Utilizing dexamethasone intravitreal implant to control postoperative inflammation in refractory uveitis undergoing cataract surgery

A fast algorithm for multivariate Hermite interpolation

Multivariate Hermite interpolation is widely applied in many fields, such as finite element construction, inverse engineering, CAD etc.. For arbitrarily given Hermite interpolation conditions, the typical method is to compute the vanishing ideal I （the set of polynomials satisfying all the homogeneous interpolation conditions are zero） and then use a complete residue system modulo I as the interpolation basis. Thus the interpolation problem can be converted into solving a linear equation system. A generic algorithm was presented in [18], which is a generalization of BM algorithm [22] and the complexity is O（τ^3） where r represents the number of the interpolation conditions. In this paper we derive a method to obtain the residue system directly from the relative position of the points and the corresponding derivative conditions （presented by lower sets） and then use fast GEPP to solve the linear system with O（（τ ＋ 3）τ^2） operations, where τ is the displacement-rank of the coefficient matrix. In the best case τ = 1 and in the worst case τ = [τ/n], where n is the number of variables.

Non-invasive ventilation improves hemorheology status in hypoxemic patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI

Background Hypoxemia sometimes occurs in the emergency room in the patients with acute myocardial infarction （AMI） after percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）, even in those with administration of conventional high-flow oxygen inhalation. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of non-invasive ventilation （NIV） in improving blood oxygen content and hemorheology in patients with AMI and hypoxemia. Methods This prospective study enrolled 50 consecutive eligible patients with AMI （aged 72.3 ± 9.5 years）, who had undergone PCI and been administered high-flow oxygen but still had hypoxemia. Blood was taken before NIV and at 0.5, 1, and 2 h after NIV. Blood gases, hemorheological variables including erythrocyte deformability, erythrocyte aggregation, erythrocyte osmotic fragility, membrane fluidity, and oxidative stress level were measured. Results Blood PaO2 increased to normal by 1 h after NIV. Assessed hemorheological variables had all improved and plasma malondialdehyde concentration decreased significantly after 2 h of NIV. Conclusions Our data suggest that NIV can help to improve blood oxygen content, hemorheological status, and minimize plasma lipid peroxidation injury in hypoxemic patients with AMI who have undergone PCI.

Effects of the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy on Regional Economic Growth and Social Development

Measuring the economic and social effects of the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy is critical to addressing regional sustainable development in China. To shed light on this issue, an integrated perspective was adopted that is combined with the difference-in-differences method to measure the effects of the strategy on economic growth and social development in Northeast China. The findings suggest that the strategy has significantly improved regional economic growth and per-capita income by increasing its gross domestic product(GDP) and GDP per capita by 25.70% and 46.00%, respectively. However, the strategy has significantly worsened the regional employment in the secondary industry of the region. In addition, the strategy has not significantly improved regional infrastructural road, education investment or social security, and has had no significant effect on mitigating regional disparity. In addition, the policy effects are highly heterogeneous across cities based on city size and characteristics. Therefore, there is no simple answer regarding whether the Northeast China Revitalization Strategy has reached its original goals from an integrated perspective. The next phase of the strategy should emphasize improving research and development(R&D) and human capital investments based on urban heterogeneity to prevent conservative path-dependency and the lock-in of outdated technologies.
