This paper discusses a physics-informed methodology aimed at reconstructing efficiently the fluid state of a ***,the generation of an accurate reduced order model of twodimensional unsteady flows from data leverages on sparsity-promoting statistical learning *** cornerstone of the approach is l_(1) regularised regression,resulting in sparselyconnected models where only the important quadratic interactions between modes are *** original dynamical behaviour is reproduced at low computational costs,as few quadratic interactions need to be *** approach has two key ***,interactions are selected systematically as a solution of a convex optimisation problem and no a priori assumptions on the physics of the flow are ***,the presence of a regularisation term improves the predictive performance of the original model,generally affected by noise and poor data *** cases are for two-dimensional lid-driven cavity flows,at three values of the Reynolds number for which the motion is chaotic and energy interactions are scattered across the *** is found that:(A)the sparsification generates models maintaining the original accuracy level but with a lower number of active coefficients;this becomes more pronounced for increasing Reynolds numbers suggesting that extension of these techniques to real-life flow configurations is possible;(B)sparse models maintain a good temporal stability for *** methodology is ready for more complex applications without modifications of the underlying theory,and the integration into a cyberphysical model is feasible.

The taxonomy of the genus Colletotrichum has undergone tremendous changes over the last decade,with over 200 species being currently recognised and species complexes being informally used to cluster those *** of these species are important plant pathogens,some rather polyphagous and others host-specific,but several occur seldomly and some may in fact be ecologically *** mainly on literature from the past decade,in this work we review the occurrence,geographic distribution and host spectrum of currently recognised Colletotrichum species under phylogenetic,pathologi-cal/agronomic and ecological perspectives,providing a list arranged by Colletotrichum species and species complexes.A total of 257 species are listed and grouped into 15 species *** this work we have recorded 1353 unique host species-Colletotrichum species association records from 720 hosts,with the Fabaceae as the family with higher number of hosts(52 host species)but with the Rosaceae as the family with the highest number of host species-Colletotrichum species association records(118 association records).According to occurrence data,88 species are common in nature,128 were considered as data deficient and 41 are threatened,some of which are likely extinct from nature and preserved only in cul-ture *** species are relevant plant pathogens,in some cases geographically confined and thus of potential quarantine *** on the major changes that occurred on Colletotrichum taxonomy over the last decade,this work provides a comprehensive overview of occurrence data of Colletotrichum species,compiling host range and geographical distribution,with relevance for plant pathology and conservation *** current taxonomic framework in Colle-totrichum is revealing numerous species but poses challenges to the employment of standard criteria for the evaluation of biological conservation of these *** advocate that conservation mycology and taxonomy should

Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive tumour that is very resistant to treatments and it is rarely diagnosed early because of absence of specific symptoms. Therefore, the prognosis for this disease is very poor and it has the grim supremacy in terms of unfavourable survival rates. There have been great advances in survival rates for many types of cancers over the past few decades but hardly any change for pancreatic cancer. Mutations of the Ras oncogene are the most frequent oncogenic alterations in human cancers. The frequency of KRAS mutations in pancreatic cancer is around 90%. Given the well-established role of KRAS in cancer it is not surprising that it is one of the most attractive targets for cancer therapy. Nevertheless, during the last thirty years all attempts to target directly KRAS protein have failed. Therefore, it is crucial to identify downstream KRAS effectors in order to develop specific drugs able to counteract activation of this pathway. Among the different signalling pathways activated by oncogenic KRAS, the phosphoinositide 3-Kinase(PI3K) pathway is emerging as one of the most critical KRAS effector. In turn, PI3 K activates several parallel pathways making the identification of the precise effectors activated by KRAS/PI3 K more difficult. Recent data identify 3-phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase 1 as a key tumour-initiating event downstream KRAS interaction with PI3 K in pancreatic cancer.

Strain engineering has arisen as a powerful technique to tune the electronic and optical properties of twod imensional semiconductors like molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)).Although several theoretical works predicted that biaxial strain would be more effective than uniaxial strain to tune the band structure of MoS_(2),a direct experimental verification is still missing in the *** we implemented a simple experimental setup that allows to apply biaxial strain through the bending of a cruciform polymer *** used the setup to study the effect of biaxial strain on the differential reflectance spectra of 12 single-layer MoS_(2)flakes finding a redshift of the excitonic features at a rate between-40 meV/%and-110 meV/%of biaxial *** also directly compare the effect of biaxi al and uniaxial strain on the same single-layer MoS_(2)finding that the biaxial strain gauge factor is 2.3 times larger than the uniaxial strain one.
