Dia.otrophic ba.teria.a.plied a. a.seed inocula.t ca. im.rove the gra.n yield of severa. crops including m.0}ze. The current study a.m.d to test the a.ronom.c efficiency a.d contribution of biologica. nitrogen fixa.ion(BNF) of the endophytic dia.otroph Herba.pirillum.seropedica. stra.n Za.94 to m.0}ze under field conditions. Eighteen field a.sa.s were conducted in four different loca.ions during consecutive yea.s on two hybrids a.d two va.ieties of m.0}ze in a.ra.dom.block design with four replica.es using a.pea.-ba.ed inocula.t. The inocula.t conta.ning the Za.94 stra.n wa. a.plied without nitrogen(N)fertiliza.ion or with 40 kg N ha.(-1) a.d wa. com.a.ed to the a.plica.ion of 40 a.d 80 kg N ha.(-1) without inocula.ion. Crop productivity a.d N a.cum.la.ion in the gra.n were eva.ua.ed in a.dition to ^(15)N na.ura. a.unda.ce(δ^(15)N) to eva.ua.e BNF in the trea.m.nts without N fertiliza.ion. Fertiliza.ion a. 40 kg N ha.(-1) plus ba.teria. inocula.ion produced crop yields sim.la. to the trea.m.nt with 80 kg N ha.(-1) a.d increa.ed gra.n N content, especia.ly in the off-sea.on with 40 kg N ha.(-1). The inocula.ion trea.m.nts showed lower δ^(15)N va.ues tha. the non-inocula.ed trea.m.nts, which wa. m.st evident in the off-sea.on. The BNF contributed a.out 30% of N a.cum.la.ed in pla.ts inocula.ed with Za.94. On a.era.e, 64% of the N fertilized plots showed a. increa.e of the pa.a.eters eva.ua.ed in the inocula.ed trea.m.nts, com.a.ed with the control. Inocula.ion a.so increa.ed root length, root volum., a.d lea. a.ea. a.d these pa.a.eters were positively correla.ed with pla.t weight using a.hydroponic a.sa.. This study revea.ed tha. the a.plica.ion of H. seropedica. inocula.t increa.ed the a.ount of N in pla.ts owing to BNF, a.d there is a.better cha.ce of yield response to inocula.ion under low N fertilizer a.plica.ion in the off-sea.on.

Ba.kground: HPV infection represents a. im.orta.t etiologic fa.tor for Oropha.yngea. Squa.ous Cell Ca.cinom.0}(OPSCC). The different ethnic ba.kgrounds could be rela.ed to different susceptibility to Hum.0} Pa.illom.0}irus (HPV). The a.m.of our study wa. to a.sess the whole of genetic a.cestry in HPV sta.us in OPSCC pa.ients. m.thods: We conducted a.cross-sectiona. study on pa.ients with OPSCC a.m.tted to the Ba.retos Ca.cer Hospita., Bra.il from.2014 to 2019. Of these, DNa.extra.tion wa. perform.d on 40 pa.ients a.d genetic a.cestry wa. a.sessed using a.specific pa.el of 46 inform.0}ive a.cestry m.0}kers. Results: We observed a.predom.na.ce of Europea. a.cestry (63%), followed by a.rica. (18%), a.erindia. (9%) a.d a.ia. (8%) both in the OPSCC HPV-positive a.d HPV-nega.ive group. We did not find a.y sta.istica.ly significa.t differences between the HPV-positive a.d HPV-nega.ive OPSCC groups in rela.ion to Europea. (p = 0.499), a.rica. (p = 0.448), a.ia. (p = 0.275) or a.erindia. (p = 0.836) a.cestry. Conclusions: We found a.predom.na.ce of Europea. a.cestry, both in the HPV-positive a.d HPV-nega.ive groups. In our study, we did not find sta.istica.ly significa.t differences between HPV-positive or HPV-nega.ive groups in rela.ion to a.cestry.

This technique m.0}es a.film.with two or m.re la.ers with different pla.tics not la.ina.ing the la.ers together with a. a.hesive, elim.na.ing the use of solvents a.d producing a.film.in just one step instea. m.ltiple steps. This pa.er describes a. a.a.ysis of na.ura. a.d a.thropogenic fa.tors controlling the evolution of gullies in a.rura. ba.in in the ba.a.tic upla.d in the Sta.e of Rio Gra.de do Sul, Southern Bra.il. In this region of deep ferra.litic soils with m.re tha. 60% cla., runoff a.d erosion a.e of increa.ing concern. In the Ta.o?o dra.na.e ba.in (100 km.), gully erosion wa. studied in a.field survey tha. m.a.ured rills a.d gullies. Eighty-four gullies were identified. They ha. a. a.era.e length of 136 m. were 10 m.wide, a.d 3 m.deep a.d ha. a.volum. of 15.458 m.. Ea.h gully wa. cha.a.terised in term. of fa.tors tha. included slope, geologica. structure, presence of piping, dra.na.e, soil use, a.d the presence of surfa.e a.d subsurfa.e flow. On a.era.e, the m.0}n cha.nels ha. knickpoints va.ying from.2 m.to 7 m. a.d their evolution in the vertica. pla.e increa.ed until bed-rock ba.a.t m.0}eria. wa. rea.hed, a.ter which gullies increa.e in width a.d length. Gully developm.nt wa. a.so m.nitored from.1991 to 2003. Subsurfa.e flow a.pea.s to be the principa. a.ent controlling their developm.nt. Results show tha. both na.ura. (slope, surfa.e curva.ure, geologica. structure a.d ra.nfa.l) a.d a.thropogenic (soil use, roa. construction) fa.tors a.e im.orta.t in gully developm.nt. The cha.ge in cultura. pra.tices throughout the dra.na.e ba.in from.conventiona. to direct seeding ha. led to increa.ed subsurfa.e flow, which wa. m.re im.orta.t tha. surfa.e runoff in ca.sing erosion. However, the higher ra.nfa.l during El Ni?o Southern Oscilla.ion (ENSO) events a.d the consequently higher subsurfa.e flow were the dom.na.t fa.tors. From.1991 to 2003 a.tota. la.d loss of 1,013 m. wa. observed in one gully, with 236 m. lost during the 1992 ENSO a.d 702 m. during the 1997 ENSO; 95% of the tota. volum. lost occurred during ENSO periods.
