three publicly available databases, and the comparison with state-of-the-art metrics demonstrates the superiority of our method. Experimental results show that our proposed method achieves a high correlation between objective assessment and subjective scores.

Clinicopathological differences between patients with schistosomal appendicitis and non schistosomal appendicitis:A retrospectively study of past ten years

Novel Evidence for a Reversible Dissociation of Light-harvesting Complex II from Photosystem II Reaction Center Complex Induced by Saturating Light Illumination in Soybean Leaves

After saturating light illumination for 3 h the potential photochemical efficiency of photosystem Ⅱ （PSII）（FJF,, the ratio of variable to maximal fluorescence） decreased markedly and recovered basically to the level before saturating light illumination after dark recovery for 3 h in both soybean and wheat leaves, indicating that the decline in FJ/Fm is a reversible down-regulation. Also, the saturating light illumination led to significant decreases in the low temperature （77 K） chlorophyll fluorescence parameters F685 （chlorophyll a fluorescence peaked at 685 nm） and F685/F735 （F735, chlorophyll a fluorescence peaked at 735 nm） in soybean leaves but not in wheat leaves. Moreover, trypsin （a protease） treatment resulted in a remarkable decrease in the amounts of PsbS protein （a nuclear gene psbS-encoded 22 kda protein） in the thylakoids from saturating light-illuminated （SI）, but not in those from darkadapted （DT） and dark-recovered （DRT） soybean leaves. However, the treatment did not cause such a decrease in amounts of the PsbS protein in the thylakoids from saturating light-illuminated wheat leaves. These results support the conclusion that saturating light illumination induces a reversible dissociation of some light-harvesting complex Ⅱ （LHClI） from PSII reaction center complex in soybean leaf but not in wheat leaf.

Catalytic dechlorination of chlorobenzene in water by Pd/Fe bimetallic system

Catalytic reductive dechlorination of monochlorobenzene(MCB) was carried out in the palladium/iron system. With low Pd loading(0 005%), 45% dechlorination efficiency was achieved within 5 h. Pd as catalyst accelerated the reductive dechlorination reaction. Dechlorination mechanism and kinetics were discussed. The reaction took place on the bimetal surface in a pseudo first order reaction, with the rate constant being 0 0071 min -1 ( K SA =8 0×10 -3 L/(m 2·h). The reduction product for MCB was benzene.

Catalytic Dechlorination of Chlorobenzene in Water by Pd/Fe System

Chlorobenzene was dechlorinated by Pd/Fe bimetallic system in water through catalytic reduction. The dechlorination rate increases with increase of bulk loading of Pd due to the increase of both the surface loading of the Pd and the total surface area. For conditions with 0.005% Pd/Fe, 45% dechlorination efficiency was achieved within 5 h. The dechlorinated reaction is believed to take place on the bimetal surface in a pseudo-first-order reaction, with the rate constant being 0.0043 min-1.

Enhanced catalytic degradation process of o-nitrochlorobenzene by palladium-catalyzed Fe^0 particles

Over Pd/Fe bimetallic catalyst, o-nitrochlorobenzene（o-NCB）, at a concentration of 20 mg/L in aqueous solutions, is rapidly converted to o-chloroaniline（o-CAN） first, and then quickly dechlorinated to aniline（AN） and Cl^- , without other intermediate reaction products. The aminated and dechlorinated reactions are believed to take place on the surface site of the Pd/Fe. The o-NCB removal efficiency and the next dechlorination rate increase with an increase of bulk loading of palladium and catalysts addition due to the increase of both the surface loading of palladium and the total surface area. These results indicate that reduction, amination and dechlorination of o- NCB by palladium-catalyzed Fe^0 particles, can be designed for remediation of contaminated groundwater.
