Relationship between Changes in Functional Capacity and Anthropometric, Clinical and Psychological Indicators in Cardiac Patients Participating in Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Background: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a multifaceted treatment that can increase the survival and quality of life of cardiac patients by increasing their functional capacity (FC). In this study, we aimed to investigate the FC changes of cardiac patients after the CR program in different subgroups in terms of anthropometric, clinical, and psychological indices. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive retrospective study that has been derived from the results of a Cohort study at the Rehabilitation Research Center of the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Isfahan (Iran), from 2006 to 2017. In this study, the dependent variable is functional capacity changes based on Mets obtained in exercise testing at the beginning and end of the CR program. Independent variables included age, sex, dyslipidemia, diabetes, smoking, and Body mass index, type of intervention, depression, and EF. Results: The sample size is 1250 cardiovascular patients, of which 917 (73.5%) are male and 331 (26.5%) are female. Functional capacity after the CR program significantly increased in all age, gender, body mass index, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, smoking, depression, EF, and type of operation performed (angioplasty or open-heart surgery) subgroups, (p Conclusion: The results of this study show the importance of rehabilitation programs in the secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in different subgroups and factors such as gender, level of primary depression, and EF less than 35 are the most important factors affecting functional capacity increase after CR program in heart patients.

Some Engineering Properties of Sunflower Seed and Its Kernel

Some engineering properties of sunflower seed and its kernel, Shahroodi variety as a case study, were investigated at various moisture content levels （3-14% d.b.） for three size categories （large, medium and small）. With increase of moisture content from 3 to 14% d.b., all the main dimensions （length, width and thickness）, geometric mean diameter, porosity, true density, terminal velocity and static coefficient of friction increased while bulk density and rupture force for both sunflower seed and its kernel decreased for all size categories. The results showed that the highest value of static coefficient of friction for both seed and kernel was on the rubber surface, followed by plywood, polyethylene, galvanized iron, and finally aluminium surfaces. The seeds required less compressive force to dehull when loaded under the horizontal as compared to the vertical orientation. But for kernels, the trend was the opposite. Also, the compressive forces needed to initiate rupture of sunflower seed hulls were higher （47.1-94.72 N） than those required to rupture the kernel （8.5-13.4 N） in both orientations.

Generating thermal energy for temperatures more than 100 degrees centigrade, especially for high capacities, is not easy nor cost efficient. Absorbing chillers with liquid absorber could be used for this application yet there is a limitation for the thermal source which should be in a high temperature. Thus, the desired situation is to use absorbing chillers with least limitations so that the cost for cooling systems would significantly decrease. To this end, we substituted "solid absorbers" instead of liquid absorbers in the absorbing chillers. Beside the advantages of the proposed chillers, e.g. the required temperature for this chiller is low hence the costs would be less, there are some draw backs in implementing the solid absorbers. Hence, the Scientific Air conditioning institute of Iran Technical ＆ Vocation University – Mohajer center, started to work on reducing the absorbing cycle problems. The results of five years researches in this institute came to devising new absorbing chiller using ‘solid absorber’. Main novelties of this system could be mentioned as: the type of the used absorber, the increase of controlling accuracy, efficiency coefficient, the life time, and also the decrease in running time of cycle. In this paper we discuss absorbing chillers with solid absorbers thoroughly. Moreover, the mechanical cycle, thermodynamic cycles and thermodynamic processes are numerically analyzed. We compared our results with the commonly used chillers. The design method, advantages and disadvantages of cycle are illustrated briefly.

In this paper a single-switch single-stage charge pump electronic ballast with unity power factor is introduced for the fluorescent lamps. After a comparison between basic charge pump converters, the proposed ballast circuit operation is analyzed. The simulation results with the lamp circuit modeled, justifies the converter analysis.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of moisture content, size and loading orientation on mechanical properties such as force, deformation and energy absorbed per unit volume for fracturing Iranian sunflower seed and its kernel （Azargol as a case study） under quasi-static loading. Sunflower seeds and their kernels were quasi-statically loaded in horizontal and vertical orientations with moisture content in three levels： 3%, 7% and 14%, and size category in three levels： small, medium and large. The obtained results showed that rupture force for both sunflower seed and its kernel decreased with increasing moisture content while the absorbed energy and deformation at rupture point increased for all size categories in both horizontal and vertical loading orientations. Also, seeds in the vertical orientation developed hull cracks at a higher level of force than those loaded in the horizontal orientation. However, for the kernels it was the opposite. In addition, the average forces required to cause kernel rupture were lower （11.64-39.9 N） than those required to rupture the seed （30.06-117.46 N） in both orientations. Seeds loaded in a vertical orientation absorbed more energy （87.67 mJ） prior to rupture than those loaded in the horizontal （46.60 mJ） orientation. However, for the kernels it was the opposite.

Propose:In this study,we re-assessed the criteria defined by the radiological society of North America(RSNA)to determine novel radiological findings helping the physicians differentiating COVID-19 from pulmonary ***:All trauma patients with blunt chest wall trauma and subsequent pulmonary contusion,COVID-19-related signs and symptoms before the trauma were enrolled in this retrospective study from February to May *** patients(Group P)were then classified into two groups based on polymerase chain reaction tests(Group Pa for positive patients and Pb for negative ones).Moreover,44 patients from the prepandemic period(Group PP)were *** were matched to Group P regarding age,sex,and trauma-related *** radiologists blindly reviewed the CT images of all enrolled patients according to criteria defined by the RSNA *** radiological findings were compared between Group P and Group PP;statistically significant ones were re-evaluated between Group Pa and Group Pb ***,the sensitivity and specificity of each significant findings were *** Chi-square test was used to compare the radiologica丨findings between Group P and Group ***:In the Group PP,73.7%of all ground-glass opacities(GGOs)and 80%of all multiple bilateral GGOs were detected(p<0.001 and p=0.25,respectively).Single bilateral GGOs were only seen among the Group *** Chi-square tests showed that the prevalence of diffused GGOs,multiple unilateral GGOs,multiple consolidations,and multiple bilateral consolidations were significantly higher in the Group P(p=0.001,0.01,0.003,and 0.003,respectively).However,GGOs with irregular borders and single consolidations were more significant among the Group PP(p=0.01 and 0.003,respectively).Of note,reticular distortions and subpleural spares were exclusively detected in the Group ***:We concluded that the criteria set by RSNA for the diagnosis of COVID-19 are not appropriate in trauma ***

Ischemic optic neuropathies are among the most common causes of sudden vision loss,especially in patients over age *** cause and prognosis of these disorders,and in particular non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy,is poorly understood,and treatments remain poor in terms of restoring or preserving *** coherence tomography(OCT)and OCT angiography have allowed us to identify early and late structural changes in the optic nerve head and retina that may assist in predicting visual outcomes and may lead to greater understanding of pathogenesis and thus the development of effective medical interventions.
